Metal venetian blinds are available in a huge range of colours and wood effects, making a great alternative, particularly in a modern home, to the more conventional look of curtains. They will instantly lift a tired looking decor by injecting a splash of colour or blending with the existing decor in a soft neutral colouring, if you wish to introduce the blind to a window due to its advantages over the control of light, privacy and temperature in a room.
This type of blind is ideal to also be included in a layered window treatment, as it is fully adjustable and can completely cover the window when the blind is closed. When the blind is partially closed, due to the fully adjustable features of the horizontal aluminium slats of the blind, it offers limited vision and subdued light levels into the room, ideal for low level privacy and light control. When the blind is open, it fits tightly at the top of the window so the room can benefit fully from the maximum amount of daylight available.
Metal venetian blinds particularly in some of the stunning blue colours make a great choice of bathroom blind as unlike fabric blinds such as roller blinds or roman blinds, they are not affected by the humid conditions often associated with a bathroom. Alternatively the look and functionality of a venetian blind is perfect for a modern bedroom window, with the slat tilt control fitted to the side of the blind allowing for adjustment for the all important privacy requirements of a bedroom, whilst also creating a bedroom window treatment of sophisticated elegance.
Wood effect metal venetian blinds are so realistic that it is often quite difficult to tell the difference between a metal and a real wooden venetian blind. Wooden or wood effect blinds are most popular for a traditional decor or a natural themed decor, particularly one that is mindful of Feng shui or Zen.
Metal venetian blinds are available in various slat sizes, the narrow slat widths, particularly in the modern metallic colours are the most popular as a contemporary window treatment, whereas the wider slat sizes are more popular for the wood effect blinds as they give a more realistic finish.
The reflective high gloss venetian blinds, particularly in white or white with barely there colour finishes will reflect the light around the room as it passes over the blades of the blind or alternatively for a stunning visual effect, venetian blinds with a perforated finish will create an interesting play of light in the room.
Metal venetian blind are the easiest of blinds to keep clean in a potentially greasy situation such as a kitchen window. The aluminium blades of the blind can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, using warm water and a small amount of washing up liquid.
Fitting any style of blind, but particularly vertical or venetian blinds will help to protect your furniture, carpets or wooden flooring from the harmful rays of the sun.
Venetian blind are particularly useful for reducing glare in a room around TV screens or computer monitors, while also helping to create the mood and control the ambience of a room, their timeless appeal and exceptional durability making them an ideal choice for any window in the house.
