Places to see in ( Redcar - UK )

01:30
Places to see in ( Redcar - UK ) Redcar is a seaside resort and town in the Tees Valley in North East, England. The local council, a unitary authority, is Redcar and Cleveland. Historically Redcar was part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, Redcar lies 7.5 miles (12.1 km) east-north-east of Middlesbrough by the North Sea coast. Today Redcar is made up of numerous areas, including Coatham, Warrenby, Dormanstown, Lakes Estate, Redcar East, The Ings, Ings Farm, Mickledales and Westfield. The Zetland is the world's oldest surviving lifeboat. It was built by Henry Greathead of South Shields and is housed in a sea-front museum at Redcar. The museum is independent and operated by a dedicated group of volunteers. The lifeboat was first stationed at Redcar in 1802. There is a small inshore fishing fleet in Redcar catching lobster, crab and fish, and offering fishing trips to tourists. As high tide at Redcar now comes up to the sea wall, fishing cobles are permitted to park up with their trailers on a broad section of sea front pavement. After the opening of the Middlesbrough to Redcar Railway in 1846 Redcar became a regular destination for Victorian tourists. Each year people from North Yorkshire, Leeds and Scotland visited Redcar for their holidays. From the 19th century to the present day Redcar has featured donkey rides – owned by the Burnistons established locally in antiques and jewellery, scrap metal, mechanics and wool. The sand beach at Redcar stretches approximately 8 miles (13 km) from south-east to north-west. In the north-west the beach runs past Coatham to South Gare breakwater at the mouth of the River Tees. To the south-east the sand beach is bordered by the Stray from Redcar's Zetland Park to Marske-by-the-Sea and then continues on to Saltburn. The Stray is a 2-mile (3 km) long public open strip of coastal grassland situated between the beach and the A1085 road characterised by a series of howles (small chines) leading from the grassland to the beach. The Redcar coastline is a major location for finding fossils of Gryphaea, also known as devil's toenails. The main pedestrianised shopping area is based on and around High Street and runs parallel to the sea front's Esplanade. Amusement arcades have existed at Redcar since the building of the Redcar Pier in 1873, and today the arcades are to be found along the Esplanade. The town has had several parks built for tourism: Coatham Enclosure, Locke Park, Zetland Park, Lily Park, and Amusement Park with its roller coaster. The Amusement Park closed decades ago, and a further small sea front park known locally as Titty-Bottle Park no longer exists as such and in its place on the triangular plot of land on the Esplanade is a red and blue, brick built toilet block and tourist information centre. There are about twenty three listed buildings in Redcar. At the west end of High Street is a Grade II listed clock tower, a memorial to King Edward VII who was a regular visitor to Redcar. The tower has now been refurbished. On the sea front stands the Victorian building of the former Coatham Hotel. The ballroom of the hotel was home to the Redcar Jazz Club, a venue for the up-and-coming bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Also on the sea front is the Grade II listed Zetland Lifeboat Museum. To the east of Redcar is the listed Church of St Peter, designed by Ignatius Bonomi and built 1822–28 Redcar has three railway stations, on the Tees Valley Line served by Northern. From west to east, they are British Steel Redcar, with a limited service for steel workers; Redcar Central, serving the town centre, and Redcar East about a mile to the south-east serving the residential area (unofficially) named after the station. ( Redcar - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Redcar . Lost City Of Atlantis Found In North Sea?

03:38
Support Us On Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/MysteryHistory We Are Also On Steemit: https://steemit.com/@mysteryhistory Divers from oil companies located within the north sea, have been discovering the remains of a drowned ancient city which once spanned from the UK all the way to Denmark. An ancient city so massive its suspected population has been estimated well into the tens of thousands. A team of climatologists, archaeologists and geophysicists, have now successfully mapped the area, which has revealed just how vast and expansive this once 'lost land once was, many specialists are now claiming this was once the 'real heartland' of Europe. This enormous civilization is now believed to have dated back to some 8000 years ago, and that the land mass was submerged over a period of several thousand years, a submersion which began some 20,000 years prior. Dr Richard Bates of the Department of Earth Sciences at St Andrews, who organised the Drowned Landscapes exhibit, covering the finds within the UK, says the data reveals the human story behind Doggerland, a now submerged city of the North Sea that was once larger than many modern European countries. Could these discoveries reveal doggerland as the real lost city of Atlantis? Several hypotheses have placed the sunken island of Atlantis within modern northern Europe, most noted among such researchers is Olaus Rudbeck. Who suspected that Doggerland, as well as Viking Bergen Island, which is thought to have been flooded by a megatsunami following the Storegga slide in 6100 BC, is the real location of Atlantis, a proposition he put forward all the way back in the 16 hundreds. Some have proposed the Celtic Shelf as a possible location, and that there is certainly links to Ireland. Many places have been put forward for the possible location of the sunken city throughout the years, yet none have revealed ruins worthy of such claims, many of these areas being too small to have housed such an enormous city. Doggerland however, fits the bill, not only could it turn out to be the largest ancient civilization found on earth, but it also rests in a possible location, based on historical research, for the city of Atlantis, it was submerged at one point in its history, and it is revealing astonishing ruins of a once great and presently unknown civilization. Dr Bates, a geophysicist, said: ‘Doggerland was the real heartland of Europe until sea levels rose to give us the UK coastline of today. ‘We have speculated for years on the lost land's existence from bones dredged by fishermen all over the North Sea, but it's only since working with oil companies in the last few years that we have been able to re-create what this lost land looked like. ‘When the data was first being processed, I thought it unlikely to give us any useful information, however as more area was covered, it revealed a vast and complex landscape. ‘We have now been able to model its flora and fauna, build up a picture of the ancient people that lived there, and begin to understand some of the dramatic events that subsequently changed the land, including the sea rising and a devastating tsunami.’ The research project is a collaboration between St Andrews and the Universities of Aberdeen, Birmingham, Dundee and Wales Trinity St David. http://thesecretlandofatlantis.weebly.com/

Jim Hall/Bob Brookmeyer - Live at the North Sea Jazz Festival (1979 Album)

01:10:35
"Released for the first time on this 1999 Challenge CD, this live set features the unusual duo of guitarist Jim Hall and valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer, two-thirds of the 1957 Jimmy Giuffre Three. Although there are occasions when one of the musicians accompanies the other one, much of the time Hall and Brookmeyer function as equals, improvising together on a set of standards plus an ad-lib blues called "Sweet Basil." Their ability to improvise while thinking of the whole picture and their knack for spontaneously harmonizing really come in handy during this intriguing and frequently exciting outing. Among the selections reborn in the playing of Hall and Brookmeyer are John Lewis' "Skating in Central Park," "Body and Soul," "Darn That Dream," and "St. Thomas." A successful effort that should not have taken 20 years to release." -AllMusic 1.Skating in Central Park 2. I Hear a Rhapsody 3. My Funny Valentine 4. Body and Soul 5. In a Sentimental Mood 6. TenneT North Sea Power Hub

00:51
By developing the North Sea Wind Power Hub, TenneT and Energinet.dk want to make the energy transition both feasible and affordable. Central to the plan is the construction of one or more islands, so called Power Link Islands with interconnections to surrounding countries, in the middle of the North Sea (Dogger Bank): to which many wind farms can be connected (possibly 70,000 MW to 100,000 MW); from where the generated wind energy can be distributed and transmitted over direct current lines to the North Sea countries of the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Norway and Belgium; where transmission cables will simultaneously function as interconnectors between the energy markets of the aforementioned countries. Besides transmitting wind electricity to the connected countries, these 'wind connectors' will enable the countries to trade electricity; where wind conditions are optimal.

Raiders of the North Sea and it's RAIDER BIG BOX Pledge!! This is a beautiful game about a viking village and the players heroes rising to glory. Raiders of the North Sea is set in the central years of the Viking Age. As Viking warriors, players seek to impress the Chieftain by raiding unsuspecting settlements. Players will need to assemble a crew, collect provisions and journey north to plunder gold, iron and livestock. There is glory to be found in battle, even at the hands of the Valkyrie. So gather your warriors, it’s raiding season! The aim of Raiders of the North Sea is to impress the Chieftain by having the most Victory Points (VP) at the game’s end. Victory Points are gained primarily by raiding Settlements, taking Plunder and making Offerings to the Chieftain. How players use their Plunder is also vital to their success. The game ends when either only 1 Fortress raid remains, all Valkyrie are removed, or all Offerings have been made. Don't forget to hit that subscribe button and please leave a like as well :-)

Shining light this way emphasises the high concentration of particles in water at the spatial scale of a copepod. The particles are phytoplankton cells, protozoans, and detritus. Mulatu Astatke live at North Sea Jazz 2018

18:20
Mulatu Astatke WORLD FUSION SO 15 JULY 2018 MADEIRA 18:00 - 19:15 This concert has already taken place Line up About In the golden days of Ethiopian jazz, there was one name that was central: Mulatu Astatke. And actually that is still true. The keyboard player introduced instruments such as the congas and the vibraphone into the music of his homeland, but also brought the hypnotic Ethiopian melodies to American jazz. It was a small, funky revolution. His soul-oriented groove continued to inspire other musicians well beyond the seventies. His music is still eagerly sampled by DJs and producers. Astatke has been in the spotlight for several years now and he has lost nothing of his old gifts. If someone knows how to link American jazz and the deep East African mystical music, the so-called 'Éthiopiques', then it is Grand Master Mulatu Astatke.
