I also explain how to sell a food product online and in stores, and the different strategies between selling food offline and how to sell food online. Many people create new kinds of foods all the time. The challenge that people face is that selling the food item is difficult. There are a few things you can do to sell a large quantity of your food product. The first thing you can do to sell your food item is to try to sell it in local stores. You can sell your food product in local supermarkets. Supermarkets do accept new kinds of foods. The challenge is that they will likely pay you very little, and impose many requirements like great labels and food packaging which are expensive. The other approach to sell your food item is to sell that food online. You can sell food from your own website, or from sites like http://www.amazon.com You can sell food online, but the challenge is shipping. If you create food that ships easily, that is great. But if shipping will be complex, it may drive up your costs which would deter some buyers. So there should be a solid strategy for how to sell your food online. You can also attempt to sell a food item wholesale. If you need extra help to write a business plan for your food item or to get marketing help to sell a food item, you can hire me as a business coach. Here is a page explaining how I can help you write a business plan for a food item, and sell your new food. http://glowingstart.com/hire-business-coach-mentor-advisor/ Additionally, you can easily sell your own food item from your site. Here is how to set up a basic site and begin selling from it: http://www.problemio.com/website.html The other way to sell your food item is to try to sell it wholesale to restaurants. That is also difficult. But as you may guess, all these techniques and strategies are not too simple. How to align structure and processes......Five ideas about organization design....PART 3

09:11
Video posted on my blog http://www.organizationdesign.net An organization is only as effective as its processes. So when we design the formal structure of an organization, it should improve rather than obstruct process performance. But all too often, the structure and the processes are poorly aligned. Accountability for process performance is blurred. Multiple layers of managers slow down decision making. Activities that should be tightly integrated are instead separated. How can we avoid this? In this video, I describe one approach. I present the FRAPS tool, which stands for "Framework for Aligning Processes and Structure": The tool is particularly useful when you evaluate two sets of processes or two sets of roles against each other. Here are some examples: - "Marketing and sales -- should they be grouped together or should they remain separate (and report to two different managers?) - Should we outsource manufacturing (and by implication, separate it from engineering, which is still going to be internal)? - Should customer support and sales be integrated? Although the tool itself is simple -- it is just a 2x2 diagram - it summarizes a large body of theory and research on organization design. The principle behind the diagram is powerful yet frequently neglected. The purpose is to ensure that the formal structure (in particular, the boundaries between units) matches the resource and information flows. This is the third video in my series about "five organization design ideas that may change the world". You can view the previous two videos here and here. P.S. If you want more detailed information about this approach, it's in chapter 5 and 7 of my book (see particularly page 168). The book is available from amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Organisation-Design-Dr-Nicolay-Worren/dp/0273738836/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1369592355&sr=1-1

What Is a Boning Knife? | Knives

02:37
Watch more What You Need to Know About Knives videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/496956-What-Is-a-Boning-Knife-Knives Hi. My name's Dan Delavan. I'm the owner/operator of Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, California. We have a great selection, we also have a website, plazacutlery.com and today we're going to be talking about knives. A boning knife is a knife that you use after your carving knife, so after you've done your carving and you're getting in and you need to do some closer work that's where your boning knife comes in. So the boning knife is used for trimming around the bones and so forth, also if you're cleaning the chicken or turkey and you're breaking it up into parts, your boning knife would be your knife you would want to use. Okay, here we have a Global. Global is a Japanese make. It's a really fine blade, really popular with high end European chefs and a lot of chefs here. It's actually the majority of the knives that we have at home are Global. It's thinner blade on cutting edge than some of the knives. And the advantage to the thinner blade, it's less drag and stays sharper a little bit longer. The downside is you can damage it. This knife is semi-flexible, so you have a little bit of flexibility to it. It has a guard built in so your hand stays back. This one also is all metal and they do have these little dimples in it to keep your hand from sliding and a lot of people go, you know, "It's going to be too slippery", don't find it slippery at all. And with the shape on it, when you go to grip it, you're gripping it in this manner, you pretty much have it locked into your hand so you're not going to have any trouble. But again it's a nice, flexible blade. Here we have a traditional Victorinox. It's what's used in a lot of the butcher shops, meat packing shops for years. This one, again, has a semi-flexible blade. It also comes in a completely stiff blade. But again, it's nice and narrow so you can get in. Any of them that have this kind of curve in it, if you're going through like chicken joints and wings and so forth, you don't want to use the tip of the blade because it's easy to break it off because there's not as much strength out there at the tip. You want to use back in the heel, where you pull the piece of meat up, and then push that bigger wedge through in order to cut through the joint. This one has a fiber ox handle, which is what's required in the butcher shops. They are no longer supposed to use wood, at least in the state of California, and it's a very good value. If you want a really good knife, the Victorinox is a hard one to beat, and it is the same as the Swiss Army Knife company. Same manufacturer.

It is the world's second largest restaurant chain overall (as measured by sales) after McDonald's, with over 18,000 outlets in 120 countries and territories as of December 2012. The company is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, a restaurant company that also owns the Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurant chains. KFC was founded by Harland Sanders, an entrepreneur who began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky, during the Great Depression. Sanders identified the potential of the restaurant franchising concept, and the first "Kentucky Fried Chicken" franchise opened in Utah in 1952. KFC popularized chicken in the fast food industry, diversifying the market by challenging the established dominance of the hamburger. By branding himself as "Colonel Sanders," Harland became a prominent figure of American cultural history, and his image remains widely used in KFC advertising. However, the company's rapid expansion saw it overwhelm the ageing Sanders, and in 1964 he sold the company to a group of investors led by John Y. Brown, Jr. and Jack C. Massey. KFC was one of the first fast food chains to expand internationally, opening outlets in England, Mexico and Jamaica by the mid-1960s. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, KFC experienced mixed fortunes domestically, as it went through a series of changes in corporate ownership with little or no experience in the restaurant business. In the early 1970s, KFC was sold to the spirits distributor Heublein, who were taken over by the R.J. Reynolds food and tobacco conglomerate, who sold the chain to PepsiCo. The chain continued to expand overseas however, and in 1987 KFC became the first Western restaurant chain to open in China. The chain has since expanded rapidly in China, which is now the company's most profitable market. PepsiCo spun off its restaurants division as Tricon Global Restaurants, which later changed its name to Yum! Brands. KFC's original product is pressure fried chicken pieces, seasoned with Sanders' recipe of 11 herbs and spices.

4/2/13 Indy ASQ Dinner Meeting - System Reliability and Product Validation

01:01:51
Andre Kleyner, the author of two books on reliability and warranty, will talk about Product Reliability, how it is different from Quality and what it takes to build reliable products.
B9 Global Harmonization

23:36
Global Harmonization: Standardizing Quality Management Processes to Promote Consistency throughout a Global Enterprise Tom Barlow As businesses become increasingly global in nature, it is more important than ever to have standard practices throughout these enterprises. A product from one area should be identical to another produced in another area—it should be of the same quality and held to the same standards. This not only applies to products but processes as well. A global empire needs consistency and conformity to be successful. In this session, we will look at the elements of a successful Global Harmonization initiative, including: People: An organization needs someone to manage elements that are being tracked and make small changes—they need compromise. They must identify teams that will verify the process, oversee the process and ensure it is running smoothly, find common areas for standardization, and have teams travel to other sites to ensure the process is going as expected. Processes: The software needs to adapt to having multiple processes that are operating in a corporate standard. The characteristics of an effective process include being repeatable, adaptable to any system throughout the enterprise, having only one SOP and work instruction, and being auditable and scalable. Governance: Finally, without governance an organization may fall into a pattern of separation. Proper governance ensures that all standardized processes are followed exactly, by tracking progress, ensuring issues are resolved, and ensuring effective communication. Governance helps determine plans for future and change management prepares all users for adapting to the new process. This session will further explain the benefits of Global Harmonization such as consistency, lowered cost of system administration, and increased visibility across the enterprise. It will demonstrate how Global Harmonization allows facilities to be synced up in how their corporate culture approaches quality. It ultimately allows different sites to speak the same language because they will be following a common framework—while remaining unique.

Using the 4 Ps at Energizer

11:41
Using the 4 Ps at Energizer The Energizer Bunny is a marketing icon. How many people are not familiar with this marketing campaign? The precursor to the company known today as Energizer was founded by two inventors: the inventor of the battery and the inventor of the flashlight. The synergy should be obvious. This partnership grew into the leading manufacturer and seller of batteries in the world today. Energizer is truly a global company operating across the globe. Energizer has developed and implemented an outstanding marketing approach to its product lines. In fact, Energizer demonstrates the full range of marketing concepts, including the use of social media and market research in successfully promoting and sustaining a brand. Advertising Age magazine ranks the brand icon Energizer Bunny as the #5 brand icon of the twentieth century. This provides Energizer a competitive advantage in many of its markets. The company is continually involved in new product development through the identification and understanding of consumer needs, including how a person intends to use a battery, in what devices, and the types of users for various products where Energizer batteries can be used. Energizer has a well developed and highly effective marketing division that is responsible for helping to ensure the success of current and new products. The video walks the viewer through the 4 Ps of marketing—product, price, place, and promotion—and shows how Energizer utilizes marketing concepts effectively. The company views its approach to marketing and selling its product lines as one that is focused on developing, cultivating, and expanding customer relationships. Energizer is a company that has been significantly impacted by the growth of technology and uses this and the growth of the Internet as parts of its overall marketing communications approach to develop strong and lasting relationships with its customers. The video demonstrates the importance of relationship marketing as a key to Energizer's success. The complexities involved in the marketing mix, marketing research, and new product development are highlighted through specific examples, such as the new product introduced by the company each summer. We see how the company uses qualitative data such as focus groups and secondary data to test market its product, elicit customer feedback, collect demographic and other data, and match its marketing strategy so as to be consistent with the appropriate segmentation factors.

01:05:52
Moderator: Mohana Kamatchi, Symantec Panelists: Madhu Bindiganvalae (EMC Corporation); Christie Caldwell, Aperian Global; Azra Jabeen (Symantec); Cynthia Srinivas, NetApp; Tathagat Varma, Yahoo! India R&D The changing face of the workforce and increasing globalization of business has made management of cultural differences unavoidable in projects. However, once people are organized into teams, real or virtual and expected to work collaboratively for a common goal, it becomes impossible for the project manager to try to handle multiculturalism by dealing with each employee individually according to his or her own cultural needs. The manager now has to manage not only a set of culturally different individuals but a process involving different cultural responses. This calls for cultural intelligence (CQ), an aspect of global business that is most often overlooked. In this panel discussion, we aim to explore CQ, a key managerial competency for the twenty first century and its impact on project management. Luxury Companies Look to Diversify Products

03:53
http://blog.euromonitor.com/ Leading players in the luxury industry are looking for ways to diversify their product portfolios, and many are doing so by releasing beauty products, states Fflur Roberts, Global Head of Luxury Goods Research at Euromonitor. For example, Marc Jacobs opened a store in New York City selling only cosmetics and fragrances, and Tom Ford is releasing a men's cosmetics line in late 2013. Other luxury companies are releasing jewellery and timepieces to diversify their portfolios. Louis Vuitton, for example, opened a store in Paris devoted strictly to jewellery.
Haiti's Island La Gonave is stolen by US companies for OIL

09:57
Haiti's Island La Gonave is stolen by US companies for OIL A summary of the "La Gonave Master Plan": The developer, Global Renewable Energy, claims to be focused on "alternative energy projects," and has already pitched the plan to "buy" the island of La Gonave to the Haitian government, yet a public disclosure of the status of any agreements is unknown outside of the principles involved. The developers' first priority is to build a "crude oil refinery", "petroleum product tank farm", "food processing plant", and "industrial port" in the planned "industrial city", but they are promoting their project (Ironic at all to call it the "La Gonave Master Plan?") as an "island paradise and business mecca", that will be a "home for international business and the destination for world travelers." Why develop La Gonave? Because "Developers within the energy sector will be more likely to assume the risks due to the large profit margins that may be realized by them." GRE minimizes the environmental impact that an oil refinery on La Gonave will have, saying: "The oil refinery is created from mini-refineries. This type of refinery has much less impact on its surroundings. The refinery will be located within the industrial city and visually isolated from the rest of the island by the Jatropha Plantation. Additionally, the refinery and industrial city are located on La Gonave's most western tip thus minimizing any impact on La Gonave. The prevailing wind direction is from the east. This prevailing wind direction will carry the minimal emissions out to sea to the west thus not negatively impacting La Gonave or the rest of Haiti When the project is complete in the 20 year span visualized by GRE, Haitians who remain on the island, will be 60% employed ("a large trainable workforce") by the project's proposed businesses (mostly the "industrial plantation"). Haitians might well ask, what of the 40% not employed? Also, what of the fact that local island residents will be hindered from traveling freely from/to the island because the only way to get there will be via a private executive airport or the large industrial dock for cruise ships? The majority of the island (a 65,000 acre project) will be taken up by an "industrial plantation." Haitians should be concerned that the Republic of Haiti's government will only be designated as a "shareholder" in the proposed agreement. Who will be the civic authorities in this "island paradise"? It should be unacceptable that this "master" plan proposes a sort of Vatican City of the Caribbean with no official government oversight. Will Haitians want a cadre of international business executives placidly profiting from the natural resources of Haiti and running the island of La Gonave like a "business?" Hopefully not.No Copyright Infringement intended. I DO NOT OWN THIS VIDEO

The Child Versus The Beast

03:02
Visit our website on: http://www.childvsbeast.com The Child Versus The Beast is a powerful literary work based on the heartwarming and impressive real-life story, about a boy who from birth was pursued by international religious sect. This is a true story based on the moving life of Samuel Beníquez, a young man who, from the moment of his birth, was unjustly condemned and persecuted by an international religious sect, simply for being the product of the love which the global leader of that sect felt for a humble woman, which caused the global leader to ignore the sect's vow of celibacy. After his birth, the child experienced the bitter reality of being denied by his biological father, who denigrated his mother's reputation and forced her to give him up for adoption and then work as the maid in the home of the child's adoptive parents, thus hiding from his parishioners the fact that he was the real father. Within the parish, the boy meets his soul brother, Samuel Ortiz, and growing up, they help each other to escape from the sect, which makes them the object of persecutions, intrigue, death threats, lies, attempted murders and extortion for the rest of their lives. But this does not push them apart or stop them, and in an attempt to put an end to all the oppression, Samuel Ortiz helps Samuel Beníquez to file a paternity suit in court, to prove that the leader of this multinational religious sect was his biological father. This may allow them to put an end to the abuse, persecution and injustice from his father. Following a high profile public, legal, and media battle lasting almost a decade, the case finally reaches the Supreme Court. In the end, Samuel Beníquez prevails through a DNA test which proves that said religious leader was in fact his biological father, vindicating his biological mother and setting a legal precedent in family and adoption cases which will be forever recorded in history. Without doubt, the reader will be shocked to discover that even in the 21st century the power of some religious sects and the people who exercise it shows no mercy towards the victims.

faytech Mainboard Product Presentation

06:50
Arne Weber of faytech Co., Ltd. presents the evolution of faytech's mainboard technology since the start of production in March 2010 till the recent introduction of their new state of the art mainboard design. Learn what makes faytech´s own mainboard series FT2X7410M so special! faytech designed their early Touchscreen PC mainboards around the most widely used chipsets in the industrial touchscreen industry, Intel's N270 and D525. Although these chipsets continue to be used through-out the Touchscreen industry, their graphics components are marginal at best, and the Dual Core Board D525 generates a great deal of heat. The following model with GMA3600 and 3650 graphic chipset (e.g. the N2600, N2800 or D2550) lacks a lot of support from Intel and Microsoft: no 64Bit support, no Win8 support, see http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intelgma3600/sb/CS-033597.htm). So after 3 years of R&D, faytech now offers a sophisticated fanless mainboard solution developed in conjunction with the industrial division of ASUS. In a much smaller package, faytech´s one universal PC mainboard is the backbone of faytech's entire 8"-55" Touchscreen PC product line. Its new proprietary design offers either the Intel N2600 or N2800 CPU, combined with a powerful AMD Radeon Caicos HD 7400 mobile series graphic chip with 512MB dedicated graphic memory, with 2GByte RAM (N2600) or 4GByte RAM (N2800), supporting WinXP, Win7, Win8, Linux, 32Bit, 64Bit and an amazing assortment of connectors including HDMI, VGA, Serial, USB, SATA, Ethernet (2x Gbit Lan), PCIeX1 straddle, 2x Mini-PCIe, GPIO and many others. This variety of connectors allows faytech's Touchscreen devices to be used in many different systems and with many industrial applications. faytech has also introduced a new line of embedded TPCs with a small CPU board and a customizable baseboard. The system is based on Cortex A8 or A9 OMAP Texas Instruments CPUs with 1GHz and 1.2GHz clock speed. The baseboard supports network, serial, USB as well as CAN 2.0-bus connections and supports interfaces like UART, I2C and many more -- perfectly customizable to customer´s needs. faytech Co., Ltd.
