Aaron proudly announces that his Alpha M. YouTube channel is doing something 'awesome'. A new series, Quick Style Fix, launched its first episode. The series has all the 'good components' according to Aaron: interactions, makeovers, and a story. The episodes are also 'quick and easy'.
Unfortunately, this series not free for Aaron to produce. The clothes and videographer are two of the significant expenses. He has been pondering how he can pay for the series without having the pressure of finding sponsors? Normally, he makes good money from sponsorships, but keep in mind, he doesn't get paid to promote Tiege Hanley because he's an owner.
Now that you have the background information, here's the exciting part. During the weekly call with Tiege Hanley, Aaron proposed that they be the exclusive sponsor of the Quick Style Fix to give them 'branded content'. He adds that the videos will give Tiege Hanley an opportunity to 'do something good' along with having consistent content. Tiege Hanley agreed, and they are now the exclusive sponsor of the series! Further, MENfluential Media will be headed to Chicago to meet with Tiege Hanley regarding this year's strategy, promotions, and influencers including the Acne product roll-out. The lip balm prototypes are in. And last, but certainly not least, happy ONE YEAR anniversary to Josh!
STARTING A BUSINESS AND BUILDING A BRAND | ENTREPRENEUR SICK DAYS
Aaron got knocked out with allergies and missed a great deal of three days. He still had to work though- which raises the question, do entrepreneurs get sick days?
Entrepreneurs, unfortunately, don't have the luxury of 'calling in sick'. So what's an entrepreneur to do when they are too sick to work? Well, the entrepreneur can take the time off -- and should! They NEED to. What good are you to the business if you get sicker? STOP before it gets worse. Take the time to get healthy, for the good of the business and yourself.
The key is to develop your sick day(s) policy BEFORE illness strikes. Whether the plan involves sending out a mass email to keep all pertinent parties informed, modifying online sales turnaround times, and / or enlisting the help of your team or friends / family during these potential down-times, develop your illness action plan when starting your business (and if your business has already launched, get the plan drawn up and ready to go asap).
Also, when illness hits, be transparent with clients and make adjustments as needed. If they don't understand, this might be the time to rethink your relationship. If a client is upset because you're sick, that client most likely is not worth your time and energy. Sure, you hate to disappoint, but you have to take care of yourself. Give yourself permission to rest and get well.

Q1 I have also started a YouTube channel and do you have any business strategies that you have learned over the years that would be beneficial for growth? As a smaller channel you don’t get “recommended” as much as bigger channels.
Aaron states that spamming other channels with comments is not an effective way to grow a channel Neither is trying to poach subscribers from another channel. Instead, focus on creating solid and good content.
Q2 Has Tiege Hanley ever considered going into Retail? Would the price of the product increase? Is it worth it given it may generate more brand awareness?
Has Tiege Hanley considered retail? Yes, but quickly said 'no way'. Retail is not their business model. Retail is complex and costly. The company has to front all the money for inventory, agree to terms when paid, and if the product(s) don't sell, you could receive expired products returned to you. Aaron assures that Tiege Hanley is happy with their present profit margins which are 'great'.
