Japanese Street Food - LIVE FUGU PUFFERFISH Puffer Fish Japan

15:03
Fugu (河豚 or 鰒; フグ) is the Japanese word for pufferfish and the dish prepared from it, normally species of genus Takifugu, Lagocephalus, or Sphoeroides, or porcupinefish of the genus Diodon. Fugu can be lethally poisonous due to its tetrodotoxin; therefore, it must be carefully prepared to remove toxic parts and to avoid contaminating the meat. The restaurant preparation of fugu is strictly controlled by law in Japan and several other countries, and only chefs who have qualified after three or more years of rigorous training are allowed to prepare the fish. Domestic preparation occasionally leads to accidental death. Fugu is served as sashimi and chirinabe. Some consider the liver to be the tastiest part, but it is also the most poisonous, and serving this organ in restaurants was banned in Japan in 1984. Fugu has become one of the most celebrated and notorious dishes in Japanese cuisine.

Fish Chumming DIY: How To Make The Best Saltwater Fish Chum

04:04
Want to know how to make the best fish chum? In this video, Chasten Whitfield reveals how many of the top guides in Florida make their chum (used to attract whitebait, pinfish, and other live bait). As you will see in the video, the best chum for saltwater fishing isn't very complicated (or expensive). Simply use Purina Tropical Fish Food (comes in a 50lb bag) and some Menhaden oil mixed together with water. Once you have the right chum consistency, it should ball up nicely and start attracting a ton of bait fish. The best news is that this fish chum mixture has worked well on everything from shallow grass flats to water as deep as 18 feet. Do you have any fish chumming tips? Let us know in the comments. Bringing Fish Up from the Deep | Engineering Is

05:20
Fish that live in the twilight zone region of the ocean are a crucial part of a vastly under-studied ecosystem. When fish are brought up to the surface for study, the change in pressure between their native depth (200-500 feet) and sea level often causes fatal damages to their anatomy. Watch how a team of scientists from the California Academy of Sciences designs and builds a portable chamber that creates a pressure-controlled environment for these animals, so they can safely transport them from the twilight zone to the aquarium. For more about this story, go to: http://science.kqed.org/quest/video/bringing-fish-up-from-the-deep/ Transcript: - One of the most interesting parts of the ocean for me is this area that we call the Twilight Zone, which is this narrow band of the ocean between about 200 and 500 feet below the surface of the water. It's mysterious, it's unknown, it's sort of enchanting and captivating, but also it's an area where literally, the light is like twilight. - This twilight zone is part of the coral reef, but it's a part that's very understudied. About half of the fish are not known, and nobody goes down there because there's a lot of technical difficulties associated in going there. So a lot of the times, those deep reefs are being destroyed even before we identify what's down there. - It wasn't until really recent years that we've had sophisticated and reliable diving equipment that allowed people to actually go down there and come back. One of the most challenging aspects of this diving really is the pressure. The deeper you go in the ocean, the more and more pressure is stacking up, and that's essentially just all of that water that's over your head pressing down on your body. One of the first things we recognized is that the fish that we wanted to bring up from the depths were subject to the same decompression issues that humans are. - So most fish have swim bladders. It's a little chamber filled with gas that keeps them neutrally buoyant, so if they didn't have a swim bladder because the fish, their tissues, are heavier than water, it will just sink. If you capture a fish at those depths and just bring him to the surface, that swim bladder is going to inflate. The gas expands inversely to the pressure. The swim bladder expands, it pushes the stomach away, it pushes the heart, the heart stops beating, and then everything else collapses just because the swim bladder takes the space of everything. - And then there's an antheus in here somewhere. It's from Hawaii. - I had started to hear about the idea of the academy going down and exploring deep under the ocean with divers and possibly collecting fish down there, and since my job is to make sure that those fish come back healthy, I thought about different ways that we could make sure that they could handle that pressure change. Is there a way that we can seal the fish up at pressure, keep them at the pressure that they were collected at, and then bring them to the surface and slowly decompress them over a period of a few days, so that we don't have to have any of that trauma. What we wanted to do was to take the pressure chamber underwater with us. We knew that if we wanted to dive with it, it needed to be sturdy yet sleek yet light yet all these things that's sort of our design compromises. And it also needs to, of course, be able to handle the immense amount of pressure that's on it. The first sort of flash bulb over the head idea that we had was to use a water filter housing. They're used for home water filtration. It's about two gallons, it's enough space for our fish to live in that space for about 24 hours while we decompress them, and that's a cheap off the shelf unit, you can get one for about $100, but then we just heavily modified it. This is the main pressure canister, or the main pressure chamber. I mean it's basically tinkering on a grand scale. I mean I played with Legos as a kid, and this is like real adult Legos, right? Putting all these things together and seeing how they work and seeing how an idea that is brand new that nobody's ever done before, seeing how it works in the real world is great. It's a dream job. - [Bart] It's a portable, submersible, deep compression chamber. You just pull the velcro up and stick the fish in and seal the velcro. And then once we were done with the collecting, make sure that we sealed it all up tight, make sure it holds the pressure, and then we start our ascent. - [Matt] They bring it up to the boat, and then we connect it to a water supply and our pressure generating pump, and that pushes water through the canister, so that the fish start to get a water change. We keep it like that for the next 24 hours while we slowly start to bleed off that pressure until it's at surface pressure.

Living up a bum - The Sea Cucumber and Pearl Fish

05:44
They say 'Home is where the heart is', well for some 'Home is where the bum is'.. Wait! What? Backup! Yep you heard right 'Home is where the bum is', if you're a pearl fish and that bum is a sea cucumber. Sea cucumbers are sausage shape animals that are found on the bottom of the ocean where they vacuum up the sand and filter out all the good bits. It seems as though pearl fish have taken a bit of a fancy for some particular sea cucumbers and set up house in their rear end. Why? Is it the million dollar ocean views? We asked all these questions and more. The upside is, any place you live from now on is going to seem like paradise. What Lives At The BOTTOM Of The Mariana Trench?

11:45
Do you ever wonder what lives at the bottom of the mariana trench? This top 10 list of creepy deep sea monsters has some giant and bizarre creatures that are scary and mysterious! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Frilled Shark The frilled shark has been around a long, LONG time. They’re ‘living fossils’, thought to have been swimming around for anywhere between 95 and 300 million years! Also while they were first discovered in approx 1880 they weren’t actually described until 2004 (the same ROV mission as the barreleye fish). This is one predator that really knows how to keep its head down. It lives at a depth of over 5,000 ft (1524 m). 9. Hatchet Fish Okay so if you came face to face with this dude you’d get one hell of a shock right? Meet the deep sea hatchet fish, so called because of its metallic, hatchet-shaped appearance. It can be found 5,000 ft (1,524 m) down. The metal like quality comes from its scales which is just as well because if it weren’t so shiny you’d have trouble seeing it! 8. Seadevil Anglerfish You’ve probably seen this one in the movies. A seadevil anglerfish appeared in Finding Nemo and the image has been used in some high profile shows like The Simpsons. They were first described in 1864 and can live at a depth of over 6,000 feet (1900 m). Like many deep sea species its movements are mysterious to experts and the only one filmed alive was in 2014. 7. Telescope Octopus Some deep sea animals like to take it easy, I mean there’s a lot of pressure down there!! Maybe none more so than the telescope octopus. Living anywhere from 500 - 6,500 ft (150 - 2000 m) below the surface it’s really laid back. In fact that’s literally what it does… lie back and use its eyes to look up for any food swimming by. 6. Benthocodon Usually when you think of a jellyfish you think of a transparent wobbly thing that stings your foot. Well not this one. The benthocodon isn’t transparent. It has a round, red top which is 2 - 3 cm in diameter and it won’t sting you unless you run into it 2,500 ft (762 m) below the surface. You’d have to be pretty crazy to be at that depth and even crazier without any flippers! 5. Barreleye Fish This fish with a transparent head shocked viewers when it appeared on Blue Planet! Also known as a “spookfish” it has a jelly-like forehead that allows it to look up through its skull, giving it greater visibility! Pretty freaky huh? It is a very efficient hunter that can live at a depth of at least 2,600 feet (800 m) and can be anywhere from 15 to 40 cm long. 4. Goblin Shark This shark is one ugly shark, hence why we call it the goblin shark! Of course I wouldn’t say that to its face poor thing! But its sword-like snout and prehistoric appearance makes it truly unique. 3. Zombie Worm Zombie worms, also known as bone-eating worms, were discovered by accident in 2002 when they appeared to be drilling into the skeletons of dead animals like whales and fish. This confused experts because they looked too squishy to be able to drill like that, but that is how they got their name. The answer came later on in 2012. 2. Foraminifera Foraminifera or ‘fora’ are tiny organisms from the ‘protist’ family. They vary between 100 micrometers and around 20 cm. Because many of them are so small and I’m guessing chewy, they are a prime source of food in the Mariana Trench. That’s a shame because there’s a lot more to these little things than meets the eye. 1. Ping Pong Tree Sponge The strangest name on our list is also the nastiest! Sure, Ping Pong Tree Sponge sounds like something out of Spongebob Squarepants and it’s one beautiful-looking life form. But despite this charming exterior this isn’t a thing to be messed with! It lives nearly 9000 ft (2743 m) underwater and if you’re a small creature it spells bad news. Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

Dead Sea (Ezekiel) Prophecy Fulfilled ! Israel News! Fish swimming along Dead Sea's shores!

09:36
“And it shall come to pass in that day that living waters shall go out from Yerushalayim: half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in summer and in winter shall it be.” Zechariah 14:8 (The Israel Bible™) Then said he unto me: ‘These waters issue forth toward the eastern region and shall go down into the Arabah; and when they shall enter into the sea into the sea of the putrid waters the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass that every living creature wherewith it swarmeth whithersoever the rivers shall come shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come thither that all things be healed and may live whithersoever the river cometh. Ezekiel 47:8-9 (The Israel Bible) Almost ten times saltier than the ocean, nothing can live in the Dead Sea’s hyper-saline environment – Or so scientists thought until recently. Scientific research has proved the existence of life at the bottom of the sea, but due to a unique set of circumstances, signs of life have begun appearing on its very shores, precisely as it is written in the Book of Prophets in the Bible. A young woman on a nature hike was shocked recently when she discovered freshwater ponds with fish on the shores of the Dead Sea. Samantha Siegel, a Jewish woman living in Jerusalem, often takes trips to the desert and the ancient body of water. On a recent visit, she encountered an incongruous sight with powerful implications: a prophecy appearing before her eyes that seemed to contradict the laws of nature.... 10 MOST DANGEROUS OCEAN CREATURES IN THE WORLD

10:17
10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

Why Fish Can Drink Salt Water And We Can’t

04:10
When we drink saltwater it can kill us, yet our oceans are teeming with life. Why can some species survive in saltwater while others can’t? Why Can’t Some Birds Fly? ►►►► http://bit.ly/1UFLfQM Sign Up For The TestTube Newsletter Here ►►►► http://bit.ly/1myXbFG Read More: Study Sheds New Light on How Some Fish Adapt to Saltwater http://phys.org/news/2013-10-fish-saltwater.html “Tilapia fish readily adapt to fresh or salty water, making them both good candidates for aquaculture and potential invasive pests. New work at the University of California, Davis, shows how tilapia can change the protein makeup of their gills, allowing them to nimbly adjust to widely varying levels of water salinity.” Why Is the Ocean Salty? http://ponce.sdsu.edu/usgs_why_is_the_ocean_salty/usgs_why_is_the_ocean_salty.html “How salty the ocean is, however, defies ordinary comprehension. Some scientists estimate that the oceans contain as much as 50 quadrillion tons (50 million billion tons) of dissolved solids. If the salt in the sea could be removed and spread evenly over the Earth's land surface it would form a layer more than 500 feet thick, about the height of a 40-story office building.” How Do Salmon Change From Freshwater to Saltwater Fish? https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/05/150505082825.htm “For decades, researchers have tried to find out what regulates changes in salmon when they transform from being freshwater to saltwater fish. Now they have come a little closer to an answer. A new study shows that light -- increases in day length in the spring -- affects developmental processes in the fish's brain during smoltification.” ____________________ DNews is dedicated to satisfying your curiosity and to bringing you mind-bending stories & perspectives you won't find anywhere else! Fish | Educational Video for Kids.

04:55
Hello friends, and welcome to a new Happy learning video. Today we are going to learn about the wettest animals on the planet...presenting the fish. In almost all the places where you can find water, be it either salt water or fresh water, you can also find fish. There are fish of all sorts of sizes, colors and shapes, and yet they all have common characteristics which we should know. Fish are vertebrates, their skeleton is made up of bones or cartilage. They are also cold blooded, their body temperature is not constant, meaning it depends on the water temperature. This fish appears to be really cold! All fish have extremities in the form of fins, as you can see in this image, dorsal fins, caudal fin which is the tail, pectoral fin, pelvic fin and anal fin. Another really important fact that one must remember is that almost all fish are covered in scales. The gills are the fish´s respiratory organ. The respiration process is very interesting; water enters through the mouth and goes to the gills; the gills then get the oxygen and distributes it to the rest of the body through the blood vessels , then the water is expelled through an opening which can be found in the majority of fish behind their head, which is called the gill flap. Fish reproduce by laying eggs, therefore they are oviparous, and their fertilization can be either external or internal. Some fish are excellent fathers, like this one who protects his babies inside his mouth. It looks as if he is going to eat them but he is actually protecting them. Look at that! it´s amazing isn't it? Almost all fish are carnivores, eating other fish smaller than themselves and therefore they each have different ways of defending themselves. The most common action to take when feeling threatened is to escape as fast as possible, as in to swim away rapidly. But there are other ways of defending oneself which are much more original. For example, this Clown fish hides itself among these venomous anemones, others imitate or camouflage themselves with their background, by obtaining the color and shape of the plants and rocks around them...Can you see a fish in this image? Wow, well there was indeed a fish and a very hungry one! Look, this is the largest fish in the world, the Whale shark. Even though it is called a whale shark you must remember it is a shark and not a whale. Whales are not fish, they are aquatic mammals, like theses friendly dolphins. So never forget, whales and dolphins are not fish but mammals. Now I have a very important fact you must always remember, its extremely important. As you already know fish as well as many other animals, live in water...water is essential for life, and for this reason we must look after it, we must protect it. There are people who dirty nature by throwing rubbish into the rivers and oceans, without thinking about the terrible consequences they are causing. The plastics and substances which contaminate the water, kill a huge amount of animals. Fish, turtles, dolphins, whales, sharks and many more die every day because of contamination. Water is a source of life. We must take care of it and protect it. So now you know, look after nature so that all living creatures can live happily. Good bye friends, until the next Happy learning video.

When fishing in saltwater, you NEVER know what you might pull out... While on vacation, I ventured to a nearby pier armed with live fiddler crabs, frozen shrimp, and my arsenal of bass fishing tackle. Completely exceeding my expectations, I was amazed to find a wide variety of species living around the pier, most of which I couldn't even identify!!! Live Fish and Seafood Restaurants in Sai Kung, Hong Kong. Part 1

03:41
This was seen on the Sai Kung Promenade, Hong Kong. The restaurant has huge tanks and and aquarium with live fish and seafood. The customers can chose their meal live from the water, have it cooked, and served on the table in a few minutes. The look of the tanks is impressive, with all the stuff alive .
