The Principles of Catch & Cook | How to Cook Fish | Fish Like Us

08:17
Hey everyone! Welcome back to Fish Like Us! Today we're going to talk about The Principles of Catch & Cook. We all make a lot of effort to get up early, gather our gear, fishing buddies and snacks. We head out on the water and spend our time baking in the sun in the hopes that some willing taker will begin tugging on the other end of our line. We fight hard to keep our fish (or lure if nothing else), and if we're skilled a little luck will assure we land that fish! So now what? You have the fish, but what do you do with it? Because our goal is to take clients from "bait to plate" we spend equally as much time focused on the cooking part of the program. It is said that cooking fish is one of the most feared at-home culinary processes. They're not like meat or poultry and because of that - the rules change. We've spent time focusing on what it takes to cook great fish and have boiled it down to three simple concepts that will have you rocking fish dishes, deliciously, every time! That's right...every time. When we focus our time and attention on simplifying an otherwise complicated process we can generally yield better results. Cooking fish is a category deserving of simplification. After all, we're spending entire days fishing so it better be worth the effort, right? Note: Not all fish taste good. Because there are fish you don't want to eat and fish you won't want to eat because of their distinct 'fishy' flavor these principles will assist you in separating the two. Our friend Derik changed our mind on Bluefish with a single recipe. And THAT'S the difference between catching for fun, and catching to cook! No sense in spending time catching a fish you don't like to eat or attempting recipes you aren't sure will turn out if you don't know the rules of cooking fish, to begin with. Good news is, it's easier than it seems! And after a little practice, you'll be flipping fish onto your plates like a professional! If you haven't seen our previous videos it would be worth checking out How to Filet a Sea Trout (here: 👉https://youtu.be/KHJ8kAyNS6U) and How to Clean Sheepshead (here: 👉https://youtu.be/OcBMmDbtCp0). In this video, we'll teach you what to do once you've cleaned your fish to turn the days venture into a culinary delight. And if you want to read a written version of it online you can find it under 'The Principles of Catch & Cook' in the Coastal Angler at 👉 https://coastalanglermag.com/e-magazine/sarasota. If you're interested in learning this process first hand we recommend spending more time on our channel or calling us for a kayak fishing charter where we can take you from "bait to plate" while teaching you how to Fish Like Us! We invite you to comment below with your thoughts, recipes, and cooking suggestions. We'd love to hear from you and look forward to seeing you on the water! 00:38
Seven Seas are the big name in Omega-3 and Cod Liver Oil. Understandably, they wanted to shout about it. So what better than a 30 ft long giant CGI cod swimming in the air to emphasise the fact. Shot in and around Barcelona - chosen for its graphic cityscape, weather and close proximity to lush countryside and beaches - the commercial features our big fish gracefully darting and swishing between people, giving them a helpful nudge in their everyday routines. This hints at how taking Seven Seas Extra High Strength Cod Liver Oil can help with your movement, flexibility and general good health. f you've sharp eyes you may be able to spot Chris Goodwin - one of Principles' founding partners - in one scene.
