He came to power by uniting many of the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia. After founding the Empire and being proclaimed "Genghis Khan", he started the Mongol invasions that conquered most of Eurasia. Campaigns initiated in his lifetime include those against the Qara Khitai, Caucasus, and Khwarazmian, Western Xia and Jin dynasties. These campaigns were often accompanied by wholesale massacres of the civilian populations – especially in the Khwarazmian and Western Xia controlled lands. By the end of his life, the Mongol Empire occupied a substantial portion of Central Asia and China. Before Genghis Khan died, he assigned Ögedei Khan as his successor and split his empire into khanates among his sons and grandsons. He died in 1227 after defeating the Western Xia. He was buried in an unmarked grave somewhere in Mongolia. His descendants extended the Mongol Empire across most of Eurasia by conquering or creating vassal states in all of modern-day China, Korea, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and substantial portions of modern Eastern Europe, Russia, and Southwest Asia. Many of these invasions repeated the earlier large-scale slaughters of local populations. As a result, Genghis Khan and his empire have a fearsome reputation in local histories. Beyond his military accomplishments, Genghis Khan also advanced the Mongol Empire in other ways. He decreed the adoption of the Uyghur script as the Mongol Empire's writing system. He also practiced meritocracy and encouraged religious tolerance in the Mongol Empire while unifying the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia. Present-day Mongolians regard him as the founding father of Mongolia. Although known for the brutality of his campaigns and considered by many to have been a genocidal ruler, Genghis Khan is also credited with bringing the Silk Road under one cohesive political environment. This brought communication and trade from Northeast Asia into Muslim Southwest Asia and Christian Europe, thus expanding the horizons of all three cultural areas. Main article: Mongol military tactics and organization Reenactment of Mongol battle Genghis Khan put absolute trust in his generals, such as Muqali, Jebe and Subutai, and regarded them as close advisors, often extending them the same privileges and trust normally reserved for close family members. He allowed them to make decisions on their own when they embarked on campaigns far from the Mongol Empire capital Karakorum. Muqali, a trusted lieutenant, was given command of the Mongol forces against the Jin dynasty while Genghis Khan was fighting in Central Asia, and Subutai and Jebe were allowed to pursue the Great Raid into the Caucasus and Kievan Rus', an idea they had presented to the Khagan on their own initiative. While granting his generals a great deal of autonomy in making command decisions, Genghis Khan also expected unwavering loyalty from them. The Mongol military was also successful in siege warfare, cutting off resources for cities and towns by diverting certain rivers, taking enemy prisoners and driving them in front of the army, and adopting new ideas, techniques and tools from the people they conquered, particularly in employing Muslim and Chinese siege engines and engineers to aid the Mongol cavalry in capturing cities. Another standard tactic of the Mongol military was the commonly practiced feigned retreat to break enemy formations and to lure small enemy groups away from the larger group and defended position for ambush and counterattack. Another important aspect of the military organization of Genghis Khan was the communications and supply route or Yam, adapted from previous Chinese models. Genghis Khan dedicated special attention to this in order to speed up the gathering of military intelligence and official communications. To this end, Yam waystations were established all over the empire. In addition to most of the Mongol nobility up to the 20th century, the Mughal emperor Babur's mother was a descendant. Timur (also known as Tamerlane), the 14th century military leader, and many other nobilities of central Asian countries claimed descent from Genghis Khan. During the Soviet purge most of the Mongol nobility in Mongolia were purged.

That morning the camp was full of activity as the family was preparing for their son’s wedding. A Mongolian country-side wedding can last anywhere from 3-10 days with the grooms parent’s building the couple a new ger and the bride’s parents providing the furniture. It was so interesting to see all this unfold and as much fun as it would been to attend a 10 day long Mongolian party, we had to hit the road Buddhist Monastery: While en route to meet up with our new guide, we made a quick stop off at a buddhist monastery out in the middle of nowhere. we wandered around the place checking out various religious artifacts, including a large stockpile of hundred year old Tibetan sutras until we were befriended by a young monk who was more than eager to tell us more about his faith Buddhism has been around in Mongolia since the 16th century when the Mongolian ruler Altan Kahn was converted by Tibetan lamas. Today, many religions are practiced throughout the country, but over half the population still identifies themselves as Buddhists. At it’s core, buddhism is the understanding that suffering and dissatisfaction originate in the way your mind responds to life’s circumstances. Buddhism provides it’s followers with a set of systematic techniques to have self-control over your own negative thoughts and desires. Happiness, Buddha once said, is actually quite simple: The secret is to want what you have and not want what you don't have. A good reminder, no matter what you do… or don’t believe After Lunch: After lunch, we took off into the gobi desert bound for our big destination of the day, a place called white stupa. Admittedly, we had know idea what that was or what to expect, but we were making great time… until we discovered that the Mongolian wilderness hates it when you’re making great time. WHITE STUPA / Tsagaan Suvarga White stupa is a massive 400 meter long cliff that was formed around 10 million years ago when it was covered by a sea. Over the millennia the sea dried up and the erosion eventually created distinctive looking structures known as escarpments. The erosion also exposed the different ores in the soil that when met with oxygen create the brilliant colors of white, yellow and purple. The top of the 40 meter high cliff is mostly covered with loose rocks so it made walking around near the edge a little freaky. Ancient hunters used this fact to their advantage by driving herds of gazelles over the edge for a sure kill. We could’ve easily spent all day there walking around in awe, but the sun was beginning to set and we still had to make it to our camp for the night. We were excited to meet a new nomadic family and experience the infamous Mongolian hospitality. Invasions of the Sea Peoples: Egypt & The Late Bronze Age Collapse

08:41
The years between around 1500 and 1200 BC are often cited as some of the most prosperous that the world had ever seen. The Eastern Mediterranean world inhabited by the Egyptians, the Hittites and the Minoans, as well as numerous smaller states around them, was a truly cosmopolitan system rarely seen in world history. Greek and Hittite trade goods regularly show up in archaeological sites in Egypt, whereas Egyptian hieroglyphs and trade goods are found in places such as the island of Crete and Mycenae. One shipwreck off the coast of Turkey carried goods from nine different states aboard. As evidenced by substantial diplomatic communications as well as trade, the world of the Late Bronze Age was a vast interconnected system. The culmination of an unbroken cultural line which had existed since the first cities three thousand years before. Little did the inhabitants of these lands know however that from around 1200 BC their world would catastrophically and violently fall apart in a decades long cataclysm known as the Late Bronze Age Collapse. Sea Buckthorn A LEGEND

04:09
sea buckthorn A LEGENDARY PLANT Sea Buckthorn, known as the most balanced fruit of the nature, is a hardy, deciduous shrub bearing small yellow to orange-red berries. Considered to be the Holy Fruit of the Himalayas, it has the botanical name Hippophae Rhammonides. It widely grows in Europe, central Asia and temperate regions of South Asia, India and China, ranging in altitude of a minimum of 60 meters above sea level (asl) to a maximum of 5200 meters asl. It is also known throughout the world as Sandthorn, Sandorn and Siberian Pineapple. It has been cherished by native Tibetans for centuries for its incredible nutritive qualities. The Spiti valley of the Himalayas in India has a fairly large concentration of Sea Buckthorn, particularly along the river bed covering an area of more than 200 hectares as per official figures. The 3 varieties of Sea Buckthorn found in Spiti are rich in Carotenoids, Xanthophylls, Phenolics and Flavonoids and have a higher content of essential oils. Sea Buckthorn plant has been used for centuries in the traditional medicinal system of Asia and Europe mainly for its nutritional and medicinal value. It possesses an exclusive composition of vitamins, nutrients and essential fatty acids usually found only separately in different plants and sources. It was used in China for over 12 centuries where it was first used for traditional Chinese medicine strengthening stomach, blood circulation and respiration. Sea Buckthorn is currently used in juice, sports drinks, jellies, ice cream, cosmetics and medicines. Sea buckthorn is rich in macronutrients and micronutrients. It contains vitamins B1, B2, folic acid, C, E, beta-carotene (Pro-vitamin A) and K. It contains Carotenoids, Flavonoids, Phenols, Terpenes and at least 20 mineral co factors. Sea Buckthorn also naturally contains 5-HT (serotonin), a neurotransmitter that helps regulate emotions. Sea Buckthorns’ numerous health benefits include cardiovascular, immunity, anticancer, memory, growth, anti-inflammatory and skin health. Sea Buckthorn contains more than 60 antioxidants and high ORAC value. History of Sea Buckthorn Sea Buckthorn’s history is as colorful as its berries and dates back many years encompassing diverse cultures and countries. The fruit of Sea Buckthorn is very rich in Vitamin C (300-1600 mg/100 g), which is 4-100 times higher than any vegetable and fruit. There is a legendary story that links Sea Buckthorn with Genghis Khan, the Mongol conqueror, who established one of the largest empires in the 13th century, stretching from China to Eastern Europe. It is said that he relied on three treasures - well-organized armies, strict discipline and Sea Buckthorn. It was the regular consumption of Sea Buckthorn that enabled the army of Genghis Khan to march on with inexhaustible and enormous energy. Its Latin name 'Hippophae' literally translates into ‘shiny horse’. According to ancient Greek legend, Sea Buckthorn was used as the diet for race/ill horses to give them a shiny coat and superior health. Greek mythology also has it that the Sea Buckthorn leaves were the preferred food of ‘Pegasus’, the flying horse. It has been used for centuries in the traditional medicinal systems of Asia and Europe mainly for its nutritional and medicinal value. References to medicinal use of Sea Buckthorn were found in Ancient Greek texts and in classic Tibetan medicinal texts, including The RGyud Bzi (The Four Books of Pharmacopoeia) dating back to the times of The Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). The RGyud Bzi has 36 chapters with records and prescriptions for curing the diseases of blood circulation systems, skin wound, anti-inflammation and strengthen and coordinate the balance of functions among liver, stomach, spleen, kidney and heart.

The Legend of Tarzan - Official Teaser Trailer [HD]

02:08
Alexander Skarsgård stars in THE LEGEND OF TARZAN - in theaters July 2016. http://legendoftarzan.com http://facebook.com/legendoftarzan --- From Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures comes the action adventure “The Legend of Tarzan,” starring Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s “True Blood”) as the legendary character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The film also stars Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction,” the “Captain America” films), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “Gladiator”), Oscar nominee John Hurt (“The Elephant Man,” the “Harry Potter” films), with Oscar winner Jim Broadbent (“Iris”), and two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz (“Inglourious Basterds,” “Django Unchained”). It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash. David Yates (the final four “Harry Potter” films, upcoming “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”) directed “The Legend of Tarzan” from a screenplay by Adam Cozad and Craig Brewer, story by Brewer and Cozad based on the Tarzan stories created by Burroughs. Legendary producer Jerry Weintraub (“Behind the Candelabra,” the “Ocean’s” trilogy) produced the film, together with David Barron (the “Harry Potter” films, “Cinderella”), Alan Riche (“Southpaw”) and Tony Ludwig (“Starsky & Hutch”). Susan Ekins, Nikolas Korda, Keith Goldberg, David Yates, Mike Richardson and Bruce Berman served as executive producers. The behind-the-scenes creative team included director of photography Henry Braham (“The Golden Compass”), Oscar-winning production designer Stuart Craig (“Dangerous Liaisons,” “The English Patient,” the “Harry Potter” films), editor Mark Day (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts 1 & 2”), and Oscar-nominated costume designer Ruth Myers (“Emma,” “Unknown”). “The Legend of Tarzan” was shot at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, as well as on location around the UK. A Jerry Weintraub production, “The Legend of Tarzan” is slated for release on July 1, 2016. The film will be distributed in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

Avatar - Aang's Journey

02:40
My 4th video, describing Aang's journey and his learning of the elements. If you didn't catch the quotes (they were from each of Aangs masters) here they are: Monk Gyatso: You're aim has improved greatly my young pupil. Katara: You have the reflexes of a waterbending master. Toph: You stood you're ground against me, you've got stuff. Zuko: The real hero is the Avatar. If you have watched some of my other vids you will have realised that I have almost all the episodes at my disposal. I originally had every episode but had to delete the odd one or two that were of no importance such as "The Great Divide" from Book 1 (I needed to save some space on my computer). The quote I wanted from Zuko (not telling which one in case someone steels it) was only just deleted, 3 seconds later and I would have had it! It was the most frustrating thing you could imagine as it took me ages to think of it (Zuko doesn't often praise Aang). So anyway, rant over, enjoy! Unexplained Sea Monster Washed Up On Shore Australia

02:30
Legends Of Unexplained sea monsters, the Mongolian death worm, the Montauk Monster, what do they all have in common? Today we're investigating this image of a dead sea monster that washed up on a beach in Australia. Ethan Tippan of New South Wales uploaded this image to his facebook account stating, This is at Swansea Boat Ramp. What the fuck is it?” His friend Brodie Marie suggested putting his... Bo diddle in its mouth, to see if it was still breathing. Brodie Marie won the internet toady. (trophy applaus glitter falling) While putting your bo diddle into something's mouth might get results, its not exactly what you would call the scientific method. Some have suggested that its a prehistoric sea monster, others thinking it might be a deep-sea shark or eel. In the past there have been some very strange animal bodies showing up on the beach, their true identity have all been revealed. #1 Mongolian Death Worm Just a rope covered in goose barnacles. #2 Montauk Monster Palaeozoologist Darren Naish after extensive study of this image determined that it was just a racoon and its bizarre look was due to decompisition and exposure to the water and other elements. #3 The Rare Russian Drunk Sea Cow This still is yet to be explained. Believe me Internet and all you haters in the comment section. I wish someone had verifiable proof of aliens, sea monsters and angels. But as far as we know, none of those exist outside of our imaginations, books, and movies. Well except this. So what the fuck is this long creepy ass thing with the dead eyes? That answer coming right up but first click like and subscribe to keep the best goddamn Hoax Debunking Channel On YouTube alive. First the image wasn't even taken by Ethan Tippan but Robert Tyndall. Mr. Tyndall was a bit amused that his photo had gone viral. Dr. Julian Pepperell one of the best known Marine Biologists in the world and a leading authority on marine life such as marlin, tuna and sharks stated that the creature in the photograph resembled a Pike Eel which was confirmed by the photographer Mr. Tyndall. The pike eel has a long body without scales and can grow over 5 ½ feet in length and is found in the coastal waters off of New South Wales. While it looks rather large in this image, that's due to the angle of the photograph creating a bit of forced perspective, the actual eel did measure exactly what was to be expected. About 5 ½ feet in length. The pike eeel are often caught by fishers and at times have caused serious damage due to their strong muscles and teeth that are designed to inflict slashing wounds. But this eel was relatively old and its death was most likely caused by net entanglement, damage from a boat, or even old age. The LARGEST Shark In The World - Megalodon

05:36
Does the Megalodon shark exist? Here are top 10 facts you need to know Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Other Videos You Might Like Most Mysterious Footage Ever Recorded https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VP_o2z2dz0 Mysterious Unidentified Creatures Found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFWZjbR_ZvI Description: It’s true to say that people love the mysterious and the unexplained. Throw in some colorful imaginations and a desire for the improbable to be possible and what you end up with are a number of creatures and phenomenon that get reported every year. From ghosts to fairies to monsters that live in the forest, humans seem obsessed with proving or disproving the existence of the unexplained. In most cases, our logical side knows it’s all ridiculous but there is that shred of belief which keeps us fascinated and hoping it’s true. The majority of creatures and phenomenon that we become obsessed with are often based in little more than folk-tales and urban legends. That is, there’s no tangible proof that a certain creature existed beyond a story dreamt up hundreds or thousands of years ago. In these cases, stories and ‘evidence’ are fuelled 100% by our imaginations. But what about those monsters and creatures who are based on fact? They may not be readily visible today but there is strong scientific and historic evidence that shows they did exist many years ago. This is the case with the legendary Megalodon, a sea creature shrouded in mystery and whose existence is fuelled almost annually by a certain television channel’s focus on ‘Shark Week.’ As its name suggests, the Megalodon was massive and given the public’s love of all things ‘shark’ it’s understandable why we are obsessed with it. While it lived long before any of us were around, there are more than a few people who swear the Megalodon still lurks in the deep of the World’s oceans. Does the Megalodon really lurk beneath the waves today? Titanic sinks in REAL TIME - 2 HOURS 40 MINUTES

02:41:19
From our upcoming video game "Titanic: Honor and Glory" This is a rough draft ("pre-vis") of our sinking animation. Be sure to contribute to help make our project a reality! http://www.titanichg.com/contribution/ Official Website: http://www.titanichg.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TitanicHonorandGlory/ Goes well with our memorial Live stream video: https://youtu.be/OMO8xaylvOc Dedicated to the 1,496 souls who lost their lives on April 15, 1912 and to the memory of the 712 who survived. This animation was created to go along with the 104th Titanic sinking anniversary podcast we held on April 14th, 2016. This is our full-length animation of the Titanic sinking, beginning with the iceberg collision and ending with its disappearance. The point of collision is at 1:06. This is a complete animation; not a short animation that was slowed down to match real time. This is also highly accurate, though we have already documented improvements we plan to make for the final game. The animation includes text frequently appearing with what is happening on board the ship. This includes visuals of various interior rooms flooding, lifeboats launching, rockets firing, and the Californian on the horizon. The animation was created in Unreal Engine 4. The exterior model used is not our final model, but an older model created by one of our team members. There are many informational messages spread throughout the video, but here are some of the main points to jump to: 0:30 - Iceberg spotted. 1:05 - Titanic collides with iceberg. 6:06 - The ship has stopped as damage inspections are carried out. 7:44 - Captain Smith orders engines to 'Half Ahead'. 19:41 - Titanic stops for the last time. 20:04 - Excess steam is vented. 38:08 - The Titanic begins taking on a 'starboard list'. 43:03 - Thomas Andrews estimates 1-2 hours before the ship sinks. 46:23 - The first distress calls are sent out. 48:38 - Lights of another ship are spotted on the horizon. 53:07 - Most lifeboats are prepared to evacuate passengers. 58:20 - Carpathia responds to Titanic's distress calls. 1:01:29 - Lifeboat 7 is launched. 1:05:03 - Lifeboat 5 is launched. 1:06:04 - The telegraph operators begin using 'SOS'. 1:07:22 - Lifeboat 5 encounters lowering difficulties. 1:08:02 - Officer Boxhall launches the first distress rocket in an attempt to signal the ship on the horizon. 1:10:24 - The Carpathia confirms it is on it's way. 1:11:03 - Steam stops venting from the funnels. 1:13:20 - The starboard list is eliminated as Boiler Room 5 floods. 1:21:28 - Lifeboat 8 leaves. 1:28:22 - Suction pumps are activated. 1:31:33 - Lifeboat 6 is launched. 1:36:57 - Water is up to the Titanic's nameplate. 1:39:37 - Titanic begins listing to port. 1:41:43 - Lifeboat 16 is launched. 1:46:54 - Lifeboat 14 is launched. 1:51:18 - Lifeboat 14 is dropped 4 feet into the sea from its falls after they jammed. 1:51:42 - Lifeboat 12 is launched. 1:52:29 - Lifeboat 9 is launched. 1:58:53 - Lifeboat 11 is launched. 2:00:41 - Lifeboat 13 is launched. 2:05:21 - Lifeboat 13 is pushed aft by the discharging condenser, jamming it on the falls. 2:05:50 - Lifeboat 15. 2:05:42 - Lifeboat 13 cannot release itself as Lifeboat 15 comes down on top of it. 2:07:07 - Lifeboat 13 is released and is pulled out from underneath Lifeboat 15 as 15 lands in the water. 2:07:38 - Lifeboat 2 is launched. 2:09:31 - The lights on the horizon disappear. 2:11:52 - Lifeboat 4. 2:12:22 - Lifeboat 10. 2:22:12 - It is now 2AM. The Titanic has 20 minutes left. 2:26:10 - Collapsible Boat D is launched. 2:29:39 - The last messages from the Titanic are heard. 2:30:46 - Collapsible A is slid off the Officers' Quarters roof. 2:31:03 - The Wireless Room is abandoned. 2:31:42 - Collapsible B is thrown from the roof of the office quarters. It lands upside down in the water. 2:34:01 - Survivors distinctly hear 4 explosions from deep within the ship. 2:39:23 - All remaining power is lost. The ship breaks in two. 2:40:36 - Titanic is gone. Rescuers do not arrive for another hour and 40 minutes. NOTICE: Comments about conspiracy theories such as the switch theory, the coal fire theory, or any stories of Titanic being sunk deliberately or through criminal negligence will be deleted. Overshot | Sea of Thieves (Pirate Legend #33)

17:33
➜ Welcome to Kojack’s Let's Play Series: This series includes audio commentary and gameplay of games I like. Captain Kojack - This is my Pirate Legend Series: You will see Sea of Thieves gameplay with my banter and those of crewmates, enemies and sometimes random folks I do not know. My goal of this series is to become a Pirate Legend in Sea of Thieves. As such I enjoy playing with a good well-coordinated crew. I also enjoy helping lower level/new Pirates. Sea of Thieves is a pirate-themed action-adventure cooperative multiplayer game played from a first-person perspective. The game features cross-platform play between Windows-based personal computers and Xbox One video game consoles. A group of players travel and explore an open world via a pirate ship and assume different roles such as steering, hoisting sails, navigation, firing cannons and other tasks. Players will embark on quests, collect loot and engage in combat with other players. Sea of Thieves is a shared world game, which means groups of players will encounter each other regularly throughout their adventures. The game has a cartoonish art style and exaggerated physics that allow players to be shot out of ship cannons. Development Sea of Thieves is being developed by Rare. The game is being developed using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4. In November 2016, Rare launched the Insider Programme to give select members access to an in-development version of the game. Rare is using the Insider Programme for testing purposes and to get feedback from players. Release In June 2015, Sea of Thieves was announced at Microsoft's Xbox press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 (E3). Gameplay was first shown at E3 2016. The game was scheduled to launch on Windows and Xbox One in 2017, but it was later delayed until 20 March 2018. The game will be part of Microsoft's Xbox Play Anywhere cross-buy program, meaning that purchasers of a digital copy can play the game on both platforms. Additionally, the game will also be available to play at no cost to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at the game's release, as with all forthcoming Microsoft Studios titles. ➜ Join our Community! ➜ Battlenet: KoJack ➜ Xbox 1: KoJacKX8 ➜ PSN: Xlr8games Watch & Subscribe Here: ➜ http://www.youtube.com/user/Xlr8game?sub_confirmation=1 Social Media Links! ➜ Twitter: https://twitter.com/XLR8Games ➜ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Xlr8games ➜ Instragram: https://www.instagram.com/xlr8games ➜ Google+: https://plus.google.com/u/0/Xlr8games All Playlists - https://www.youtube.com/view_all_playlists ➜ Check out our Discord Server!
