I apologize. Since there was no water added then u don't need preservative. U only need one when water is added or if there change water can get inside your product. And the poly 20 or 80 isn't necessary in this recipe. I guess should finished watching video before commenting and I apologize for that cause its great video.

U can add a preservative and that keep from worrying about mold and bacteria. Some think vitamin e and other are preservatives but really they aren't. I make candles, wax melts, soaps, and several other bath nd body products and u can get preservatives from online companies that carry products like that. I use bramble berry or nature's garden (just to name couple) they are reasonable on prices and shipping rates. They are also very helpful and respond to your emails really fast of u need help on deciding which u should use. Where I live the town doesn't have a hobby store avaliable and closest hobby lobby is 30 min away but I not had whole lot luck even there on most my supplies and they tend to be almost double in cost than my online suppliers. Also u can add polysorbate 20 or poly 80 (depending on ur ingredients which u use) and those help bind your ingredients together so they don't seperate. In this recipe I would use poly 20. But if u don't add a preservative then I would make a small batch up like once or twice week. And prob refrigerate it in between uses. But adding pres. Will last most time months to a year :) hope this helps

erica 💋 (2 years ago)
+K3zz21 It breaks down the components in the gel! Thanks for watching 😃

why do you use sea salt?
erica 💋 (3 years ago)
You can use any salt. I use sea salt because it's not digestible (non-iodized), so it's great for cooking without the excess salt. Thanks for watching!! :)
