Italian vs. American vs. English Men's Dress Shoes & What Distinguishes Them - Gentleman's Gazette

10:26
This video was made in collaboration with AceMarks, purveyor of Italian Men's Dress Shoes with a great bang for the buck. #dressshoes #acemarks #mensdressshoes Currently, they have a Kickstarter where you can get a pair of shoes for under $200: http://bit.ly/get-your-acemarks CHECK OUT OUR IN-DEPTH GUIDE TO SHOES, HERE: https://gentl.mn/what-makes-italian-shoes-different SHOP THE VIDEO: 1. Shadow Stripe Ribbed Socks Light Brown and Blue - https://gentl.mn/2FCAzSP 2. Brown Madder Silk Pocket Square - https://gentl.mn/2FEqbtW What makes Italian shoes different from English or American shoes? Hallmarks Of Italian Shoes Italy has a long-standing tradition in craftsmanship and specifically, in leather goods. Because of that, you can find lots of shoemakers still in Italy, as well as many shoe factories. Even in Europe, Italy has probably the highest density of bespoke shoemakers you can find. It's the same with tailors, shirt makers and other crafts especially related to menswear. One thing that always struck me about Italian bespoke shoes is that even a shoemaker in a small town has a very good eye for an elegant last. Not so in Italy; the construction you find in Italian bespoke shoes is usually a hand-sewn Goodyear welt. Sometimes you can also find the Norwegian welt which is called Norvegese in Italian and it's more visible, it is more time consuming and not many other shoemakers are so much in love with that welt as Italians are. Are Ace Marks The Best Italian Shoes Money Can Buy? Absolutely not, however, that's not their focus. They try to sell a shoe that is fairly priced with a very high-quality level and an extremely great value level at a lower price. So let's have a closer look at Italian made factory shoes such as Ace Marks. It's All About The Leather Italians are very good tanners and because of that, most Italian shoes are made of Italian leather. Unlike in other countries, you can find entire towns dedicated to leather tanning and it's just a joy to see that that craft is still so very much alive in Italy today. So when you look at quality Italian Shoes, they will likely have a hand burnished patina with either something darker areas and lighter areas which makes the shoe more lively, easier to combine, and it simply looks much better than a plain colored leather shoe. Shoe Construction Most quality Italian shoes are either Blake-stitched or Blake rapid stitched. Blake rapid is superior to just Blake and very similar to Goodyear in the sense that it's more complex but with Blake sometimes you also have the issue that the thread will transport water from the wet street directly to the inside of your shoe which can be quite uncomfortable. Shoe Quality In terms of costs, they're all very similar to each other including the machine-made Goodyear welt. In terms of quality, many would rate Goodyear welt on top of the bunch however, that's not necessarily true. A Goodyear welted shoe just has different characteristics than let's say a blake rapid shoe. Ultimately what matters more is the design of the last and how it works with your foot. When it comes to heel height Italian shoes have been all over the place. In the 70s, you saw really really tall heels but today, you can mostly find a moderate heel which is perfectly suitable for every kind of man. Overall I would say that Italian shoes are always a little more fashion-forward, they have lasts that are longer, maybe a little rounded, maybe a little more extreme, they're usually very stylish, and always put emphasis on elegance. What About English Factory Made Shoes? In my experience, they're generally a little stiffer which means the uppers are a little stiffer, the soles a little stiffer, and that's because they use the Goodyear welt method, machine welted almost exclusively in every factory I've ever seen. What About American Shoes Such As Allen Edmonds or Aldens? Just like English shoes, they're machine Goodyear welted and their lasts are generally a little more old-fashioned. Some people may call it clunky but overall, it's just a different type of last. Overall, I say American shoes are more similar to English shoes than Italian shoes but obviously, that's a generalization. You can always find exceptions to the rule. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? How To NOT Look Like A Tourist | What To Wear In Europe

08:19
I've been very lucky to travel in my life, both within the United States and abroad. Today I want to share 6 things I like to avoid wearing while on vacation so that I can fit in a little easier. Assimilating (by how you dress, speak and conduct yourself) will make you less easily targeted as a tourist, help you experience your destination as more of an insider rather than an outsider, and will ensure you don't get turned away from restaurants or important landmarks. I've linked everything mentioned down below, and like always thank you so much for watching! xxAudrey BLOG POST: http://www.audreyalamode.com/blog-audreyalamode/2018/6/22/what-not-to-wear-on-vacation-especially-in-europe-a-few-you-should FREE SUMMER TRENDS EBOOK: https://bit.ly/2JB0Ume MY FIRST EBOOK: https://bit.ly/2LRmAXN SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL HERE! http://bit.ly/2pFnkE7 ________________________________________________ WHAT I'M WEARING: Pinstripe: Zara (recently purchased from Poshmark) Earrings: Zara Signet Ring: Ruff's Signet Ring c/o https://www.ruffs.co.uk/ Delicate Stacking Ring: GLDN c/o https://bit.ly/2kQD475 c/o Watch: Jacy c/o https://bit.ly/2wMDgb6 ____________________________________________________________ Nice pants with an elastic waist that still look polished! https://bit.ly/2ImrAS8 Great cashmere sweaters: https://bit.ly/2IkONEz Lovely wool cardigan: https://bit.ly/2Khj4pi Wool V-Neck Under $30: https://bit.ly/2lwn6zD Cotton Cardigan Under $30: https://bit.ly/2lwn9LP Sleek Lace Up Sneakers: https://bit.ly/2KdEg2X Slip On Sneakers: https://bit.ly/2MmtLrd Some Beautiful Hats: Packable Straw Hat Under $35 https://bit.ly/2Mj2Qww Beret Under $20 https://bit.ly/2K4MyLl Fedora Under $50 https://bit.ly/2yzzxUI Fedora Under $70 https://bit.ly/2yEKUL4 Fedora Under $120 https://bit.ly/2tso2cs Some Great Crossbody Bags: Cute vegan option under $40 https://bit.ly/2K4udOi Really cute option under $130 https://bit.ly/2K2Yz3C My favorite under $200 https://bit.ly/2KhcKRV Versatile option under $230 https://bit.ly/2yzAuwg My favorite under $400 https://bit.ly/2KfTyRg My favorite ankle boots: https://bit.ly/2InSEAq Cute sandals under $180 https://bit.ly/2ImSZUi https://bit.ly/2IqaWRW Cute loafers under $170 https://bit.ly/2yCPUQl My favorite espadrille wedges https://bit.ly/2K4OjrQ ____________________________________________________________ - FOLLOW ME - INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/audreyacoyne/ BLOG | http://www.audreyalamode.com/ PINTEREST | https://www.pinterest.com/audreyalamode/ BUSINESS INQUIRIES | [email protected] ____________________________________ MUSIC: "Expensive Dinner" via EpidemicSound.com ____________________________________ Camera: Sony A7r iii https://amzn.to/2M0zQKT ____________________________________ NEW HERE? Here's What Gangs From All Over the World Look Like

08:09
Very few think about it, but almost every country has its low-class gangsters. And each of them has their own specific subculture and style. TIMESTAMPS France – Racaille (rah-KYE) 0:29 USA – White trash 1:09 England – Chavs 1:53 Japan – Yankii 2:36 India – Tapori 3:17 Spain – Cani 4:02 Scotland – Ned 4:43 Israel – Ars 5:23 South Africa – Zef 6:06 Russia – Gopnik 6:46 SUMMARY - Racaille as true Frenchmen possesses a flawless style. They prefer Lacoste, wear Lacoste belt bags, and think that the height of style is pants tucked into socks. - In America, poor white people are often shortly called ”white-trash.” This term goes back to the 1820s and allegedly was invented by African Americans to disparage local poor white people. - The term “chav” came from a Romani word “chavvi,” which means “a child.” Chavs live in poor suburban districts. London traffic is too heavy for them. - Yankii are working-class Japanese youngsters. They are not tough guys like the yakuza, of course. But they are famous for being loud, rude, and refusing to take part in the strict manners of Japanese culture. - Tapori are street thugs from Mumbai. Their motto is "Milking a dummy is saint." That's why their main activity is hustling tourists. - Cani is very easy to spot a Southern-Spanish thug: they look as if they’ve just robbed a pawnshop, wearing multiple rings, gold chains, and other accessories. They like to listen to loud music on public transport, always playing club music out loud. - “Ned” is actually a short version for “non-educated delinquent.” Neds live in the poorer areas of Scottish suburbs. Unlike their English counterparts, these gentlemen are very aggressive, and they can drink huge amounts of alcohol with very little effect. - Arsim is a unique phenomenon in thug subculture because they are mostly religious. They often prefer national headwear to the standard baseball cap. - In the past, Zefs were wealthy but uneducated snobs who drove Ford Zephyrs. Then they degraded, but they still try to demonstrate style and wealth. - A Russian gopnik is a small predator of the criminal world. Gopniks also usually come from the dysfunctional background. They often spend their time squatting in groups and drinking beer. Do you know any other interesting facts about low-class gangs in your country? Tell us in the comment section below. Moda Italiana Italian fashion Clothing Made in Italy. Factory of Prato textile style CALOZERO

http://acquasheire.com/ http://goodnews.ws/ Moda Italiana Italian fashion Clothing Made in Italy. A factory of Prato textile style. CALOZERO is a new brand of Italian fashion. A factory located in the textile town of Prato selling its products directly to consumers. Abbigliamento uomo donna autunno inverno primavera estate. CALOZERO clothing Made in Italy. Visit the online shop, click here: http://calozero.it/ Italian fashion; Italy is one of the leading countries in fashion design, alongside others such as France, USA, Great Britain and Japan. Fashion has always been an important part of the country's cultural life and society, and Italians are well known for their attention to dressing-up well; "la bella figura", or good impression, remains traditional in the Italian way of living. Italian design became prominent ever since the 11th-16th centuries, when artistic development in Italy was at its peak. Cities such as Venice, Milan, Florence and Vicenza started to produce luxury goods, hats, cosmetics, jewelry and rich fabrics. During the 17th-early 20th centuries, Italian fashion lost its importance and lustre, and Europe's main trendsetter became France, with the great popularity of French fashion; this is due to the luxury dresses which were designed for the courtiers of Louis XIV. However, since the 1951-53 fashion soirées held by Giovanni Battista Giorgini in Florence, the "Italian school" started to compete with the French haute couture, and labels such as Ferragamo and Gucci began to contend with Chanel and Dior. In 2009, according to the Global Language Monitor, Milan, Italy's center of design, was ranked the top fashion capital of the world, and Rome was ranked 4th, and, despite both cities fell down places in subsequent rankings, in 2011, Florence entered as the 31st world fashion capital. Milan is generally considered to be part of the "big four" global fashion capitals, which, aside from the Italian city, consist of New York City, Paris and London; occasionally, the "big five" also includes Rome. Examples of major Italian fashion houses are: Gucci, Armani, Emilio Pucci, Valentino, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli, Trussardi, Versace, Krizia, Etro, Miu Miu, Laura Biagiotti, Max Mara, Fendi, Moschino, Missoni, Bottega Veneta, Benetton and Brioni (fashion),to name a few. Italy also is home to many fashion magazines, such as Grazia, Vogue Italia, Amica, Flair, Gioia. Other Italian accessory and jewelry brands, such as Luxottica and Bulgari are amongst the most important in the world. Fashion in Italy started to become the most fashionable in Europe since the 11th century, and powerful cities of the time, such as Venice, Milan, Florence, Vicenza and Rome began to produce robes, jewelry, textiles, shoes, fabrics, ornaments and elaborate dresses.Italian fashion reached its peak during the Renaissance. As Italy is widely recognized as the cradle and birthplace of the Renaissance, art, music, education, finance and philosophy flourished, and along with it, Italian fashion designs became immensely popular (especially those worn by the Medicis in Florence. The fashions of Queen Catherine de' Medici of France, were considered amongst the most fashionable in Europe). Florence is regarded by some as the birthplace and earliest center of the modern (post World War Two) fashion industry in Italy. The Florentine "soirées" of the early 1950s organized by Giovanni Battista Giorgini were events where several now-famous Italian designers participated in group shows and first garnered international attention. Florence has served as the home of the Italian fashion company Salvatore Ferragamo since 1928. Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, and Emilio Pucci are also headquartered in Florence. Other major players in the fashion industry such as Prada and Chanel have large offices and stores in Florence or its outskirts. Florence's main upscale shopping street is Via de' Tornabuoni, where major luxury fashion houses and jewelry labels, such as Armani and Bulgari, have their elegant boutiques. Via del Parione and Via Roma are other streets that are also well-known for their high-end fashion stores. - Abbigliamento uomo donna autunno inverno primavera estate CALOZERO clothing Made in Italy giubbotti jackets clothes dress wear dressing Fashion Style Beauty Designer Collection Mode Modeling Vogue Role Dior Armani Dolce Designers Boutique Jeans Pants Boots Tight Outfit Flash Dresses Modelling Fancy Jacket Hats Shorts Wearing Gloves Silk Shiny Dirty Satin Glasses Pink Wet Shoes Lace Outfits Coat Suit Shades Lycra Thigh Scarf Accessories Stocking Uniform Costume clothing clothes apparel dress wear attire dressing garb raiment array rig luxury CALOZERO clothing Made in Italy. Prato Textile Italian Fashion clothing Made in Italy Jackets Style and brand factory CALOZERO

http://acquasheire.com/ Prato Textile Italian Fashion clothing Made in Italy Jackets Style and brand factory. What NOT to Wear in Paris 2019 | How To Avoid Looking Like a Tourist in Paris & Europe

10:30
How to avoid looking like a tourist in Paris? What to wear in Europe? Follow our advice on the things you should not wear in Paris if you don't want to stick out like a sore thumb! The Paris dress code is not at all overwhelming, we're not saying you have to completely embody the Parisian style and dress like a Parisian - there are just a few practical tips to follow. This video was inspired by Charli's blog post "How To Dress in Paris to Fit in with the Locals": http://frenchyet.com/how-to-dress-in-paris-to-fit-in-with-the-locals/ 'Your ticket is booked, your plans made, all that’s left is packing. So what do you wear around Paris if you don’t want to scream “tourist”? Before you start packing, learn the Dos and Don’ts of dressing in Paris for both men and women. In France, dressing nicely is considered good manners, but not looking like a tourist is also a practical matter in Paris. The more you fit in, the less of a target you’ll be for scammers, pickpockets and people trying to sell you stuff you don’t want. It will also save you being stared at by disapproving locals in restaurants. You will get better service wherever you go if you are dressed according to French custom.' Stalk Charli HERE: - Website: http://frenchyet.com - Insta: https://www.instagram.com/charliannejames/?hl=en - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FrenchYet/ I hope you enjoyed these tips on the Paris dress style! 5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

05:16
Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching! Grab a Wolters World Shirt http://www.woltersworld.com/shop Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe. 1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead? 2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US. 3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or "skinnier" fit than in the US. 4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts. 5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles. - Abbigliamento uomo donna autunno inverno primavera estate CALOZERO clothing Made in Italy giubbotti jackets clothes dress wear dressing Fashion Style Beauty Designer Collection Mode Modeling Vogue Role Dior Armani Dolce Designers Boutique Jeans Pants Boots Tight Outfit Flash Dresses Modelling Fancy Jacket Hats Shorts Wearing Gloves Silk Shiny Dirty Satin Glasses Pink Wet Shoes Lace Outfits Coat Suit Shades Lycra Thigh Scarf Accessories Stocking Uniform Costume clothing clothes apparel dress wear attire dressing garb raiment array rig luxury Clothing Made in Italy. Should You Wear Denim Jeans With A Suit Jacket Or Blazer?

When to avoid wearing jeans with a jacket: https://gentl.mn/should-you-wear-jeans-with-jacket SHOP THE VIDEO: 1. Burgundy Red Handcrafted Linen Pocket Square with White Handrolled X Stitch: https://gentl.mn/2KfM7sD 2. Navy and Yellow Shadow Stripe Ribbed Socks Fil d'Ecosse Cotton: https://gentl.mn/2AwtYaw #denim #jeans #notsponsored How you can pull off wearing jeans with jacket? 1. Pair your blazer or sport coat only with your dressiest jeans. That means no holes and no used look. Also it's really important that you have enough contrast between your sport coat and your jeans. In terms of cut, a straight leg or maybe something that slightly tapered works best. Definitely avoid really baggy cuts as well as a bootcut. Also don't cuff or pin roll your jeans because that's simply too casual. 2. Rather than going with a navy blazer, instead branch out and maybe go with jackets that have different colors as well as patterns and materials because that's more contrasting or interesting, but also more casual and it works better with jeans. 3. Make sure to wear your denim and your sport coat with casual shirts to bridge the gap formalities. Long-sleeve dress shirts are good but ideally you should avoid the most formal variations in solid white because they're just too businesslike. 4. Wear the combination of jeans and sport coat with the right kind of shoes. Black oxfords are way too formal and not appropriate. At the same time boat shoes are too informal and should likewise be avoided. What shoes should you wear? Ideally go with brown tones or burgundy and oxblood. If you want to be a little more experimental you can think about olive green, grey or maybe navy. In terms of styles, a classic derby shoe is good just like those burgundy derbies or olive green derbies. Alternatively, you could opt for loafers either tassel loafers or penny loafers. Another good options are monk straps such as those brown single monks with some broguing and a wingtip or those more fashion-forward double monks in burgundy. If you want to go with oxfords go with brogues either half brogues or full brogues. Other good options include chukka boots or Chelsea boots. In terms of leather texture, suede is really great to combine with jeans and a sport coat. Why? Simply because it's a little more casual. When should you not wear jeans and jacket together? 1. The biggest mistake I see men make in this situation is that they pair a traditional business suit with a pair of jeans they have. Particularly it's that black business suit jacket or that pinstripe jacket that they wear with dark blue jeans and it just looks weird and odd. 2. Don't combine jeans with a double-breasted business jacket. Double-breasted is typically more formal. However in recent years double-breasted jackets have become a lot more popular especially at Pitti Uomo. And if you have something that has a nice linen blend maybe with the Prince of Wales pattern and lighter colors, you can definitely combine them with jeans. 3. Never wear a t-shirt with jeans underneath a jacket because it's a clash of formalities. 4. Never wear any kind of black shoes especially not black dress shoes with this combination because it looks out of place. Instead go with browns, tan tones, burgundy tones, greens or anything else but not black. 5. Jeans with a jacket are not ideal if you want to wear a tie, a bow tie or maybe an ascot simply because it would be too formal and a clash. Instead go with a pocket square or maybe a boutonniere because that creates a visual interest and it just creates for a more polished look. 6. Don't wear jeans with a jacket if you want to have a formal dress shirt. 7. Don't wear jeans and a sport coat if you don't know the dress code or if you're unsure about the formality at the event or the occasion you will wear it to. During the colder months of the year, a tweed jacket works really well with jeans simply because it's more casual by definition. That being said there are tons of other jackets which are less formal and therefore equally as well suited to jeans as a tweed jacket. Some of them include a Panama jacket which is more of a summery jacket. Another one, the Harrington jacket. --------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------ Want to stay updated?
