What a load of bullshit, the islands in the Pacific are sinking, the sea has not risen by the amount stated. If the sea level rises then it is world wide, not isolated cases.  Sea level is just that, the level of the seas, water finds its own level and it will be a constant all over the globe, not higher in some places than others. Blaming sea level rise on man made co2 emissions is absolute crap, research the ice core data, co2 does not force temperature rise, it is the other way around. Global warming/climate change is however very real and is the natural fluctuations of the Earths climate, the Earth is a living entity and these ups and downs should be viewed as the Earth breathing in and out.

Lol I hear all this shit about global warming and shit and sea level rises but guess what in 2016 NASAs pictures showed more ice in the polar ice caps then ever before recorded so tell me how! The earth has been warming since the beginning of time one reason is as the sun ages it gets hotter because that’s what dying stars like ours do and I love how people always talk about how people like al gore are doing such a service to the world fighting global warming but then leaves these seminars on his private jet lol and everyone producing electric cars did you know to make the batteries and engines for these cars the pollution your putting out is a lot more than any car will ever make
Sammuel Parris (4 months ago)
It is unfortunate but the fact is that our Earth has gone through dozens of warming and cooling periods in our time here and we are still recovering from the last Ice Age. In fact Earth has been, naturally, steadily warming for tens of thousands of years now. The Ice extended down beyond the Great Lakes and it has been receding ever since and pitting more water into our oceans. It's unfortunate for island chained like these but it's not our fault

Although i am not a English speaker, it is interesting... 2 300 years ago, Tuvalu n Kiribati didn't exists. They were under the sea water. The nature is the master... If a God should exists, it would be no earthquakes n no tsunami. People in Oceania believe that God will save theirs islands... Unfortunetely it is just a hope, not the reality...

i live in maldives.the whole sea level stuff is total bullshit theyve been saying that well sink for like 30 years. if anything the seas actually got lower then before ,the whole sinking stuff is just a clever plot by bussinessmen and our criminal politicians to increase tourism arrivals so they profit of this charade. they even imposed a so called carbon tax on smaller independent resorts to cripple them.maldives isnt sinking and maybe never will but we are definately been turned into a giant resort at the expense of the maldivian local people who have to work in lonely uninhabited islands away from their families

Suing people over this is beyond stupid. Wanna sue something sue the sun. Sue car industries for using oil. Sue Harrison Ford for building a car. Oh wait that’s ridiculous but suing a country for something that has been happening for centuries and was going to happen anyways is totally sane. Yeah ok. And global warming isn’t preventable. It was and is gonna happen. Driving a Tesla isn’t going to save the world. What’s gonna save the world? Nothing. Humans and all creatures must adapt to changes or die. Law of nature if humans can’t handle this well we’ll just die off and a better species will take our place and wonder about the buildings we left behind. Change is inevitable and fighting change is outright a waste of energy. Don’t fight the waves just ride them.

I remember in the 90's when they used to say that Venice (Italy) would be under water in 15-20 years. Almost 30 years later and they keep predicting the same for the next 20 years
Martin Gillette (8 months ago)
Well, I was doing some viewing on climate change and sea levels and ran across your video. I must say that for someone who, claims to be posting science, this post is the farthest thing from science I’ve seen in a long time. You’ve read a paper, or probably the just conclusions, of some climate change alarmists pretending to be scientists and have joined them in their craziness. Your video is so flawed it’s hard to know where to start. Let’s just look at a several errors. Unfortunately for you I have nothing better to do at this time. It’s obvious you haven’t bothered to look at actual data; the authors of the paper haven’t either. If you had, you would know that tide gauge data at Maldives, from the late 1800s to now, shows around a 3.5mm rise per year and is very consistent. It varies up and down around that mean. When there is an upswing the crazies come out to predict doom. So called “climate scientists” have been doing this for a very long time. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking at temperature, sea level or ice at the poles. They predict catastrophe after catastrophe. These never actually come to pass. That should tip you off that this is nonsense. You talk about Kiribati as well and show some girl in a rock nearly covered by water. You have no idea what the photo actually is about; it just looks scary. It’s like the polar bear photos we see. The sea level in Kiribati averages around 6.925 meters and has been very consistent. Data goes back to 1992. The lowest since then was in 1998 at 6.6 meters. The high was in 2015 at 7.1 meters. In 2016 the level was 6.8 which is lower than normal. It is now at 6.95; well within the mean but since it has risen from a low level back to a pretty normal level we have alarmists going crazy. The level was the same in 1995, 1997, 2002, 2006 and 2012. Why all the fuss now? And why didn’t we here about these islands growing form 2015 to 2016? Oh yeah that isn’t scary enough. But it gets nuttier. Your stats on Venice shouldn’t scare anyone. You say the sea level is rising at 2mm/yr and that in 20 years there will be 3.5 inches to contend with. Well 3.5 more inches doesn’t sound very scary. But, your math is off. 2mm times 20 is 40mm which is 1.57 inches or half of what you claim. Gee, everyone better seek higher ground while there’s still time. Your statements about the eastern US are just nuts to anyone with common sense. But I understand. You’re actually just parroting someone else's craziness. You talk about physics but you don’t seem to understand the principle of water seeking its own level. The east coast can’t possibly rise faster than everywhere else anymore than the water in my bath tub can be higher at one side than the other. And you blame all of this on global warming. If you were current you would know that this fraud is being exposed. NOAA and NASA have been changing their own data to remove warm and cool periods of the past and create current warming that isn’t actually occurring. Moreover CO2 can’t be driving global temperature. It hasn’t in the past. All of the ice core data sets show that CO2 increases after the Earth warms, not before. It’s an effect of global warming not a cause. The other problem with CO2 causing global warming has to do with the “greenhouse effect”. The atmosphere does not act like a greenhouse, especially with respect to CO2. CO2 absorbs long wave radiation. Prof Knut Angstrom showed that all of the long wave radiation reaching the Earth is already being absorbed. Adding more CO2 will not absorb what isn’t there. That’s like using a sponge to soak up all the water on a table and then using 20 more sponges to try to soak up more. If this video is anything like others you post, you need to stop saying you’re posting science. You clearly are not. Now don’t forget to point out the nonsense about 97% of scientist agreeing.

island nations should sue for Carbon monoxide and etc and should be brought to justice. I have friends from Marshall islands.
Hannibal Barca (10 months ago)
I believe so, because they are not particularly responsible for the dramatic sea rise which threaten's there very security and existence, being they adopted or where forced through colonizational influences to use more carbon based energy sources. They themselves are not capable of spewing enough of a carbon footprint to exercise drastic global climate change.

it's sad when people who did no wrong get affected by these things....
Michael Skinner (10 months ago)
The easiest thing for them to do is take retired cargo ships, fill them (mostly) with shipping containers, and have those as food production and housing (work/emergency housing) The ships can be modified, but provide a "base." Holding back the water is a waste of time and money. You don't have a wall or bucket big enough. They are better off having houses on stilts, with pontoons or something to float with a platform for a possible engine, or able to be "unhinged" from the foundation and float up. And yes, they Should be able to sue so that people can't Simply Deny it.

Planet earth has been around over 4 billion years, maybe this has nothing to do with the Liberal term Global warming. Maybe the planet is actually taking itself back. It wasn’t this way 4 billion years ago, the oceans were a lot higher then, This Global warming agenda was set in motion to make certain political figures a lot of money.. There is no real evidence that support the claims of that garbage.. If you live near the coast and you keep getting flooded, why the hell do you continue to whine about it.. Kiribati and Tuvalu are disappraring due to the north westerly drift of the pacific plate over uplifted oceanic crust and consequent subsidence on the north western side. In fact 90% of their islands are now submerged, most of which occured prior to human habitation. Same for Hawaii. This can be clearly demonstrated on google earth. Venice is subsiding due sediment compression. The 1.9mm annual rise in sea level is consistent with expected rates as we approach the peak of the current 4th order interglacial. This is far less than the average rise of 1m per 100 years which occured during the Holocene period. if you wish to campaign for clean energy and protest agsinst airborne pollution due to greenhouse gas emmissions I respect you for doing so. But please do this robustly and scientifically. The relationship of anthropogenic greenhouse gasses to Holocene sea level rise and the dissappearence of pacific islands is (as yet) unfounded and in contradiction to well established, measurable and proven geological mechanisms which have been studied and reported for nearly a century.

ANDREW HARTLEY actually i meant that volcano eruptians displace water sometimes as new islands are created or when alot of ash sinks to the bottom of the ocean
ANDREW HARTLEY (8 months ago)
Hoi: A couple problems with your post. First, while antarctica sea ice was increasing up until 2016, land ice (the ice that affects sea levels most) there has been decreasing for a long time. Secondly, recently, even sea ice there is now decreasing; the trend has reversed. Oh, and if you're talking about volcanic eruptions increasing atmospheric CO2, increasing the greenhouse effect & thus global warming, volcanoes actually have a net cooling effect; their aerosols reflect UV rays more than their CO2 traps infrared radiation.
Hoi19448239345 (9 months ago)
ANDREW HARTLEY melting glaciers dont make the sea rise in fact antarctica is gaining ice and the reason why sea levels rise is because of tectonic plates that are moving and volcano eruptions together with humans using groundwater that has been there for thousands of years and dumping it in the sea since most countries dont reuse their water
ANDREW HARTLEY (10 months ago)
If the melting glaciers are not making the sea level rise, then their water must be going someplace else besides the sea. Where is the water going, Nicky?

Yes they ought to be able to sue. its a terrible shame whats happened to their home and people.

Sea level rising is due to human activities alright, but there's NO SUCH THING AS GLOBAL WARMING! If you look and how many times the governments around the world have been doing so called NUCLEAR BOMB TESTINGS, especially the USA in the SOUTH PACIFIC over a thousand times...that would MAKE MORE SENSE TO ME! Plus they got people SELLING SAND like they do illegal drugs, using up a significant amount of sand off of many of the shorelines...that is a MAJOR FACTOR as to why the sea is roaring violently and UNBALANCED. Jeremiah 5:22 talks about how God Almighty created SAND AS A BARRIER TO HOLD THE SEA BACK. The importance of SAND to the echo system is extremely significant and with all the man made infrastructures that NEED SAND in order to be build using up all the BARRIER FOR THE OCEAN, no wonder the SEA LEVELS APPEAR TO BE RISING...IT'S THROWN OUT OF BALANCE!
rifat Akash (2 years ago)
It's not about just some islands. It's happening and affecting all around the world. I'm from Bangladesh and ours is the most threaten country due to global warming or so called "climate change". I love the Andaman Islands and thank God they are mountainous and green tropical islands who can well survive the climate change as it has already survived the tsunami of 2004.
True Observation (22 days ago)
Ibrahim Bashir, it’s all nonsense.. if the sea levels were rising I would have seen it where i live, i also would have seen it in 14 other countries I’ve been to multiple times. I have seen no evidence of rising sea levels. The problem is due to two reasons: 1. Nothing on the island to stop the land from being washed away. 2. Due to a shift in the techtonic plates or liquefaction.
Jamesthedoughnut XD (2 years ago)
HBefore I watch the video I am guessing the Canary Islands (apparently the largest ever tsunami is gonna be there in like 2050 or something), Maldives, Kiribati and Tuvalu are on this list

Venice is sinking for various reasons. Subsidance from pumping up too much fresh water from the aquifer below the city. The city now pipes in fresh water from the mainland. The ship channel dredged through the laggon to a mainland port allows more sea water to penetrate the lagoon and has facilitated flooding. Also the city was built on marsh land and the weight of all the stone on top of the mud has been causing setteling for centuries. Climate change is just the icing on the cake so to speak.
