In Vogue: The Editors Eye (2012) . Thank you for watching and if you love this movies ,please like, share and comment , I hope You will Like and Subcribe to see more ?. This documentary highlights the role of the behind the scenes Fashion Editors at Vogue US. Of course, Grace Coddington, is known more widely but many of the others shown are the anonymous creatives behind many of Vogue's iconic front covers. The Editors are the interface between the technicians - the photographers (Liebovitz and Irving Penn being just two) - and ultimately the business end, Anna Wintour. The film gives an insight into the journey through the various eras of fashion and how it serves as a reflection of what is going on in society. Although it is often hard to reconcile whether it is life imitating art or art imitating life. But essentially it is style that persists. In the iconic words of one of its most colourful editors, Carlyne Cerf de Dudzweele: "Style is not a season. Nothing is ever demode if it is a good piece. Nothing, nothing, nothing." In Episode 2 of the Fashion East documentary, we follow the journey of Lulu Kennedy’s newest recruits for their first shows with the designer mentorship scheme, and learn what exactly it takes to become part of Fashion East. First up is recent MA graduate and menswear designer Stefan Cooke, who digitally manipulates timeless fabrics and classic charity shop gems, reproducing the print onto flexible synthetic materials, dressing an army of princes for battle on the runway. To find out what it takes to become a designer, we join Lulu at an inspirational talk to fashion students at Central Saint Martins, meeting the up and coming names who have a Fashion East sponsorship in their sights. Finally we’re introduced to Charlotte Knowles, a womenswear designer that specialises in the tension between revealing and concealing, and the Fashion East team call her into the office for a chat about opportunities in the near future… How do you make the leap from fashion graduate to fully fledged designer? What do the Fashion East team look for in a newcomer? And after having just joined the scheme, will Stefan be ready to show at MAN? What is FASHION JOURNALISM? What does FASHION JOURNALISM mean? FASHION JOURNALISM meaning

What is FASHION JOURNALISM? What does FASHION JOURNALISM mean? FASHION JOURNALISM meaning - FASHION JOURNALISM definition - FASHION JOURNALISM explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Fashion journalism involves all aspects of published fashion media, including fashion writers, fashion critics, and fashion reporters. This can be fashion features in magazines and newspapers, and may also include books about fashion, fashion related reports on television and online fashion magazines, websites, and blogs. The work of a fashion journalist can be quite varied. Typical work includes writing or editing articles, or helping to formulate and style a fashion shoot. A fashion journalist typically spends a lot of time researching and conducting interviews and it is essential that he or she has good contacts with people in the fashion industry, including photographers, designers, and public relations specialists. Fashion journalists are either employed full-time by a publication or are employed on a freelance basis. A fashion website named Fashion Net was started in 1995. It was soon followed by American Fashion Mall and French ELLE. Fashion Live produced Internet's first live fashion webcast of Yves Saint Laurent's runway show in 1996. CNN Style and Hint Magazine arrived in 1998. The following year saw the rise and fall of Boo.com as the company burned through $135 million in 18 months. Style.com, the online umbrella for Vogue and W, started in 2000. Style.com is not a journalistic website but a resource to show the complete collections of selected fashion shows (among the most notorious brands) each season. Following a tiff in 2007, W left Style.com making it the online home for Vogue alone. In late 2000, Beauty Flow magazine flourished with exclusive content for editorials, portraits, and reports. Fashion journalism is only now becoming a subject of academic interest, as for a long time it has been under a general Journalism umbrella term. With the rise of social media, cross-platform content production, and democratization of fashion around the world - interest in the study of fashion journalism is rising quickly. Since 2013 fashion journalism has become a stand-alone subject of academic study at the Academy of Art University's School of Fashion in San Francisco, and it is the only accredited Fashion Journalism program offering BA and MA degrees in the United States.

Lulu Chen on Learning Art Director Skills for Fashion Photo Shoots

02:21
In Chapter 12 of 16 in her 2012 Capture Your Flag interview, art director Lulu Chen answers "What Has Taking Direction as a Stylist Taught You About Giving Direction as an Art Director?" Working on-set as a fashion stylist, Chen gets to work with a variety of talented art directors and creative directors. She learns how approach and prepare for jobs as well as how to motivate teams and stay organized in deadline-driven environments. Lulu Chen is a photo art director working in retail e-commerce in New York City. Previously, Chen worked as a freelance stylist for leading fashion catalogs and magazines. She earned a BFA in design and art history from the University of Michigan. Capture Your Flag is a career documentary interview series that interviews 60 up and coming leaders annually to gather knowledge and share a Near Peer Learning experience its audience may use to better plan, pursue and achieve life and career aspirations. Discover more at http://www.captureyourflag.com/ Follow us on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/captureyourflag Like us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/captureyourflag Transcript: Erik Michielsen: What has taking direction as a stylist taught you about giving direction as an art director? Lulu Chen: Well, I was lucky enough to work with a lot of different art directors. And if I had been an art director coming up the ranks, just as an art director, I think I would’ve been limited to how many different approaches and different people that I could’ve worked with, so I was very lucky and I worked with a lot of really talented art directors and creative directors. And what I learned from them is some really great ways on prepping jobs, how their approach was, how they communicate, and then not to sound negative but also what not to do. So, you know, all the things to do and strive for, and then some of the things that maybe, you know, I should try not to do. So my take away from that is that organization is really helpful. And sometimes it’s hard because you’re wearing the creative hat, but you really have to get things done in a timely manner, you know, there’s always deadlines. And there’s a lot of money at stake, you know, photo shoots are expensive, you have to get certain things done in a day or two days, and it’s a lot of pressure, to see how other people handle that, to see how people communicate well—actually, how they also motivated and inspired their teams, was really nice to see. So I did learn a lot as a stylist. I was able to observe. Erik Michielsen: And so now you’re on the other side of the fence. Lulu Chen: Oh, definitely. I definitely try and keep all those things in mind, you know, all the things that worked for me, or that I really appreciated, and I try and do that as well. But it’s funny because a lot of people tell me that I’m so nice, and—which you’d think is a compliment but sometimes I am like, “Did they not think it’s genuine?” Because I like someone speaking to me in a certain way so I’m going to try and speak to everyone else in that tone, you know. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not gonna be able to get my job done, you know. But I think it’s always nicer to talk to people in a nice way, right? Yeah, it’s like I don’t have—I don’t wanna go there unless I really have to.
