I notice how butch women have the biggest breasts. Like how? Lol.

I always laugh and I tell them nah man I'm a girl
Emm Rouse (5 months ago)
I'm not even butch and sometimes I get mistaken for a dude - especially from behind because I am really tall like 6ft... However other day I dressed the most boyish I ever have in my life and we were in the supermarket. Some little kid walked past me and asked their dad - "Is that a boy or a girl?" My brother found it hilarious, made me feel good tbh. I text the gf like "I am rocking androgyny today apparently" Made me feel surprisingly confident 😅😅
Sevrid Grey (7 months ago)
Usually I laugh it off. I just wear a hat, shirt and jeans, but I can count how many times retail workers or cashiers called me "Sir". Maybe because I'm not slim.

Lmao what
Kaydan Milne (10 months ago)
I understand this so much!! I’m tall and very non-feminine, so I get mistaken for a guy a lot. This happens even more when I have short hair, and I just chopped it off again (because I hate long hair!). It doesn’t bother me! I’m non-binary and this kinda comes with the territory.
Tyana Morgan (11 months ago)
I know that feeling very well....my own experience tho haha 😅😅😅

I'm definitely a stem. On days that I don't wear makeup I get mistaken for a guy allllll the time. Or just stared at
Michaela Wiik (1 year ago)
When I was in My teens kids would ask if I were a girl or a boy to their parents. Some People even thought I was a gay boy for some reason 😂 Some girls have instantly asked me if I like licking pussy? First thing when they meet me. I think its because how I act, mainly though. It shines through! My guy friends call me boy names as well haha
ciara lee (1 year ago)

Quinn Klassen (1 year ago)
This boy in my class knows that I'm a girl (even though I dress like a dude most of the time ) he also knows I'm gay, but he still calls me a boy just to piss me off. what a dick
Aurora Hisita (2 years ago)
some of my patients always call me sir or calls me Michael which is not my name and one of them said I'll be a good husband and dad. (insert awkward seal)
Ria Brittan (2 years ago)
i always get mistaken for a man becuase i prefer mens clothes. i feel more comfortable in them, but because of it i dont like to use public toilets as i get abuse. ;(
Isa (2 years ago)
Once I was looking for a bathroom, and a couple of teens thought a was a guy, but, dude, I was just wearing a snapback, I don't even have short hair
Ariana (2 years ago)
One time I had a substitute in my science class, and I had raised my hand to ask a question and he was like, "sir?". I was sitting with my best friend and he was just laughing at me; I just went with it because he's a sub, what does it matter?

Or better yet say nothing & walk away.  Is it anyone's business unless they want to have sex with me?  I think not.  Especially don't explain to men.
Irmina Włodarczyk (2 years ago)
If I weren't judged for that, I would dress like a man all the time, just because it's so comfortable and kind of cool. However, I just don't need this extra attention and questions about my choices. And I'm straight. Sometimes I wear my bf's tshirts even to the office and it feels just great :).
Kristi314159 (2 years ago)
This is good. Girls as guys do so much better than guys as girls. Girls are just cuter.
Kayden E.K. (2 years ago)
I like when people miss gender me because I am gender fluid
jasminlois777 (2 years ago)
Omg that's totally true. A lot of my butch lesbian friends have bigger boobs than anyone else.
danlc95 (2 years ago)
When I was 18, I'd get mistaken for a girl all the time. My hair was really long... I actually had a couple come up to me after a gig and say they've never seen a girl play drums like that... Most other times was when I took my gf out to dinner. She was actually taller than I was, and had even longer, straight brown hair. She was absolutely breath taking.... "....What would you ladies like to order?...." Lol! I always laughed it off though. Never upset me one bit.
HamsterVormFenster (2 years ago)
I think the reason it's so easy to get the impression that all butch women have big boobs is because the ones that don't pass as male - even towards lesbians.
Elizani Bayardo (2 years ago)
I get mistaken for a guy all the time. I look like a 12 yr old boy. In society like this I can understand why. I get hit on by gay men at gay clubs. Arielle is right to try and give advice. yes it's embarrassing when in public restrooms and I usually try to go with a friend but it also give a funny story. no you don't have to explain yourself if you don't want to but if you look like a dude you're gonna get mistaken as a dude. Why is it their fault they think you're a guy? don't be offended, and if you don't want to educate people dont. in 20 years from now that might not be an issue. But if you are rude about it you're gonna leave a bad taste in their mouth for the rest of us.
hannannah1uk (2 years ago)
+Elizani Bayardo Always I look like a 12 year old boy too. How come we never look like 35?
R Grant (2 years ago)
It easy to say that you shouldn't get offended when you don't have to deal with the issue on a daily basis. I'm masculine presenting with small boobs and literally everywhere I go i am constantly questioned and misgendered to the point that I avoid public gendered areas altogether. So, respectfully Arielle, I disagree with you. I shouldn't have to prove myself and explain my gender identity to everyone I meet all of the time, and be expected to be courteous and take the time to educate everyone I meet. Don't attempt to give "advice" about something you have no experience with.
Amelia Wooh (2 years ago)
To answer the rhetorical question at the beginning of the video: this one can *points at self with both hands*
Taylor Garrett (2 years ago)
I've been missed gendered and I never know what to say. Like someone at a store will be like "have a nice day, sir." And I'm like "Thanks, you too." And then since they heard my girly voice they will be like "I uh yes, thank you, mam!" And they get embarrassed and idk how to deal with this. I don't want them to think I'm attacking them if I correct them, but I don't want to embarrass them.
Lady Red (3 years ago)
Ariella, go gentle. butches can be so sensitive. dated one
austin fernando (3 years ago)
i don't know why someone who is cross dressing would get angry because someone got their gender/sexuality wrong because you can't tell by looking if their trans or whatever, it follows that trans-men should also politely say they're not butch lesbians because there is nothing wrong with being any gender/sexual orientation. (obviously getting annoyed/upset etc at being misgendered is kind of part of your gender i.d. but honest mistakes should be treated as such. btw i'm male but i.d. as a woman, i wouldn't get pissed at any genuine confusion, there's no need)
We Can't Be Friends (3 years ago)
I had a guy follow me into the bathroom because he only saw my short hair and unisex work uniform from behind. Anyway I didn't say anything, he peed with the stall door open... I washed my hands and left, laughing my ass off once the door shut. Then this old lady walked in as he was leaving. Anyway me and the old lady about bust a seam laughing as this guy (who seemed really into gender roles) left.
Elena Rovira (3 years ago)
This happened to me except at a party at my house they said do you have siblings dude I said ya I have one brother and the 4 of us are the girls of the fam he said oh so ur the one brother and I was like ima killllll youuuu
FlameHazeKatsu K.T. (3 years ago)
well, since it happens most of the time, idc anymore and sometimes wouldn't even bother correcting, instead I'll just play along. quite amusing, I must say :p

"No I'm not a dude, but I will steal yo girl
When I am misgendered I immediately use the highest pitched voice I can use and say, "I AM A MAN!"
Taylor Speer (3 years ago)
I have tiny butch boobs and I'm more then greatful for this
Violet P (3 years ago)
My only problem with this is.. it probably gets really exhausting to always have to "educate" those who misgender you... and why does it have to be your duty to educate people?
franka91 (3 years ago)
why would you misgender someone on purpose? do you think trans people are the only ones hurt by being misgendered? like wtf. you didnt even see that butch girl as a "man", like a cis man, cos you specified you thought she was a TRANS man. so like, why would you do that? you didn't wanna misgender someone cos they MIGHT be trans, but you have no problem misgendering a woman. why is that you care about more trans people being misgendered than people who aren't trans? why cant women dress however they want without it being associated with being a man? why do people still give a fuck about gender roles and gendered clothes? Idk i find this offensive and i'm not even butch (but i have been misgendered a few times when i was younger)

Cat Lady (3 years ago)
I actually find it hilarious when people misgender me, since I have very short hair, but big boobs (I'm not really a butch, I'm more a tomboy, but I usually wear large t-shirts so most people don't notice that I have a D cup). I think it's the short (shaved, actually) hair. I also wear make up when I'm not working, most of the times red lipstick and/or black eye liner. Still, many people misgender me. But that's ok, I sort of like it, it's as if I wanted people to misgender me :)
dark6tails19 (3 years ago)
Weirdly I never get offended if people mistake me for a guy. I actually find it useful when I go out with my girl, we never get judged by homophobes since they think we're a straight couple.
Sal Amander (3 years ago)
The reason most butch lesbians have big breasts is because most butch lesbians are fat or obese. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
FuckAssUpNigga (3 years ago)
I've been misgendered quite often, and it normally doesn't bother me. If I'm wearing baggy, form-hiding clothes I understand why people would think masculine. The times I get annoyed are when I look/dress very feminine. The times I get very annoyed are when the person makes SUCH a big deal over saying the wrong pronoun. I get it, you fucked up once, accidentally. Spending a solid minute apologizing is more awkward and upsetting than getting called "sir" :-p
TricobaltInvocation (3 years ago)
I don't know about being a "butch woman" but from the standpoint of being a more feminine bio male (gender fluid) When I am misgendered I try to remind people to simply ask (like asking someone's favorite color).
Well, I said hello to this girl a few times, and Idk if she's in a gender changing proccess or if she just likes guys clothes and haircuts, but I said hello and handshook her as if she was a guy, 2 times, and it will probably keep on happening.

I actually think it's super funny when people mistake me for a guy this one time a kid was on his tricycle and he couldn't stop staring because he was trying to figure it out and he crashed into a bush. Priceless.. :)
Mario Sanchez (3 years ago)
I get confused when people .. get confused .. but then I remember some people don't have a gay radar lol
Sarah Durant (3 years ago)
It's awkward when you get door-checked (the woman steps back and checks that the sign on the bathroom door), but a lot of us have faced much more aggressive responses, threats, and some experience physical violence. We all know how often people are murdered based on their gender expression and/or identity (I'm sorry if I'm latching onto trans narratives, but y'all are family; we share some stuff). Getting gender-checked can be terrifying in certain contexts, and maybe that's given us a little PTSD. Maybe we should try not to get defensive against polite mistakes, but on our end, we face violent consequences for being authentic. Don't trivialize that.

0:44 IS SO TRUE!
darkservantofheaven (3 years ago)
I'm not gonna lie, but Marissa is cute. For real. I mean shes not really "a manly butch lesbian" she more of a tomboy lesbian. I mean she still looks like a girl, but its definitely a girl I could go to a ball game with with out worrying about her checking out the players (unless the players are women) or we can hit the strip club together fuck I miss my lesbian friends from college..
Camille Mokai (3 years ago)
omg YES, I never know what pronouns to use cause I'm always thinking "lesbian or transman?" and I feel like if I say "she" (s)he might be like "oh, I'm not passable :c", but if I say "he" its just.. ugh. what is my life

I don't ever get offended when people mistake me for a guy actually I think it's really funny. I've always been a Tomboy I dress like guy and act like one so its not their if they think I'm a guy! Onetime I walked out of the women's bathroom and this guy looked at me and walked in!!! I looked back and he hurried out and the. Looked at me real confused!

I get misgendered constantly because I wear suits and ties as part of my profession. If its not someone I'm going to see again, I just don't say anything. If someone who I am going to see again a lot or work with misgenders me I always say, "Good effort, but..."
courtney hall-lovely (3 years ago)
My girlfriend is butch and has small boobs :) when were out in public she can't even go to the bathroom (a lot of the time) because she gets too many glares.
kezlou87 (3 years ago)
It wasn't funny in December when both me and my girlfriend were screamed out of a women's toilets by a cinema manager, security guard and an area manager. And not just told to leave, frogmarched out of the cinema. I have a 44H chest that was in view, and yet was humiliated in front of an entire foyer full of people and being told I was male. We haven't even had an apology from the cinema in question. So, no, this video isn't that funny. Disappointed and hurt by this video.
Ashlee Walker (3 years ago)
I don't get offended I understand. I look like one have short hair. How can I get mad, plus I'd be mad all the time.
Anthony Rizzo (3 years ago)
Long before I knew there was such a thing as transgender let alone possibly identifying as such on several different occasions people thought I was female and I never felt offended. Come to think about it that definitely was a clue.

Sometimes, though, educating people is tiring. It's like, okay, I have to educate you about the diversity you can see and the diversity you can't? When do I get to live my life? (Note: I'm also an educator for a living, so it's not something I always want to take on outside my job.)
Vice Gucci (3 years ago)
I went to DC with my cousin, his mom, sister, dad, and little brother... And I was waiting for his mom and sister to come out of the bathroom and a little girl said "the boys bathroom is over there" and all I did was nod... Curse me and liking hoodies!
Example_of (3 years ago)
Apart from one occasion, I've  always been mistaken as a guy by middle aged men. After awhile I stopped getting  mad and correcting them, now I'm just like 'whatever I fit the dude category and you fit the age where you think I'm a dude category'.
Kerowyn Davies (3 years ago)

Going4Miles (3 years ago)
There are people who look gender ambiguous and they may not even be trans and their sexual orientation has nothing to do with it.  I think that it's society who needs to change.  Plain and simple, if you see someone who's gender is difficult to read, don't jump to conclusions about him or her and don't even bother to guess or question their gender.  That's rude.  Don't let it bother you, just leave them alone.  This is a stupid video.
Daniel Sultana (3 years ago)
You mention the word butch so often, that I now basically understand what it means (and I'm talking basically, not specifically, and what I gather so far is a lesbian who dresses to look like a men as possible, a female transvestite (dress and act as male) if I may, who believes to be female and likes other females. Whats the other kind of lesbian called? ie the kind the I accidentally hit on??
Daniel Sultana (3 years ago)
+Daniel Sultana Also are the butch girls more likely to like girly girls, whilst the girly girls more likely to like the butch girls???
