In today's Q & A we finally answer so many of the questions you've been asking about adoption. We adopted 5 of our 9 children - all of them from China. In today's vlog we answer as many questions as we can (in a reasonable amount of time) including "How much does it cost to Adopt" and "How did your biological children react to adoption?" Check it out but also know that we WILL do another because adoption is a complex subject and there were many really good questions that we never got to. Single Moms who Travel with Children
Single moms who travel with their children are not easy to find, especially if they are people of color. www.Myspoclife.com celebrates the life of Candace and Bean. It is always a pleasure to meet and interact with other parents of color, or just parents in general who dare to see the world with their children. Candace spends some time speaking with fellow minimalist, world traveler and single mom, Shara and her son Symba, before they take off to realize their dreams of becoming world travelers. Beautiful Memories: Sharing Travel with Children
Allow me to share a private moment of reflection about the fun I once had with our family, here on this Algarve beach in Portugal. Sure, it’s great to be footloose and fancy-free in your travels. But, surrounded by young families and recalling family fun, I’m reminded how great it is to share those travels with kids. Some places are more kid-friendly than others. The Algarve — before the heat and crowds of peak season — is ideal. What are some great destinations for family travel that you’ve discovered? (By the way, next week my son, Andy Steves, will be assisting a seasoned Rick Steves guide on one of our Best of Europe tours. And my daughter, Jackie, is inspiring LA high school students — through literature rather than travel — in her English classes.)

How To Handle BEGGING CHILDREN: Child Beggars While Traveling
SKIP TO: * Why shouldn't I give money to begging children?: 1:07 * Our first experience with a begging child: 2:45 * Why you shouldn't ignore child beggars: 4:45 * What you can give instead of money: 5:59 * What WE Do: 8:08 * Our Success Story: 9:47 Hello, again. This video is a bit more serious. During our travels around South East Asia, we've noticed children begging for money or working and trying to sell you something. At first, we didn't know the best way to handle begging children. Many families in Cambodia, Thailand, India, and more will take their children out of school to beg tourists to buy their souvenirs. After a day of seeing and interacting with these begging children, I discovered a great way of communicating them which could possibly help them and their future. How to travel India with two children on a budget - 2 Travelling Tots - Asian Adventure
Welcome to 2 Travelling Tots - India In March we travelled India with our two tots. It was one of the best experiences of our lives There's so much different opinions about India, but we were so glad we went to experience it for ourselves. Whilst in India, we experience the Holi Festival in India, (our vlog of that day is here http://2travellingtots.com/how-to-survive-holi-festival-with-kids-in-pushkar/) We were located in Rajasthan for most of our trip and we can't recommend it enough. We hope you enjoy our video ============= Who are 2 Travelling tots? We are the Nicholson-Simpson’s…yes, I know, it’s a bit of a mouthful, so feel free to think of us as just the Simpson’s (not THOSE Simpson’s, but still). We are currently a family of 4 – I’m Laura (aka Mummy), my husband is Mark (aka Daddy) and then there’s “the boys” who are 3 years old (aka the big one, aka Alfie) and 9 months old (aka the little one, aka Charlie). We are loud (Daddy), we are messy (Mummy) and we do not believe in the sanctity of sleep (the boys)!!! Just your average family…well almost…we travel…quite a lot… and we love it! The idea behind this blog is to keep an almost diary of our travels. We have always loved to travel, both before and with the boys and where it has largely been part time since the monsters came along, we have recently made the decision to make it a bit more of a lifestyle choice…yep that’s what I’m calling it. Maybe people (yes that’s you) will read it and like it…maybe I’ll drive people nuts and they won’t! Let’s find out shall we… at the very least, it will be something for us to look back on in years to come and think “yep, we did that…and it was amazing!”. Please feel free to subscribe to us, we’d love to hear your stories and thoughts on ours…

Traveling by Taxi with a Child
(RideSafer Vest shown is a previous model.) This is for all the parents who transport their children via taxi, car service or ride share where you don't want to haul your car seat along with you. In big cities like New York and Singapore, this is how parents get around. We've heard from a couple of parents about some unsafe practices they engage in, some were even advised by their doctor. Backpacker couple travels to 23 countries with 3 children on budget of just NT$1.3 million
Last September, Lai Yu-ting and her husband Sunny decided to sell their home and travel the world with their three sons, aged 5, 3 and 1. The trip cost just NT$1.3 million. Today the passionate backpacker and mother-of-three came to Taipei from her home in Kaohsiung, to share her experience of the family’s 256-day adventure. This is Lai Yu-ting. She may not look like an intercontinental traveler. But in fact, just last month she returned home from an extended trip round the world with her husband and three small boys.Lai Yu-ting BackpackerWhile we were planning the trip, we realized we could take this time to travel to more places, to go even further. So we folded the map right out, andended updrawing a trip all around the world. My husband and I have been travelling for ages. We were always travelling, with one kid, two kids, or three. For the children, traveling is just part of life.Last year, Lai Yu-ting and her husband Sunnytook unpaid leave from work, sold their house to cover travel expenses and proceeded to take their three sonsacross 23 countries, traversing Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. While it might sound like a dream come true, the tour was not without its share of hair-raising experiences.Lai Yu-ting BackpackerWhen we were at the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt trying to cross the border to Israel, my husband spotted someone with a sniper rifle aimed right at him. Terrified, he immediately shouted to them that he wouldn’t come any closer. That experience was pretty terrifying.Despite all the setbacks and precarious situations they have encountered, the couple’s wanderlust has not diminished in the least, and they plan to go on many more adventures in future.

10 Tips for Flying With a Toddler
https://MamaNatural.com 🔅 And I thought traveling with a newborn was hard... with a toddler, it's a whole new ballgame! But I'm happy to report that in the past month, our family flew to San Diego (4 hour flight) and Fort Meyers (2 1/2 hour flight) with no meltdowns or hysterics. Woo hoo! Here are the top tips for traveling with toddlers that I've learned along the way. Find a flight that isn't too fullNot always possible, but when you can, chose flights that aren't that full. You can see how many seats are still available when you book your flight and want to chose your seat. If you see lots of empty spots, book that flight! If you see only a few openings in the rear, keep looking. Schedule flights during naptime or bedtime Our mantra is the less baby is awake on plane, the better for everyone around you. Griffin isn't the easiest guy to fall asleep and even he went down easily on several flights. Having the middle seat open helps a ton since baby has his/her own "space." You and daddy can then tag team soothing to get baby to nap (back rubs, keeping them from trying to climb all over, singing, stroking hair, etc.) Can't find a flight that works during normal sleeping hours? No worries. Encourage baby to take a late afternoon or mid morning "catnap" which can do wonders. Book an aisle and window seat. This might sound counterintuitive as we normally want to sit next to our husband, child or travel companion but this way you have a better chance of scoring the middle seat and acquiring the whole row for your family. Arrive at the gate early and talk with flight attendant If you book a flight that isn't full, most airline attendants will move things around for you to get the empty middle seat. One tip, when you go to talk to him/her, bring your baby with you. It brings your challenging scenario to "life" a bit more and helps breed compassion :). If child is under 2, bring proof of age Griffin has been on 1/2 dozen flights and we've NEVER been asked this until our flight home last week. According to FAA regulations, all lap children need some sort of identification to show "proof of age." (Aw, isn't that cute... they are getting "carded"). Medical records, copy of a birth certificate or even a picture of your child's certificate that you can show via your phone will all work. Bring extra diapers, drinks and food on hand You want to be prepared for on flight blowouts and the munchies. Just like we tend to eat more junk at the airport, I pack treats for Griffin since it's a special occasion. Some ideas include: freeze-dried fruit, Wasa crackers (Griffin loves to chew on and 1 cracker takes him 1/2 hour to finish. Great distraction!), grapes, Starbucks smoothies, ice chips from the online drink service. Bring special toys and books This goes without saying but pack toys and books for plane. Since we don't want to carryon heavy luggage, chose a few of the choicest toys you own. For us, this can include Griffin's musical book, an etch a sketch and toy phone. Regular old books are great additions since it gets the child to be still and sleepy. Not to mention, they can copy what many adults are doing around them... READING. Dress your little one in layers Planes can be cold. Planes can be hot. If you dress your tot in layers, you can roll with any temperature with ease. Wear a nursing shirt For many youngsters, nursing is a soothing activity for take offs, landings and before nap time. My favorite shirt is Mountain Mama's Olema shirt since it has 2 layers and keeps my belly covered. Chose one that works for you. Bring a pillow onboard OK, sounds kinda fussy, but find a really soft, packable pillow to bring onboard. This will help soothe the child and make holding, cuddling and nursing much much more comfortable. Even when we didn't get the middle seat on one flight, Griffin fell asleep on me thanks to the softness of a pillow. And if you DO get the middle seat, you have an instant pillow top mattress! So there you have it... our top 10 tips when traveling with toddler. Now if I could only find a way to neutralize all timezones... LOL! How about you? HORRIBLE TWO DAYS: Solo Travel with My Toddler in Lisbon, Portugal
Our beautiful time in Lisbon took a very difficult turn--these were our hardest, worst days by far. I lost my US SIM card, accidentally locked my Portuguese SIM card, locked my kid and myself out of our apartment WITH NO SHOES ON, and then I shut my daughter's fingers in a door. If it could have gone wrong, it went wrong. And no one was coming to save me. MUSIC: Music by BENSOUND http://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-... The Birth of Jesus Christ | Christmas Story for Kids | Animated Children's Bible Stories Holy Tales
Watch other amazing Bible Stories like Dniel and the Lion's Den, Miracles of jesus Christ, Birth of Jesus, Cain ad Abel, Noahs Ark, Joseph, Moses and many more - https://goo.gl/gjBdtQ The History behind the Birth of Jesus in the Christmas Story The census that was ordered by Caesar Augustus was the first of its kind. It was done because the Roman government wanted to make sure that everyone in the Empire was paying their taxes correctly. The census was carried out all over Empire (most of Europe): but in Palestine, it was carried out in a Jewish way rather than a Roman way. This meant that families had to register in the their historical tribal town rather than where they lived. This also meant that Joseph and the very pregnant Mary would have had to travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem, as this was town that Joseph's family (the royal family of David) originally came from - a journey of about 70 miles (112 kilometres). Some people think that Bethlehem could also have been Joseph's actual home town and he'd traveled to Nazareth to collect Mary once they were betrothed/married to take to his home town to initially live. The journey would have taken about three days and they might well have arrived in the evening, because if they had arrived earlier in the day, it is more likely that they would have found somewhere to stay. In those times, there weren't really such things as motels or inns, you normally would have stayed with some extended family or relations. A more accurate translation of 'inn' would be 'guest room'. You would normally stay with extended family in their ‘guest room’ but as it was a busy time the guest room was already full. Most houses would have been shared with the animals that the family kept. Houses had two levels, the upper/mezzanine level where people slept and the ground floor where the animals slept at night and the family lived during the day. The animals were a kind of 'central heating' at night keeping the house warm! The 'guest room' was often an area on the upper/mezzanine level or even a hut put on the flat roof of the house! As many people would have traveled to Bethlehem for the census, all the houses, or certainly upper levels were full. Many people think that Jesus was probably born in September or October during Sukkot, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, rather than during December. During the festival, Jews live outside in temporary shelters (the word 'tabernacle' come from a latin word meaning 'booth' or 'hut'). So Joseph and Mary probably had to sleep with the animals on the low level (where it’s common to have a manger cut into a wall where you put the animal food) or possibly (but unlikely) out in a stable, cave or even a covered market stall that sold animals (these stalls could be rented during tabernacles). It was the custom in those times to wrap a new born baby very tightly in long bandages called swaddling clothes. The arms and legs of the baby were also wrapped, so they couldn't move. This was done because they thought it helped the baby to grow strong, straight limbs! And as no proper crib was available, the new baby boy was placed in a manger, or feeding trough. There's a theory that Jesus might have been born a couple of miles outside of Bethlehem where there was a special shepherds' watch tower called the Migdal Eder. So Jesus might have been born out with the shepherds. The birth of Jesus probably didn't happen in the year 0 but slightly earlier, in about 5, 6 or 7 BCE/BC. The dates that we use now were set by Monks and religious leaders in the Middle Ages and before. It's also quite likely that Jesus was actually born in the autumn (during Tabernacles), not in the winter! It can get very cold in the winter in Israel and it is thought that the census would have most likely taken place during the spring or autumn, at a when many pilgrims, from all over the country, came to visit Jerusalem (which is about six miles from Bethlehem).
