My YouTube video equipment setup primarily consists of a reliable DSLR camera, a microphone, lighting, editing software, and my laptop. As you'd expect, these are arguably the most important pieces of equipment for making high quality YouTube videos, but there are so many options out there to choose from, which can make it pretty confusing to decide what you want.
The YouTube equipment I'm sharing in this video is good for beginners and other intermediate video creators who want to check out new gear for their own YouTube videos or perhaps upgrade certain components of their existing setup.
Most importantly, the two items you'll need to have in your setup to make high quality YouTube videos are:
1. A camera (like a DSLR) OR a nice point-and-shoot, OR a smartphone with a good rear-facing camera.
2. A computer or some software you can use to edit and upload your videos.
To improve from there, you'll want:
3. Lighting, either the natural kind from a window or other source, and/or a lighting kit.
4. A microphone to record better audio than your camera's built-in microphone can. Cell phone microphones actually aren't too bad, so you could use your phone to record audio for your videos.
What kind of gear do you use to make your videos? Let me know in the comments!
