I Didn't Feel Safe At Home Or In School

Louis is a middle child with an older sister and a younger brother. And that can be kind of tough, since any time he wanted to join in on activities with them, he was either too old for his younger brother or too young for his older sister. And, even though he loved his Mom very much, and knew that deep down she really cared about him, still, at times he got the feeling that his Mom loved him a lot less than his other two siblings. For a while it was just his Mother and the three kids since his parents had divorced, and things were okay (and safe) until his Mom met a new person, who just so happened not to like Louis and his little brother very much, and was super strict with a short fuse and a bad temper. If Louis and his little brother didn't do what their new father, well, step-father said, he would hit them, hurt them. Once he hit Louis so hard that he knocked him out. And this then went on for years. It got to the point where Louis actually called the police to come - he didn't feel safe and didn't think his brother or sister were safe either. But, unfortunately, when the police arrived his story was dismissed and ignored because he was "just a child" and his step-father made up a story and schmoozed the cop. So, that was life at home, and his new school was no better. Because of what he was going through at home his self-esteem was really low and he would end up getting bullied just for being a loner, by himself, and a bit scared - who could blame him - but the kids at school weren't nice to say the least. For the entire first year he had no friends at school - literally - and he was always by himself, so the kids made fun of him, called him a loner and a loser, broke him down every single day. Then, after a bad day at school he would head out for a bad night at home - he didn't feel safe anywhere and felt like he had nothing good or positive in his life. And he'd get beat up. After time, with all of that continuing, he saw his stepfather about to hit his little brother and without thinking, Louis stepped in between them and said "NO, YOU CAN'T DO THAT." This only made things tougher and he got hit even harder than usual, but at least he had protected his little brother from the abuse. Up to that point Louis had always felt like an outcast, but something changed inside him then, he had been pushed too far, and he decided to put himself out there, to keep trying, and to overcome all those challenges that had been put on him and to be more confident and less of a loner. He kept trying and trying to be friendly, to say hello and join in where he thought he could, and he never gave up. And finally, someone actually approached him, started a conversation, and Louis' first real friendship had begun! His new friend ended up introducing Louis to more people and he made more friends - he even became known as a popular kid that everybody liked and respected. His confidence grew, and his happiness grew, and things at home started to improve then as well. He got along better with his brother and sister, and his Mom made more of an effort and he felt, finally, equally loved and cared for. He felt like part of the family again, like home was a real safe place for him, and he felt good and welcomed and liked at school too! How did he do it? He just stayed strong on the inside and tried not to let all the challenges take him down. He pushed himself to get out there into his world, be himself, grow his confidence and change his future. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Survived The War But We Lost My Sister

By Zahra | NEW CONTEST: follow us on Instagram https://Instagram.com/thestorybooth to enter for a chance to get you as a character drawn by us | Comment, like, share this story | Subscribe : http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth Zahra's Dad is from England, and her Mom is from Iraq - but she was born in England. When Zahra was seven years old her Mom suggested that the whole family go back to Iraq to see her side of the family, and she wanted to stay for awhile so that Zhara and her sisters and brotherts could really get to know them. Her Dad thought it was a crazy idea - that her Mom was out of her mind - after all, there was a war going on, it was dangerous, and not everyone there in Iraq was guaranteed to survive. But her Mom felt very strongly about it - she wanted Zahra and her sisters and brothers to see the place where she had been born and raised, where her family was - their grandparents and other relatives. And so, finally, their Dad gave in and agreed that they would go - war or no war - and they moved. Everything was fine for a couple of years, until Zahra turned nine. One night - it was actually 4:00 AM - Zahra woke to the sounds of yells, screams, and crying. She was confused at first, but something was definitely going on outside on the street. She went to the window and there, across the street, an entire building was on fire. She rushed into her Mom's room, woke her, and dragged her down the hall to her own room to show her. Her Mom let out a scream and then went quickly to wake the rest of the family. It didn't take long for them to realize that the war had come to them, their city was being attacked. Bombs were falling. There was nothing much they could do, in order to survive they needed to shelter in place and try to wait it out for as long as they could. But, after a few weeks they were running very low on food - they had been inside trying to avoid the war and survive since those first bombs fell. Her Dad saw that they wouldn't survive much longer without food and supplies and so he and Zahra's older sister packed some gear, gave out hugs and kisses to the family, and set out into the war torn city in search of food. After four days without any sign or word from her Dad and sister her Mom started to panic and they all started to fear for their safety and survival. They began to lose hope as time continued to drift by without their Father and sister returning, and finally, they felt there was nothing they could do except to pray, and so they did - and, a miracle, a mixed blessing, but a blessing nonetheless - their father appeared out of the smoke and haze of the street, alone. He was injured, exhausted, and not in good shape, crying - Zahra's sister was gone, forever. It has taken time, but Zahra has faith and a strong belief, and she knows that there was a purpose for her sister leaving this earth. And, she realizes that now her sister will be with her, by her side, forever and no matter what. As soon as they could they moved back to England, and now at thirteen years old, she is happy again. Her life is good and full of blessings. She survived the war but lost her sister, and she misses her of course, but, she also knows now that no matter how tough things get, even in war, they can and do get better. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! My Parents Couldn't Take Care Of Me Anymore

By Cassie | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Cassie's family was poor, but despite having financial problems they always managed to find love and some happiness together - at least when she was younger. But that didn't mean it wasn't hard on her growing up, on all of them really. It was a tough childhood with her dad having to go wherever he could find work, and her Mom and her being alone most of the time. Her Mom was always super protective of her, Cassie being an only child, and she was almost like a single mother because Cassie's Dad was hardly ever home, and all of that pressure and stress really put a strain on her Mom's mind. Without any funds for medical treatment, for when Cassie got sick, or for her Mom's mental health with all that financial stress and pressure, and loneliness, everything got worse. But despite all of that, with the love she knew was there at home no matter what the circumstances were, Cassie managed to stay happy as she was growing up, and, working hard, she was able to do really well at school. Focusing on her studies actually helped her get through some of the tough times at home - something to focus on and distract her from the stress and pressure her Mom and Dad were under. But finally, when Cassie was 13 years old, her Dad got a big break! A good paying job that he was perfect for and things started to turn around for them, started actually going well. All of a sudden they didn't have to struggle to afford the basic necessities, and they could even afford things that felt like real luxuries - like having their own car. Unfortunately, that good luck didn't last long. Her Dad's new boss turned out to be a con man and a crook. Cassie's Dad ended up losing the car, and all the money he had made for the family, leaving the whole family with very little hope. They were left almost penniless and her Dad had to get back on the road looking for hard labor for even less pay. All those bills and her Dad traveling for work took a tough toll on her Mother, in fact, the stress and mental pressure it all caused led to a moment that would change Cassie's life forever. Her Mother's mental illness and her challenges with depression worsened into severe paranoia and bipolar disorder, and those conditions led to a tragic event that left her Mother unable to take care of Cassie anymore. With her Mother needing care, and her Father still required to be away for work, Cassie felt like she was left without a family, and with nobody to take care of her. She felt alone and hopeless - at such a young age Cassie felt like she couldn't go on. With nothing left to do she finally reached out for help and called her Aunt and Uncle and they were so kind and generous and agreed to take Cassie in as her guardians. She joined their family - her Aunt and Uncle and her two cousins. Now Cassie is seventeen years old, in her final year at high school. And, it has been hard for her to adjust to a new lifestyle with her Aunt and Uncle and cousins - a life where money and finances aren't a problem, and painful when she thinks about her parents are still struggling to stay healthy and make ends meet. But working hard on school, and keeping her studies a priority, while still thinking of what happened in the past, keeps her motivated and driven to work as hard as she can so that one day she could potentially provide for her parents in ways that they hadn't been able to, despite all of their love and hard work. She plans to ensure this does not have one of those tragic endings. She thought, "My parents love me and someday I will help them out of their bad situation with my love. We will be a family again. Just because my parents couldn't take care of me anymore, does not mean they don't love me." - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! My Best Friend Turned Out To Be A Mean Girl

By Grace | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Grace is a girl from England living in a foreign country, the island of Cyprus, during middle school. As a foreigner, she had some difficulty making friends in school at first because she was so different from the other kids in her classes. Then she met another British girl named Bethany. Bethany was also not like the other students because she too was from England. She was nice and immediately offered to introduce her to other people including Amy and Nicolas. They quickly became friends, best friends, BFFs, spending lots of time together doing all the things that best friends do. After a few years, they were all still close as ever. Best friends for life! So it seemed. Grace began to realize that Amy was not as good a fiend and she thought she was. For a long time, Amy would insult Grace, calling her overweight, saying she was not pretty and her clothes were gross. Those insults hurt her a lot. Grace would go home and cry in her room on her bed. Worst of all, is that she wouldn't eat because Amy called her overweight. She started developing an eating disorder, lost weight which went of for a long time all because of how Amy would insult her constantly. Grace eventually began to talk with her mother and parents about the situation. He mom noticed that she was sad, angry, losing mire and more weight and was not healthy. These conversations and her mum's support helped her to realize and see that she needed to confront Amy. Mom's are like that, giving you some great encouragement. So that's exactly what Grace did. She confronted Amy asking her why she was so mean all the time. Why was she such a mean girl? "Why are you so me to us and why do you always insult us?" She asked Amy. Amy responded as if Grace and Nicholas were crazy, or being babies and in responded ended up insulting her, calling her an insult yet again. That last insult helped Grace definitively realize that Amy was NOT a good friend and that all these years since meeting her in middle school, well into high school, Grace had been "under her spell" so to speak, allowing Amy to continue to get worse and worse in terms of insulting and belittling she and Nicholas. And Grace had finally had enough of it. So, she broke off her friendship with Amy, distancing herself from the toxic and mean words Amy would use all the time. Amy denied it all of course, and simply said "Whatever". Grace stayed with her friend Nicolas and eventually went home to find that Amy had blocked her from all social media. When Grace retuned to school the next day, Bethany revealed to her that Amy had betrayed her by telling other students, teachers and kids that Grace was having a tough time with some personal issues and emotional stuff and was acting like a fool. She was spreading rumors now, one of the biggest acts of betrayal a friend can do. She was so angry and mad. But, she never said anything in order to not look like a bad person. Instead she would take the high road and ignore it. That worked and now Grace is really happy with her two best friends Bethany and Nicholas, and while she sometimes wishes this hadn't happened with Amy, and they were still friends because they really didi have fun together. But Grace clearly realized that if a person you spend so much time with and shard experiences with constantly insults you even when you've confronted them and asked them to stop, what kind of friendship can that be? Being horrible to someone is not a healthy way to build a true relationship and lifelong friendship. - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Had A Bad Experience With Drugs

By Kassandra | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Kassandra isn't a bad kid at all, and neither is her boyfriend who she has been with for a while, and so it was maybe a little bit weird that one morning on their way into school her boyfriend showed her that he had a weed brownie with him - an edible pot brownie that his cousin had given him - but that didn't bother her much. They felt like they were old enough to make their own decisions - sophomores in high school - and they were both up for trying new things - but having it at school was a little odd. But, on their way into school her boyfriend freaked out because, like so many schools now, they had heightened security and there was a K-9 unit, and he was sure that the dog would sniff out the pot brownie and that would be the end of his high school career. So, Kassandra - to her boyfriend's surprise, said - "okay, let's eat it now!" before we go in." Neither of them had ever tried anything like that before, and so they didn't really know how much to eat, or how it would feel, or how long it would take to start working. So they just pretty much split the brownie in half and ate it all up. Kassandra thought it would be like an instant change, and that she would feel the weed right away, and after she ate it she felt totally normal. She kind of forgot about it and they went off to first period, gym, where they were all playing tennis. And that's when it started - the weed brownie started to work. She began to feel a little bit woozy and shaky, and she was laughing at absolutely everything, everything was funny to her. After first period - gym - when she got into the girl's locker room was when things really stated getting weird. The room started spinning in circles and she got really dizzy - it felt like she was on a boat drifting through the sea. She grabbed her friend and told her what happened, how they had eaten the weed brownie before school started and how now, she really felt like it was kicking in. She walked down the hall to her second period and her mouth got so dry. She felt like it was made of sand paper. Right when she sat down in her second period class the room started spinning around again but this time it all felt like it was moving in slow motion - even her teacher seemed to moving slowly as he approached her and asked if she was okay. She had to deal with the reality that she really didn't feel okay and so she asked if she could go to the nurse. She was freaking out all the way to the nurse's office - dreamy and weird feeling, it was a bad experience. They gave her water and sat her down and asked her what was going on, was she on any medication or anything and she didn't know what to say so she just blurted out that she had taken a weed brownie that morning, and they totally freaked out about it - called the vice principal in who was also freaked out about it, and really mad too. She had a really stern look on her face and went on and on, but Kassandra doesn't remember a thing she said. All she can remember is that she held the principal's hand so tight because she was somehow convinced that she was about to fall off the chair and that somehow that would be an awful thing to happen. She was having a real out of body experience - too much. It was a bad experience with drugs. Finally her mom got there to pick her up and when she found out what had happened she was so mad and on the way home Kassandra was crying and sobbing and still everything was going in slow motion. Now, the one good thing that came out of all of this is that she and her grandma were in a real feud at the time, not talking at all and angry at each other, but, on weed for some reason, all Kassandra could do was hug her grandma and tell her how much she loved and appreciated her - mended! Still, Kassandra does not recommend that anyone do drugs, especially at school where you are almost guaranteed to have a very bad time. She doesn't regret it, but, she wouldn't do it over again if given the choice. In this case she had a bad experience with drugs. - - - We love this true story. Scary Night At Summer Sleepaway Camp

By Jenna | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Every summer, Jenna and her best friend Rebecca go to sleep away camp. And every summer up until this particular one, there was never really any summer camp type problems, nothing too weird or scary, and the days and nights would just flow along - perfect! But this summer, just three days into camp, sleepaway camp, a girl in their bunk woke up in the middle of the night screaming and crying. Everyone woke up, of course, and asked her what happened, what was wrong. She was literally as white as a sheet of paper and looked like she had just seen a ghost. When she had calmed down enough she told everyone that she had woken up and seen three creepy children sitting in the middle of the floor of their bunk holding hands. Everyone freaked out and started screaming and running around, but Jenna didn't believe it. She didn't believe until another girl ran up and said "wait, you saw it too? I thought it was just a dream I had." That was it - everyone started going crazy - until finally a camp director had to come in and quiet them down. After a scary sleepless night, Jenna and Rebecca went up to a counselor they knew and asked her if there were any summer camp legends involving creepy children showing up in the middle of the night. The counselor got very serious all of a sudden, knelt down, and told them that it wasn't legend - it was true! She told them how fifty years earlier, when the summer camp was started, there was a crazy cook who ran the kitchen and mess hall. That first summer, the crazy cook chopped up some of the children and baked them into chicken pies. The counselor then went on to tell them that these three scary creepy children that the other campers had seen were the ghosts of the kids who had been chopped up and baked into the other campers' dinners. The girls who had gathered around flipped out - they were convinced that the scary story was totally and completely true. It was one of those scary true stories you hear about. How else would the girl have seen three kids, and the counselor's story was so perfectly perfect. The girls told everyone they could, and soon the whole camp was buzzing about the scary nights they had ahead of them. So, that night, when they went to bed, they all kept their flashlights on and the covers pulled up over their heads, and then waited for their counselors to call it a night and go to sleep. At midnight they all pulled their covers down and there, suddenly, they saw three creepy children in the middle of the floor, holding hands, swaying, and chanting weird ritualistic chants. The girls started freaking out again. They jumped out of their bunk beds - some of them fell - and a counselor woke up, so mad, and came in and started screaming at all of them. She shined her flashlight on the three figures by the door and it was three boys from the boys camp, dressed up and pranking them because they had heard about the story going around. Even still, it scared the wits out of the girls, one of the scariest nights of their lives. The boys were suspended from summer camp for a week! And, even though it all turned out to be nothing, still, it was hard to eat the chicken pies after that... - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! A Creepy Guy Followed Me

By Kayley | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Kayley was singing with her Mom and her sister, with the Praise Team at Church. She was finished up at Church before her Mom and sister, so she headed out to the parking lot to wait at their car. She was going to get there and wait for her Mother. All of a sudden this red car appeared, kind of dark and scary, and it started driving up to her, following her. Kayley sped up, and tried to act normal - even though it was really creepy - she just wanted to get to her Mom's car, get in, and get away from whatever creepy guy was following her. But, when she sped up, the car sped up too, and it blocked her way. Kayley just stopped and turned around - confused, and a little scared - she just wanted to know who this person was and what they wanted. And then, the creepy guy rolled down his window. He was a heavy set guy who Kayley guessed was probably forty or more years old - to her, an old man, and not at all sweet looking. He leaned out of his window and asked Kayley what her name was. He was trying to act cool - it was not working - he was a total creep, a creeper, maybe even a predator. Kayley turned and walked behind his stopped car to get to hers BUT he caught her off guard, got quietly out of his car, and popped up at her car just as she got there. At that point she had pretty much had enough - this guy was weird and creepy and too old - it made her mad, and she just wanted to be done with whatever it was this creeper was after. "What do you want?" she asked. Of course, this overweight old man tried to act all smooth. He said "I wanted to talk to you because you look nice, and you're beautiful, and you look kind, oh, and because you have huge _______" Wait?!? What did he just say?!?!? It was so ridiculous. She'd been catcalled before, walking around her neighborhood, like a lot of young girls have, and that was creepy enough, but this guy was taking it to a whole new level. It was inappropriate and embarrassing. When he asked for her phone number she finally let him know that she was seventeen years old, JUST seventeen! She called him out on it, told him that following a seventeen-year-old high school girl and talking that way to her was beyond gross, creepy, and awkward, it was downright inappropriate. That got to him, because he slunk back to his car and drove away, ironically parking by the Church and walking in. Kayley hoped he didn't act that way with anybody else, especially in there! Kayley, and every other woman on the planet (by the way), thinks cat calling is really unattractive. Why would you want to call out mean and rude comments to someone, a total stranger, based on how they look? That creepy guy called Kayley kind, and that part was true - she is kind - but not if you're some weird old dude trying to get with her in the most embarrassing way possible. A nice "hello, how are you?" is exactly what people need. - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! My Scary Little Sister

Comment, like, share this story. WATCH MORE: https://goo.gl/9TwG5m We all wonder about our younger siblings - we have to - little brothers and little sisters are sometimes crazy, or weird, or wild, it's just the way they are. But, some, and maybe a very are few, are actually creepy, even a little scary - perhaps sometimes, evil. This is one of those scary stories, creepy stories, paranormal stories. Dani's little sister was like that. Not evil, we'd never say that, but just scary in that scary movie little kid kind of way. A little Chucky, a little Shining, a little Paranormal Activity - or maybe just a lot of mischief, but no matter what, Dani had a scary little sister. And this is a storytime that you will not forget any time soon. When she was babysitting for her one night, and her sister was no more than two years old, could hardly talk, she freaked Dani out by putting together a perfect sentence - the only problem was, what she said - "There's a man in the hallway." She said it in this calm and creepy voice, not like her toddler attempts at all. She has never been so scared in her life. Where there ghosts in the house? Was the house haunted? Was this paranormal activity? It didn't help that Dani had just watched a scary movie about a little kid being possessed, but it wasn't just that one thing. There was more - like when Dani was sitting and playing with her little sister and she stopped and pointed and just said "baby on the wall", and another time when she heard her little sister crying out from her crib while she was up late doing her homework. Dani ran to her, picked her up, and when she asked her what was the matter she said "man in the closet." "My little sister is possessed", she thought to herself. This is not a scary killer clown hoax, or the story of bloody mary, this was real." Dani told her parents about it, about all of it, but they just laughed it off like it was normal behavior for a two-year old. And still, there is something twisted about Dani's sister - like when they went to see Trolls and her sister rooted for the bad guys and was totally upset when the trolls were safe in the end. Weird. Dani loves her little sister of course, but, there is something about her that will always make her wonder if she is evil, paranormal or possessed. Wouldn't you? 4th Of July Fireworks Disaster

A few years ago Sasha and her family visited relatives for the 4th of July. They had a really nice house that was right on a lake, which was awesome, and perfect for the Holiday. They could picnic right at the water's edge, swim all day, and could see the city's massive fireworks display from across the lake without having to deal with the crowds. So, the night of the 4th comes along and they all settle down on blankets on the shore to watch the fireworks display. The fireworks were amazing, seemed to last forever, and Sasha was thinking to herself that this was definitely the best 4th of July ever! After the finale, Sasha started to get up but her cousin Josh pulled her back down and said "wait a minute, the show isn't over!" He told her how their neighbors always get all these illegal fireworks and launch them after the big fireworks show is done. She though 'My gosh, this is fun and a little sketchy." The whole illegal part raised a bit of a red flag, but it also sounded kind of cool and exciting, so, they all sat back down and just then their neighbors lit and launched the first firework. Keep in mind, they were amateurs, not professionals. They had so many fireworks, lined up and down along the beach, and they were really awesome too - like having a whole second fireworks show. The problem though was, that with any illegal fireworks you just never know when one of them, or a bunch of them might be DEFECTIVE! And one of them was. "Oh MY! she thought. Sasha watched as a big rocket looking thing was lit nearby, it seemed normal at first, fire coming out from behind and it lifted off the beach slowly - but then - suddenly - something went wrong and, after only lifting about two or three feet off the ground, it exploded! It wasn't supposed to go off until it was really high up in the air, and it sent these little flaming pieces of metal flying in all directions. It was a fireworks show gone wrong. Sasha and her cousin Josh dove under the blanket, just in time, but her cousin Mikella was not so lucky. A little fireball hit her right in the head and immediately set her hair on fire. She ran around in circles, screaming and crying, and luckily the flames went out pretty quickly, but not before doing some real damage. Total fail! She was crying so hard and there were burns on her neck - she was really scared, but Sasha and her cousin calmed Mikella down by singing Katy Perry's Firework! And it worked. She literally was like a firework - literally half of her hair was burned off and her Mom had to do some magic hair styling to get it looking right again, which she did! Well, she had to cut it pretty short, but it was cute. Everything ended up fine, even though it could have been a total disaster. Still, it was terrifying, and it went from being the best 4th of July to one she would never forget. Fireworks 2018. - - - What's your story? Storytime, storybooth wants to hear it! My Salty Teacher Told Kids Lies About Me

Comment, like, share this story. When Jess was in 3rd grade she had the bright idea of signing up for Viola lessons at school, which turned out not to be such a good idea after all. She pretty much hated the viola, couldn't make a decent sound come out of it, couldn't really read the musical notes, and, because she grew her nails out, it made it almost impossible to make music with the thing. And the problem really, was that Jess refused to cut her nails - it was just something she wouldn't do, viola or not. Her teacher was okay, about most things, but was always telling her to cut her nails and Jess was always refusing. The whole thing was a disaster really, and even though she begged her Mom to let her quit, for some reason, her mother had it in her head that Jess was going to be the next Beethoven and just wouldn't let her stop - for two years - until finally, in the fifth grade her Mom gave up the fight and said "fine, you can quit the viola." And she did, happily. Now, fast forward to 8th grade, in tech glass, and Jess is sitting next to this mean girl who never liked her, who in fact always seemed to go out of her way to be mean to Jess. And she starts teasing Jess about why she quit the viola, essentially saying that she hear it was because Jess refused to cut her nails. It wasn't that big a deal, really, but for some reason it really got under Jess' skin - where had this girl heard that, and why was she even talking about it. It turned out that it was Jess' old viola teacher who had been talking about it, essentially telling all of her little third grade music classes not to be like Jess from the eighth grade and to all keep their nails trimmed, or else they would end up like Jess - unable to play the viola. Jess was so mad. She couldn't understand why this teacher, a grown woman, an adult, was telling lies about her to her classes, essentially spreading rumors that just weren't true. She imagined confronting the teacher, asking why, telling her to stop, yelling at her maybe, but ultimately she realized it wasn't really Jess' problem - it was the Teacher's. The teacher was using Jess, and this lie about her fingernails, to try to get the other kids to do what she wanted . Unfair? Yes. Weird? Yes. Childish? Definitely. But Jess let it go. Well, maybe every once in awhile she still imagines heading back to elementary school to give that teacher a piece of her mind, but she doesn't let it bother her. - - - We love this true story. I Caught My Girlfriend Cheating On Me On Facebook

By Christian | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Christian was a guy who lived in Venezuela. There was this girl in his school who we will call "Stephanie" for the purposes of this story. Stephanie was a pretty girl who had the reputation of dating and then dumping lots of guys for no apparent reason. Even though he heard all of these rumors, Christian still wanted to get to know her, she he did. Quickly they went from being friends to Stephanie asking Christian to be her boyfriend. "She just asked me to be her boyfriend," he thought.."WOW!" He said yes and they began dating. As a couple, boyfriend and girlfriend, they did romantic things like kissing, selfie kisses, and she would give him chocolates, presents and he really appreciate those gestures of love and kindness. He was in love. Things stated getting fishy when he saw a photo of her with another guy. This boy looked 16 to 18 years old. Christian confronted her and asked her who the guy in the pictures was. Stephanie lied and told Christian it was her brother. To cover her tracks, she showed Christian a room in her house she claimed was her brother''s room, the boy in the picture. Everything went downhill when Christian went on Summer vacation to Madeira. There he went onto his Facebook, scrolled up through his timeline when he saw more pictures of Stephanie with the same older guy she claimed was her brother. So investigating further, he scrolled through her profile and photos and found very incriminating photos of Stephanie kissing this guy on the lips. Christian was in complete shock. "My girlfriend lied cheated and betrayed me" he thought. She is still lying and still cheating on me. I can't trust her anymore. Finding even more photos that were romantic between she and this older guy, Christian was crushed, sad, disappointed, felt betrayed and angry. He thought, "she dumped me over some other guy." She was his girlfriend and it hurt that she was dishonest and betrayed him. He found out in such a hurtful way with evidence he could see for himself. Dealing with his feelings for the rest of his vacation, he eventually came home and confronted his girlfriend again. "You cheated on me" he told her with anger, then walked away from her. A day passed and the next morning Stephanie came up to Christian and apologized with crying, tears, remorse and regret. She even tried to become friends but he decided what she did was not forgivable and chose not to forgive her. Christian decided that someone had to help her understand the consequences of her actions, her dishonest actions, it should be him. We love this true story. Instant Snow Disaster

Comment, like, share this story. WATCH MORE: https://goo.gl/9TwG5m Nicole had never had a white Christmas, in fact, she lives somewhere that has never had snow, ever. So, when she and her Mom were shopping for Christmas decorations at their local Home Depot, and she saw Instant Snow – you just add water and like magic, snow appears – she had to have it. How can you deny a kid snow on Christmas? You can't, so her Mom bought it for her – and she showed her friends and they loved it! They asked if she would share it and of course, she said sure. She put some of the white powder into a bunch of zip-loc baggies, labeled them, and brought them to school to share with her friends. But this isn't a story about Christmas, or instant snow, or about sharing with her Fam - friends or other students. This is a story about adults getting it wrong, and kids just being kids, and a lot of drama with Teachers and Parents and the Police – yes, the Cops! - and about how Nicole, and her Mom, are accused of something that they would never, in a million years, do. See, Nicole and her Mom and her friends, they all knew that the white powder being passed around in little baggies was Instant Snow, but the other parents, and the teachers, and the police, they thought it was something different. They thought it was drugs!!! Talk about drama! When one of the girls' Moms spotted the bag of white powder she was alarmed, panicked even, and so when she asked her daughter where she got it and found out she got it at school, she went crazy – called the school and talked to the Principal. When a teacher asked Nicole where she got the white stuff that she was handing out, of course, she said she got it from her Mom. She had no idea that the teacher thought it was anything different than what it was. Mom was called, the Police were called, and finally the truth came out – it wasn't drugs, it was just snow! Talk about a big misunderstanding! Looking back on this, it could have been an incredibly funny prank. But it's best that this story happened just the way it did and no one got hurt, or in trouble. And now Nicole has an AMAZINGLY hilarious and funny story to tell for the rest of her life. Everyone's got a story....we want to hear yours! We Were Haunted By A Creepy Possessed Doll

By Jocelyn & Kathryn | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Jocelyn and Kathryn had been really close friends for over three years and the decided to go spend a Summer weekend at Joceyln's grandma's cabin (a little haunted feeling already) with their family. When they got there it was already a creepy day, rainy and dark and muggy and the girls had to stay inside the cabin and wait it out. Meanwhile, grandma has been out shopping a yard sale and came bursting in, all excited, saying "hey girls come see what I got!" She pulled out this super weird old Native American doll and held it up, and immediately it gave off a super creepy, almost evil, devilish energy. Jocelyn and Kathryn felt it right away. They were scared, and the doll just seemed super haunted to them, even though they could tell that grandma really liked it and wanted it there in the cabin. The girls instantly felt like this just turned int a ghost story, one of those scary stories you hear about, like the 3AM chalenge. She held the creepy little doll lovingly as she described how she found it at a yard sale in town and how the person she got it from said they didn't want it anymore - she gave him sixty cents anyway, and took the scary doll back to the cabin. She seemed seriously possessed when she then took the doll into a spare room, tucked it into the bed, and gave it a kiss. The whole thing and the creepy doll just freaked them out, and the scary way that Jocelyn's grandma was acting with the doll. It was so so scary and creepy and weird. To make matters worse, Jocelyn and Kathryn talked a little smack about the doll, the fact that it was haunted and possessed and just plain creepy, and they kind of felt like maybe they made it mad, that it heard them, or heard their thoughts, and this idea freaked them out even more. Especially when, after Jocelyn's parents had left to take their grandma to bingo, the wifi suddenly cut out and there was no cell signal. So, a little nervous, they decided to just sit on the couch and talk WHEN SUDDENLY from behind them, they heard a sound like a baby crying - but there weren't any babies around, and definitely not ones that sounded like some weird scary baby like this one did. It sounded like it came from behind the door where the creepy doll was tucked into bed. Then, and this was no illusion, they heard scratching from inside the room, like tiny baby hands scratching at the door, or like cat claws. That was it, they ran, out of the cabin, onto their bikes, riding as fast as they could to get away from that creepy haunted doll. But they were in the middle of nowhere really, and it was getting dark and they after a while they started getting cold. They had no choice but to head back to the cabin. They got back and went straight to their bedroom - fast - but something was different when they got there. Before they left, Jocelyn had put a new bra that she had bought into a bag and left it on top of the bed. But when they got into the room it had been moved, they looked everywhere and finally found it, out of the bag and all the way under her bed! They grabbed it, looking at each other with fear in their eyes, when suddenly they heard this deep demonic sounding voice from outside their room that just said - "yeah." They burst out of their room - the voice had come from the spare bedroom where Jocelyn's grandma had tucked the scary doll in. Now, earlier, they had covered the dolls eyes with the blanket, and now, when they went in, the doll's eyes were uncovered, like it was possessed. They ran out screaming. Kathryn went up to this fake tree in the cabin and said "oh I love this tree and I hope nothing bad happens to it." Finally, Jocelyn's parents and grandma came back, and even still, they hardly slept at all. The next day they woke up, walked out into the cabin, and the leaves from that fake tree were scattered all over the floor. They felt pretty sure that they HAD made that creepy doll mad, and that it is haunting their grandma's cabin to this day, but she won't get rid of it - which is scary too - and she talks to it and brushes its hair and tucks it into its own bed. Senior Prom Promposal Gone Wrong - I Got Rejected!

03:11
By Anthony | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Right around the end of March or early April - springtime - high schoolers, especially seniors, start planning for prom. Even though Anthony's senior prom wasn't until the last week in May, all the kids at his school were already making plans about who they were going to ask to prom, and how they were going to do it, coming up with crazy and elaborate promposals. Anthony, a planner, figured out who he wanted to ask, and made sure he had a back-up just in case his first choice rejected him. The first girl he wanted to ask was a Junior that he had talked to a lot at parties and who he had lunch with every once in awhile - he liked her a lot. After school Anthony went to CVS and bought poster board and magic markers, brought it all home and got to work - the promposal sign was good to go! The day he was planning on asking her to prom 2018, her friends and a bunch of other people found out what he was planning. He had only told one person, so it was pretty obvious who had let his secret out. Those people went to that same friend and told him to warn Anthony that if he asked this girl out, she was going to say no and reject him - she was already planning on going with somebody else. So, even though he felt a little bit down about the fact that his first choice was already spoken for, he picked himself up and was thankful that he had a backup! His backup was a sophomore who Anthony thought was a lot prettier than the first girl anyway, but they had hardly ever spoken to each other and only shared one class together - gym. Still, he felt like he had a good chance - and he told a couple of his close friends about his plans. A bunch of kids overheard him telling them, and this one kid came over and told him not to ask the girl out because he would get dumped. Anthony told him to mind his own business, but inside, it made him a little nervous for sure. The next day, with flowers and his sign, and his best friend, he headed out to prompose, blasting the Red Hot Chili Peppers and getting psyched up - to the gym for when she got out of class. He was feeling anxious and excited at the same time! He got his sign and flowers and stood outside the gym doors, waiting, while his friend stood on the side to watch and cheer him on. Finally class ended and people started to come out of the building. As they walked out they saw Anthony with his promposal sign and flowers and they wished him luck, patted his back, gave him thumbs up and crowded around to watch. His heat started pounding faster and faster, when suddenly, one of the girl's friends saw him outside and started laughing, and pointing. Anthony's heat sank. What had gone wrong? The girl never came to or through those doors, instead, she snuck out the back door using her friend to shield her and block her from view. After everyone had given up and left it was just Anthony and his friend standing there. Anthony was so upset as he drove back home. He wanted to tear up his sign and trash the flowers - but he didn't. Later he was hanging out in his room, feeling pretty down, when that girl, his backup who had snuck out of the gym, DM'd him on Instagram, saying that she heard he was planning to ask her to prom, and that she was flattered but didn't feel like she knew him well enough to go with him. She was actually really cool and nice about it, and it made him feel better. Of course, when he went back to school on Monday everybody knew what had happened, and they all talked and gossiped about it. He let it roll right off his back and didn't let it bother him. He went to his senior prom with a friend (a girl), and he had a great time! The most important thing he learned was that even though things didn't work out as he had originally hoped and planned, he kept trying, and in the end, making his best effort to have fun, he brought someone he really knew and liked and had an amazing and memorable prom night. Even though it was one of those prom fails or promposal fails, it was a great experience for him. - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Was Made Fun Of For Being A Late Bloomer

02:58
By Jessica | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Jessica is really skinny. She started going through puberty and developing in certain ways but she’s flat chested. There’s just not much happening with that for her. Also, she hasn’t gotten her period yet, and so those two things – her being a late bloomer – have the girls at her school, and in her grade, making fun of her. It really all started all the way back in 4th grade. This was when all the other girls started developing, and she didn’t. Her friends started getting curves, real curves, while Jessica stayed undeveloped or underdeveloped, and flat. And that’s when people made fun of her and when all of a sudden she looked just a little bit different than the other girls around her. Because she was a late bloomer, they really insulted her. The insults kelpt coming, so she did what she had always been told to do when kids make fun of you or bully you, she went to a trusted adult to tell them, a Teacher looking for advice. But the Teacher just told her to try to ignore it. And, even though she tried, it turned out to be almost impossible – she saw these kids every day, where they made fun of her flat chest and skinny body – called her “flat,” and “ironing board” and "little boy". And the hard part of it was, some of these kids who teased and made fun of her were her friends, or at least they used to be. They would always have these private girl talk moments where they would discuss their periods and how much and how quickly they were developing, and whenever Jessica would try to join the conversation they would stop talking, or just tell her “you wouldn’t know what we’re talking about.” In 6th grade, everything got much harder because for some reason, all at once, all the girls in her grade started getting bigger, and curvier, and just started looking more like young women than little girls. And the boys started noticing – a lot. And when the boys started paying attention to that stuff, they also joined in on the teasing and taunting. More names – “toothpick,” “popsicle stick,” and “board,” and she didn’t know what to do. At one point she had the bright idea that if she just ate more she would put on some pounds and they would turn into curves, but all that did was make her full and sick, and finally, her grandparents put a stop to it. They told her to eat as she always had, and to try to be okay with her body, and that worked for awhile, in fact, things were okay up until she got to 8th grade. In 8th grade, absolutely everyone had started really developing, like well on their way, and even though Jessica had started down her own path through puberty she still hadn’t gotten her period and even though her chest wasn’t 100% flat anymore, there still wasn’t enough up there to notice. Her chest just hadn't developed yet. It wouldn’t have been too much of a problem if people didn’t feel the need to go around flaunting their new bodies and all their curves, but Jessica felt like at her school that’s what everybody did whenever they had the chance. But then Jessica discovered padded bras, that made it look like there was more there than there really was, which was fine by her. But, trying it out, and trying really hard to look curvy, everyone noticed what she was up to and they still teased her. One day at lunch a boy in her class told her she looked like a second grader, and even though she laughed it off, inside she felt like she couldn’t take it anymore. She went home that day and cried for hours, and the next day she pretended to be sick so she wouldn’t have to go to school, all because she was flat chested and a late bloomer. Home from school she was bored, so she decided to just wander around YouTube and ended up finding tons of inspirational stories about body image and puberty and development and really just about loving and respecting your self and your body no matter what the mirror shows you. "I am who I am" she thought. And I love myself for that. From that moment on, she stopped caring what other people thought, and ignoring what they said. All she cares about is that she loves herself no matter what! - - - We love this true story. What's your story? We want to hear it! I Became Popular and it Changed Me

02:58
By Isaiah | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Isaiah had never been cool or popular. He was known as strange, the weird kid - the weirdo - and he stuck to himself. The mean girls and popular kids didn't help his shyness, really hurt his self-esteem, and so, after middle school, he was determined to make high school different. But his first day was scary - new school, new people, and he was still so shy. He set a goal for himself right then. He would overcome his shyness so he could have a chance at being popular. He would join sports teams, get invited to the parties, and would - he hoped - become one of the cool kids. He had envy for them. So, one day he gathered his strength, pushed down his shyness and ignored his bruised self-esteem, and sat down at the table with all the cool kids. It was worse than he even imagined. They were all best friends, the jocks and mean girls, the beautiful people - and they just glared at him. They couldn't believe Isaiah, of all people, had the nerve to come and sit with them at their lunch table. After all, he was still known as the weirdo, that had followed him from middle school to high school. He stayed where he was though, stayed brave, and tried to talk to them, tried to join into their conversations, but they all ignored him - literally turned their backs on him. He ate his lunch, embarrassed and totally alone, even though he was surrounded by those other kids. But the next day, this girl named Mona - one of the cool kids, in fact, probably the most popular girl at school - came up to Isaiah and asked him if he wanted to hang out with her. He looked around and over his shoulder, confused and not believing that she was actually talking to him. He didn't trust it, not from this most popular girl in school, who had been so mean to him just the day before in the lunchroom. But she was, and, still confused, Isaiah said yes. "does she like me?" And so they did, and they started hanging out together all the time and actually became really close, like best friends spending every day after school together, sharing secrets - always together. Then they started to hang out with these other two people from that cool and popular crew and the four of them became a really close group. They were inseparable - the four of them now - and beyond popular. They became the group that everyone wanted to be a part of. They hung out everyday after school, went to the mall, the movies, to each other's houses, to parties and it felt amazing, great, just what he wanted - all the attention, being popular and cool and part of a group. BUT, even though he had wanted to change, had wished for it, had overcome his shyness and really worked on it, he noticed that he was changing in ways he hadn't imagined or planned for. He started to become a really mean and awful person - just like Mona and all her friends had been to him, before he joined the group. He was mean to other kids, made fun of them, hurt them and made them feel small. And he realized that that was how he got popular, how he tried to stay popular, and without him knowing it fully, Mona had taught him to do it. He remembered that Mona had the reputation of also being the meanest girl in the whole school, spreading evil rumors about people and talking behind other kids' backs, drama. That wasn't really who Isaiah was, not at all, and so one day he just asked her "Why did you want to be my friend?" And she said that she felt sorry for him, and that she wanted to help him become cool and popular instead of the weird, loser, loner. He was stunned, confused, and hurt, and he told her he needed a major break from her, and their little crew. but especially her. He suddenly realized that the person he was being, or acting like, wasn't really him, not at all, instead it was just a twisted version of Mona. He found himself again, and things became so much better when he did. He made new friends, that were nice and pure and real - not evil and insecure - and he learned how much more important it was to be true to yourself than it was to be popular or cool to others. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! Well this story was no dream and the animation will bring it to life for you...At the end of 6th grade, Sophie got invited to the Birthday party of a girl she was kind of friends with that year. She was really excited because it was a pool party. This would be a great opportunity for her to spend time with her friends and other students from her school class. Sophie's Mother was just as excited about Summer as Sophie was. So much so, that she went out and bought Sophie a bunch of new bathing suites, bikinis, one pieces, even though the ones she already had fit just fine. Moms can be funny like that. Sophie came home from school and told her Mom, "Ay, Yo Mom, I'm going to this party." Her Mom got up and went to present her with a new bathing suit, the right one for this summer pool party. It was a bikini that tied on the sides of the top and of the bottom. a string bikini. If these ties on the bikini were to untie or break , the bikini would fall apart. Risk that her bikini would fall off? A serious bikini malfunction would potentially lead to a serious bikini fail she would not soon forget. Undeterred by the potential disaster, Sophie, went to the pool party proudly in that string bikini. It was a party FILLED with guys and girls. More guys than girls actually and she was cool with that because many of her best friends were guys. The Summer pool party was going really well and she was having a great time with her friends. Eventually, everyone decided to go on the diving board and because Sofie loved to jump and dive off of the diving board, she joined them without hesitation. When it was her turn, she decided to do a dive off of the diving board. When she hit the water, she realized someone was wrong...bikini malfunction, bikini fail, nightmare time. Her bikini had untied and completely fell off in the water. She tried desperately to retie it but could not. "OMG! I lost my bikini." Without her bikini on because a massive wardrobe malfunction, Sofie slid over to her girlfriend in the pool and whispered to her that she was in trouble, "Yo, my bathing suite just came undone." Her friend immediate went underwater and confirmed the bikini fail. Her friend called all of the other girls, her friends, over to surround her. They tried to help her, they covered her with a floatie, and one girl told all the boys to go the the other side of the pool, so they could not see her. They helped her the best that they could. It was really awkward and embarrassing to say the least. Her fear and embarrassment because of the bathing suit malfunction peaked when she learned that the Mother of the girl who's pool party it was was not home, only her Dad was. She he threw a towel into the pool, and she wrapper herself up in it, slightingly exposing herself buy accident in the process. She got out of the pool, untied string bikini in hand and went into the shed to compose herself where she cried a little at first. Then she retied her sting bikini and returned to the part like nothing ever happened. While she still enjoyed the rest of the party, her embarrassment kept her wanting to go home. When she did go home, she walked over to her Mom and said, "I want to burn this bathing suit" which is exactly what she did. Talk about an embarrassing bikini story. This was a party fail, a bikini fail, a bathing suit fail and a swimming pool fail, all rolled into one day that embarrassed Sophie. She destroyed all traces of that bikini, hoping to destroy the memory of her embarrassing bathing suit story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! It's Storytime. Mexico Earthquake Hit My School

Comment, like, share this story. Marie was a victim of the Central Mexico (Puebla) Earthquake on September 19th 2017. While so many lost their lives, were injured, or lost their homes and property, Marie was lucky - her house didn't crumble, just a few cracks here and there, and her loved ones and family were all okay, and obviously she didn't die. But it was one of the scariest moments in her life and one she will never forget. This is a scary story, a scary TRUE story. The day of the earthquake Marie was at school with her friends, and, as weird as it is, that day the school had scheduled an earthquake drill - like a fire drill but specifically for a catastrophe like the earthquake that happened in Mexico City on that exact same day in 1985 - THE EXACT SAME DAY, September 19, but 32 years earlier. Marie was in math class and the bell and earthquake alarm went off, as scheduled, for the practice run. They all knew it was just a drill and so, slowly and casually they started walking out and evacuating the school. One of Marie's friends was joking around on their way out and said "Hey, what if a real earthquake happened today? Wouldn't that be so hilarious?" They all laughed - convenient since they were already evacuating the school, and it was the anniversary of that big earthquake in Mexico City from before she was born. After they had evacuated the school - as a practice - they waited for a bit and then all headed back to the classes they were in before the drill. After math she had computer class. It was 1:00. After about 10 minutes Marie started to feel weird, a little nauseous and sick to her stomach, like she was going to throw up - but - it wasn't really her insides that were causing it, it was actually they very beginning of the earthquake, like the ground was swaying just slightly and everything felt a little off balance. The feeling started getting stronger, and she noticed the tremors, and the actual shaking, and for a second thought she was imaging it, or hallucinating. Then, all of a sudden, one of her classmates screamed "IT'S AN EARTHQUAKE!!!!" and everyone just stopped, shocked and silent, realizing what was going on around them but the alarm, the one that had just been tested an hour earlier wasn't going off. There was total quiet for a second, and then, they panicked - full on, crazy panic. Their teacher tried to calm them down, told them to stay cool and breathe and to just slowly and easily head down the stairs and back outside - just like they did in the drill. It was time to escape. They didn't listen - instead they started running toward the stairs all at once. Someone behind her yelled "A PIECE OF THE ROOF JUST FELL" and suddenly they were all running down the stairs as fast they could, then as the shaking got worse, even faster, and then when they noticed the stairs beginning to crack and crumble, they went even fast, practically falling down the stairs - pushing and screaming and crying. Marie kept repeating to herself "I don't want to die today. Just get out. Get out!" After they had evacuated and gotten clear of the building the shaking and rumbling seemed to go on forever, but finally the earthquake started to calm down. The kids all looked at each other, they were all alright. Kids were already trying to call their parents and family and some couldn't reach them - the phone service was out - they were crying and scared. They couldn't go back into the school building - there were cracks everywhere and pieces of the roof had fallen through into the hallways and classrooms. She, her friends, classmates and teachers were all dismissed from school to go home to their families. When she finally got home Marie watched the news/ The newscast showed how terrible the earthquake had been and how much damage it had done - it was so scary, terrifying. She and her friends were so lucky and she felt so grateful to be alive and unharmed when so many were in such pain. Now she and her school are working to raise money to help all the cities and towns that were so devastated in the earthquake 2017. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Stole A Sick Fish From A Store

By Rowan | NEW CONTEST: follow us on Instagram https://Instagram.com/thestorybooth to enter for a chance to get you as a character drawn by us | Comment, like, share this story | Subscribe : http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth Rowan and her friend were just driving around, ranting about something - she can't even remember what it was - and they were just in one of those moods that teenagers get into. Rebellious. Wanting to do something truly not good. So, of course, they went to Walmart. Now, here's the thing about Rowan - she LOVES fish. She wants to major in Marine Biology, spends a ton of time studying and researching ocean life, and just happened to have a clean and new 10 gallon fish tank sitting at home, just waiting for fish. She was known as a student who loved fish, the "Fish Girl." If that was weird or not or if kids made fun of her, she didn't not care. Fish were her thing. A light bulb went off. And even though inside, there was a part of her trying to get her not to suggest what she was about to suggest, she couldn't help it. The combination of her rebellious mood and her love of fish overcame her - "LET'S STEAL A FISH!" Her friend Bianca couldn't believe what she heard - this wasn't like Rowan at all. Bianca didn't think they were actually going to go through with it - so she went along. But Rowan was serious. They get to the pets, small animals, and fish section of the store and there, all by itself in a tiny little bowl, was a little blue Betta fish. It looked a little sick, with tattered fins, sort of swimming on its side. A sick fish, the perfect thing to steal and for the right reasons. It touched Rowan's heart, and all of sudden, it wasn't only about lifting a fish and doing something not good, it was about saving this little Betta from its sad Walmart fate. When Bianca saw the sad sick fish, she was totally in, and Rowan came up with a plan. She told Bianca to go to the Fem Care aisle and get a box of pads, and then they emptied the pads into Bianca's purse. Then, they took the container that the beta fish was in, and dropped it into the empty box - a perfect fit. Neither of them had ever stolen anything in their lives, never shoplifted, and the minute they started walking toward the checkout counter they became nervous wrecks. They were shaking, and sweating, looking around, and Rowan started moving really slowly, over thinking it all. Finally, they get to the checkout and pay for the box of pads, but NOT THE FISH! They did it, success, and they walk out to the car, when Bianca realizes she can't find her keys. They're nowhere, AND so they have to take their stolen fish back into the Wal Mart to look for the keys, which they don't find. And, only when they've given up and go back to the car to call a Mom, when they see the keys are sitting in the car. All of that extra fear for no reason! When they finally get into the car she takes the fish out of the box - Gilbert - for his gills,.... Not only had she done something truly not good - stealing a fish - but she had also done something really good - freeing Gilbert from his terrible life in the pet section. She was super proud of her self, she saved a fish, but she also felt morally ambiguous - and didn't really mind the feeling at all. In fact, she loved it! She realized that she never cleared the whole bringing a fish home to live with her thing with her parents, so, they concocted a whole elaborate story about a friend giving her the fish, and so, when she gets home she also realizes that her 10 gallon tank isn't ready for Gilbert. She has to use a big cheese snacks container as a temporary home while the big tank gets prepared, but even in that Gilbert is like a brand new fish! When he finally got into his new tank, it was like a while new world for him - he's living the life of a king now. So, even though she really did do something not good, really, it ended up being something really good. She's not suggesting that others do the same, of course not, but her story happens to have turned out for the best, for her, and for Gilbert the Beta Fish. While this is a funny video, it is also one that makes you think and wonder if she did the right thing. She believes that in this case stealing was the right thing to do to save the life on an animal, or in this case, a beta fish. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! At first she tries to act as if all is well, but when her friend and her boyfriend start to bully the "new kid," for being weird, well, she can't live with that, couldn't sit a the lunch table with them while the other students harassed this other girl, and couldn't stay quiet and watch it happen. Jessii switches sides, she, gathers her strength and courage and sits with the new girl, and guess what, of course she starts getting bullied too. But that's okay, because she knows that what she is doing - standing up to bullies and protecting their victims - is the right thing to do, no matter what. She brings the problem to the principal, but without proof there is little the school can do - until finally, she gets the proof she needs and the bully gets his justice, police and all! A student should never bully another student but it does happen. Tell a teacher, tell a parent, tell a friend, tell a principal, tell the police. I Have No Eyebrows and No Eyelashes

Comment, like, share this story. Jane is a truly unique girl. She's not like everyone else and would even say, "I'm not like normal people". The thing that's different about Jane is that she has no eyebrows and no eyelashes. Having no eyebrows and no eyelashes is a condition that can happen for several reasons. Eyebrows and eyelashes are obviously hair and hair falling out can be very traumatic for a young person. Jane does not have cancer, alopecia or any other disease that caused her eyebrows to fall out or her eyelashes to fall out. She has a mental disorder called Trichotillomania. Trichotillomania is a mental problem that people can get from stress, or through birth. The condition causes chemical reactions in the brain that tells the body to pull out hair from a certain part of the body. In Jane's case, she pulls out her eyebrows and her eyelashes. It's less a form of hair loss, and more of a mental condition she acts on when she's stressed out. Lot's of people stare at her and sometimes they even whisper about her behind her back. It makes her feel sad and really angry. It also makes her crazy and mad when friends ask her why she does not have eyebrows or eyelashes. This is because after she explains her mental condition, Trichotillomania, they act like they understand but she can tell that they are still weirded out. Jane is NOT weird. Her mental problem is just something she deals with and it makes her unique, totally unique, somthing that makes her stand out from the crowd. She says "I am me, and that's who I am." She feels she will never be able to put on makeup and and stuff and be a beauty queen or a diva all because of her appearance. To some people, she may look a little strange. It stinks because her parents have tried virtually everything to help her from doctors to treatment to therapy through therapists, to medicine to hypnotism through hypnosis. But nothing has worked and she can't stop pulling out her eyebrows and pulling out her eyelashes. The good news is that Jane got microblading and now has eyebrows. Microblading is the tattooing of eyebrows where you have none. Microblading is very effective but it did hurt a little. She uses fake eyelashes sometimes but because she has no eyelashes of her own for them to hold on to on her eyelids, the fake eyelashes often fall off. While this could cause anxiety, Jane is used to it and realizes that for now, this is just the consequences of her mental problem that she's trying to cure. She also hopes that her appearance will not effect other kids and people getting to know who she really is inside. But for now she just accepts that she the girl with no eyebrows and no eyelashes. And she's okay with that. - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! Scary Ouija Board - I Wish I Never Played With It

03:24
By Emma | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. On Friday the 13th Emma and her friends decided to have a sleepover at their friend Marisa's house. So, after hanging out, and eating, and chilling together for a bit, their friend Haley was like "Oh my god. We should go play the Ouija board!" Emma had brought it along with her, since it was Friday the 13th after all, and Marisa had never played the Ouija board before. They all went down to the basement - a little creepier and more fun that way, bordering on scary, so, perfect. They start playing, and Emma, and her friends probably too, start getting really scared and freaked out. She was convinced that they were doing something wrong, and that they would draw down evil spirits or ghosts, or other paranormal happenings, and she thought, at least at first, that they were communicating with a mean ghost. It turned out not to be, but at first, she was just plain scared. They were in fact communicating with something, some man, and she swore she could see him in the mirror - she could - but every time she tried to get the other girls to turn and look it would disappear and they didn't see him. The room seemed haunted. Emma was scared - really scared - but she was also 100% sure that they were talking to some spirit, and that she had seen it! Even though they were almost terrified, Emma felt like that had to make contact again and see who this spirit was and what he wanted from them. They were talking to a ghost named Dan. His wife's name was Gina. He kept saying weird stuff through the Ouija board, and repeated the number "790," which, when they looked it up, found out it meant Love and Comfort. So they started asking him questions, like "do you want us to love you?" but that wasn't it. Eventually it came out that they had had a daughter, that she had been kidnapped, and later took her own life. It was such a sad and powerful story, that it had Emma and her friends in tears. They felt compassion, wanted to help and give ease to this troubled spirit. Emma wanted to go dig him up, since he said he was buried under the house, but that didn't seem like a very practical idea. And the ghost kept sharing things with them, like that his daughter's name was Erin, that she was 12 when she died, and would have turned 13 the next day. So Erin had an idea. She asked the ghost if he wanted them to sing Happy Birthday to Erin the Ghost and he said, through the Ouija board, "YES." They figured he would want them to sing it at midnight or something creepy like that, but he said "NO." He wanted them to sing to Erin at six in the morning. It was all so weird, and the girls had gone much farther than they had planned. They quickly said goodbye to Dan the Ghost, and packed the Ouija board away. But still, Emma and her friends were totally terrified and freaked out by what had happened. Some of the things he had said were so weird and troubling and it made Emma totally uncomfortable. The supernatural paranormal experience really got to her. Emma was so upset by it all and out of sorts so she called her sister, told her what happened, and asked what she should do. Her sister told her it was fine, that they said goodbye so the door was closed, but also added that Emma was not very smart for ever playing the Ouija in the first place. Emma got more and more anxious, and finally had to leave - she couldn't do the sleepover after all that. Her Mom picker her up, and Emma told her the whole story. It upset her Mom enough so that she wouldn't let Emma bring the Ouija board into the house, and instead made her leave it in the garage. Emma finally fell asleep - not easy - and she woke up at 7:00 and realized she had missed the 6:00 promise to sing Happy Birthday to Erin the Ghost. So, she sang it an hour late, but hopes that it was good enough for Dan. Emma is fine now, kind of. She can't really stand being alone in the house, especially at night, but so far, no ghostly visits... - - - We love scary true stories. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I'm Not Weird, I Live With ADHD And It Stinks!

02:42
By Mack | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth |WHAT IS ADHD?: http://bit.ly/WHAT-IS-ADHD | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. ADHD stinks! That mostly sums it up for Mack, not completely, but mostly. It's hard to focus and concentrate, and so at school Mack's grades started falling because she would find herself paying attention to a ton of things that weren't important, or at least that didn't have much to do with what they were studying. For instance, in Math, instead of paying attention to the teacher and the work on the board, she would be transfixed by a tiny crumb sitting on the edge of her desk. Mack has had ADHD for as long as she can remember, so she figures she's had it since she was born. And, it has also been really hard for as long as she can remember. Sometimes people think she's weird but she's just Mack, a kid with ADHD. Living with ADHD comes with its own side effects, like depression, and anxiety, and she's been living with those since she was in 4th grade. Now she's in 8th. ADHD treatment also comes with a lot of pills and medications. Mack has been taking as many as five different pills every day for her entire life. That's a lot of medicine. Now she takes three pills a day: one antidepressant, one medication to help her stay focused, and one pill to help her sleep at night. See, ADHD also sometimes brings on insomnia, which is difficulty either falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early. Mack has had insomnia since she was in 3rd grade, and at one point it got so bad that she couldn't sleep at all - she stayed awake for four days straight - she kept falling asleep in school, literally passing out from being so tired. One day she passed out during recess and opened her eyes to find all of her friends standing over her, staring at her. In Mack's opinion, ADHD is one of the hardest conditions to live with that there is. She's still learning to deal with it. It comes with so many side effects, and living with ADHD just makes you really self conscious. People who don't know her probably think she is really weird, especially because when she is feeling really overwhelmed with anxiety she finds she has to find a quiet place, curl up in a tight little ball, and not talk with anyone. And that can go on for up to an hour or two before she starts to feel better. It's been really tough living with ADHD, and Mack's great hope is that she can learn to manage it and overcome the effects and side effects as an adult. BUT, the one thing Mack knows for sure is that living with ADHD, and fighting to overcome it, has made her a stronger and better person, while at the same time, of course, it also is responsible for the parts of her she could do without. It's hard for her to explain - Living with ADHD is definitely a burden, but in a weird way it's also a special thing to have - it boosts your creativity and imagination. It has helped to shape who Mack is today and she is more than okay with that! She has ADHD and she's still learning to deal with it. ADHA is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She's also a great storyteller, with a lot of funny and serious stories to tell. Her stories are always true and this one is a true scary story. Not Scary Little Sister or Bloody Mary scary, this is legit scary. In this, her second storybooth animation story, Chloe shares her experience at school, when her classroom is put into lockdown, and it's not a drill! As far as the teacher and the kids know, it's the real thing. And, as if that isn't bad enough, her Teacher was nervous, too young, and totally inexperienced. It was a scary classroom to begin with and the Teacher couldn't control the class, so, the kids did pretty much whatever they wanted. She tried to teach, but ultimately just got totally stressed out - crazy really - and there was just no structure in the classroom, ever. The Teacher was a wreck, crying in class, telling the kids that they were the worst kids ever and were ruining her life. Even though the Teacher was a hot mess pretty much every day, and even though that sometimes made school difficult, it was also kind of hilarious to watch, entertaining at the very least. But it wasn't funny one day, just in the middle of a lesson, when the Teacher looked up at the digital clock and turned completely white. The clock wasn't showing the time, it was showing the word "bell" - a code word for LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES THAT ARE NOT A PRACTICE DRILL. The kids didn't know that, but the Teacher did, and she totally freaked out. She ordered the kids to huddle in the corner, and didn't instill them with a lot of confidence or any sense of safety at all - instead, she burst out crying and shaking and sat in the corner behind her own desk trying to take deep breathes but really hyperventilating. This was the moment when the gravity of what was happening hit Chloe and her classmates - this was not a school lockdown drill, it was a real school lockdown, maybe with a live shooter, and the only adult in the room was more scared and panicking more than the kids! Chloe was so scared - it felt like life and death was on the line, it was total panic time. The student were crying, danger and anxiety seemed like they was everywhere. She went to her Teacher and asked, "Are we going to die?" and, in a grave and trembling voice, the Teacher looked her in the eyes and said - "I don't know." That was it. This sent the whole class into hysterics. Students were trying to escape. Some kids were even throwing themselves against the windows, wanting to climb out, and Chloe imagined the worst - guns, shooting, her own funeral. She imagined all the things she hadn't yet done in her life. She thought about dying, about her last seconds on earth. Would this be another school shooting? And suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Everybody froze! Was it a shooter, gunmen, an attacker, a killer, the police, the SWAT team, the Army? It occurred to Chloe that a school shooter probably would not knock before entering, and she thought that was kind of weird. And finally, the Teacher must have thought the same thing because she got our from behind her desk and opened the door. It was the Teacher from the class next to theirs, and outside in the hall, everything was totally normal. Their Teacher asked - still shaken - "what's happening? Isn't there a lockdown?!" And the other Teacher said "No, they were just working on the clocks." And that was it, no lockdown, no shooter, no threat, no danger and even though Chloe was of course relieved, it ultimately made her sad to think of what her world has come to - where schools are put into lockdowns and students are afraid for their lives in what is supposed to be a second home and safe place. This kind of storytime is both one of those scary stories and awkwardly funny at the same time, right? Mr Nightmare Lockdown Scary. An Older Boy Took Advantage Of Me

Joslynn had a big extended family with step brothers and sisters, step aunts and cousins, grandparents, the whole family tree was full of step relatives. She spent a lot of time with her cousins and step cousins at their house. On one visit she was watching tv with her step-cousins while the adults were all outside grilling barbecue for dinner - two young girls and an older boy. After watching for a while the two young girls went off to play, leaving her alone with the eldest boy. He moved closer to her on the couch and then reached over and kind of put his arm around her. It was a little weird, and he started telling her how he thought she was so cool and so beautiful and things like that. Josylynn was only nine years old at the time and this boy was much older than her. His compliments made her so uncomfortable, and his arm around her too, but she just sat there, not knowing what to do, and simply said, in a weak voice "umm, thanks. I guess." But that wasn't the most uncomfortable or weirdest part. After a few more strange compliments, he actually leaned in and kissed her - a real kiss - not at all for a nine-year-old. And, being only nine, and being rather shy AND very freaked out, she just sat there. She should have said something, or gone right away to an adult and told them what had just happened, but she was scared, confused, and afraid, and, even though she felt weak about it, she didn't do anything or tell anyone. Even after she got home, and after some time had passed, still, she didn't tell her mom about it. She couldn't explain quite why, but she felt like if she told her mother that she would be disgusted by it, that she wouldn't love her anymore and that ultimately she would just blame Joslynn for not doing anything about it right then and there when it happened. So, she just kept it to herself, a secret. But, maybe because she didn't tell her Mom right away, it got harder and harder to find the right time to come clean and let her secret out, and because of that, it continued - that boy kept taking advantage of her in a way that she did not want him to. The next time she went to her step aunt's house she was playing outside with the younger girls, then went inside to use the bathroom. While she was washing her hands that older boy step cousin stepped into the bathroom. She got anxiety as it got a little scary for her because she didn't feel safe. He apologized for barging in, BUT, he didn't leave. In fact, he stepped closer to her, too close, and she had to put her hands up and push against his chest, trying to stop him from coming closer, but he just kept pushing into her. She was scared, and told him "No, I don't want to." But he pushed her hands away, told her to relax, that it was okay, that she wouldn't get in trouble. He closed the door then, and kissed her again, and made her do things with him that she really didn't want to do. But she couldn't stop him, was too scared at that moment. This boy took real advantage of her. This just because one of those true stories she heard about but never wanted to be a part of. Four years have passed and now Joslynn is thirteen years old. Her mother and stepfather have separated, and so, thankfully, she never has to see those step cousins or that awful boy again. Even though she was happy that those terrible things were behind her, the guilt and shame and dark feelings were all still there - like somehow the whole thing was her fault and that she would have to be alone with those feelings her whole life. It was always on her mind though, and so hard to keep secret and buried inside, and so, a few months ago when she was out to lunch with her mother, she decided to tell her mother, to share the secret once and for all. And, even though she was terrified and ashamed and embarrassed, she told her Mom everything that had happened. And her mom supported her in a big way, loving her no matter what. The Me Too Movement and Times Up Movement all address the issues brought forth in this story. - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Was Jealous Of My Twin Sister

Comment, like, share this story. Growing up, Gray loved being a twin. Her twin sister Hope was her best friend. They were always together, always, and had each other's backs - they truly had each other. Their parents didn't even worry the way other parents did because the twins kept each other out of trouble, kept each other playing by the rules. They didn't fight, didn't get jealous or competitive. They were twins AND best friends. They had everything in common, dressed the same way, liked the same things, had the same room, same school, same classes and even shared the same friends. Everything they did, they did as twins, together. And everyone around them was always so interested to know what it was like to be a twin, even said they wished they had a twin and looked at Gray and Hope as if they were the luckiest sisters alive. And for a while, Gray thought that too. But as they got older Gray started to realize that being a twin wasn't going to continue the way it had when they were younger, that it might not be as fun as she had thought it would be because as they got older, they got different, they went on different paths - started to have their own personalities and started liking and choosing different things for their lives. Hope became one of the "popular" girls. She started wearing the latest and coolest teen fashion trends, had tons of friends, even joined the theater club. Hope got super involved with the school and helping with all the causes and she started going out every night, partying with her friends and dancing. But Gray didn't become one of the "popular" girls, at least not right away, and instead, she just felt alone. And after awhile, she didn't just feel alone, but she started to feel like she was living in her sister's shadow, maybe started feeling a little bit jealous too. She was just a student in her school that everyone compared to her sister. Jealousy is a powerful thing. Gray felt this pressure, that twins were expected to like and do and be the same things. If Hope got a car, Gray felt like she had to get a car, but hers didn't seem quite as nice as her sister's. If she came home with straight A's on her report card everyone seemed to expect that Gray would get the same grades. She started to feel really bad about herself, felt like her parents were always bragging about her sister and never having anything to say about her. She felt so awful, and so much pressure to be like her twin sister, that she fell into a real depression, felt isolated and anxious. And then, she grew jealous, really jealous of her twin sister. She envied her. And that envy hurt her self-esteem. Now the person who she had felt was always just by her side, now she felt like Hope was above her. So, Gray started trying to be more like her sister, trying to wear fashionable clothes and hang out with all the other popular kids - but it didn't work - it just wasn't who Gray was. There were so much resentment and depression. And so finally, after so many years, Gray looked in the mirror and realized she was her own person, and she was fine with that. Fine with the differences between her and her twin - happy to be herself. And now, even though they are in very different places in their lives, and Gray is still working on herself and her self-esteem and recovering from her fight against depression, and Hope is off at college, Gray knows they both still love each other. She had the realization that she is who she is and loves herself. She knows that no matter what, she will always have someone to talk to, because no matter what, she will always be her twin sister. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! Bad Boyfriend

Comment, like, share this story. WATCH MORE: https://goo.gl/9TwG5m 9th grade - Freshman year in high school - is a time for a ton of firsts, independence, free-thinking, soon to be driving, and, sometimes, flirting, dating, and maybe, first love! This is a dating story that takes quite a journey. Early in the year Gabby met a boy at a carnival, and, even though at first she didn't think of him in any romantic "boyfriend" way - she didn't even think he was all that cute at the time - they started hanging out, a lot. And, they became best friends. Eventually, after really hitting it off they started to really like each other, and then, just like that, they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Gabby had never had a boyfriend, and for the first few months it was amazing - their honeymoon phase - and they were always together and she really felt like she was in love with him. But, slowly, she started to see a different side of him, and she started to realized that he wouldn't let her do anything. He kept her from going out with her friends, wouldn't let her text someone that she knew and had been friends with for a really long time. He disrespected her, controlled her and degraded her. He was possessive. paranoid, and controlling. Yeah, this is a bad relationship story. Then he started telling her nasty and mean things, making her feel like she was bad, and worthless, and not good enough. He said mean things to her to make her feel small every single day, he was condescending and hurtful and she dealt with it day after day and year after year. Her self esteem went down and it caused her to be depressed and really sad. He had a bad temper and did not want her doing anything away from him. He did not trust her or anyone else. She deserved more, she deserved better. This was after all her first love, even if he was a bad boyfriend, a really, really bad boyfriend. And, even though she felt awful, she really didn't know what to expect, or what a normal love relationship was supposed to be like, she had never been in one. That bad boyfriend caused Gabby a ton of pain, sent her into a depression and made her feel anxious all the time. Things just kept getting worse and worse, and she just kept staying with him, kept dating him. He was a real jerk. To her it was evil, but nobody else could see what he was doing to her, he didn't hurt her physically, but emotionally he really did hurt her, and it did real damage, hurt just as much and lasted longer than if it was physical. he really hurt her; her mind, her self worth and self esteem. Even now all the awful things he said to her are still in her head, but at least now she can ask herself "who was he anyway? why did he have such power of me? He was just an awful person, and the things he said to me weren't true." Finally, thankfully, Gabby couldn't take it anymore, she built up her courage and stood up for herself and broke up with him! She broke up with her boyfriend - The Jerk! And it took her a long time to get over that bad boyfriend, and all the things he did and said to her, but finally, she met an amazing, sweet, and wonderful guy who loves her for who she is and would never say things just to hurt her and make her small. Her new boyfriend is AMAZING! He treats her the way she deserves to be treated, with respect and love. It turns out that this is actually a fantastic dating story with a genuine happy ending. Will they live happily ever after? Who knows but what we do know is that Gabby is happy! What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Didn't Know My Parents Were Getting A Divorce

When Mackenzie was younger her dad was in the military and so their family moved around, a lot and often. But, since it was just Mackenzie and her Mom and Dad, the moving made them closer and they were like three peas in a pod - always together! After years of service and all that moving from house to house and military base to military base, her Dad finally decided it was time to retire - Florida, where they had friends and family - and so they packed for what they thought was the last time and headed south. Mackenzie had never been settled anywhere really, and they had never been stationed anywhere where any other family lived, and so, moving to Florida was so exciting with a lot of firsts for her. After a couple of months they found the right house, moved in, and started working on it together, painting and remodeling and making it their own. She went to school, met some students, teachers and made a few new friends. Classes seemed okay, other kids seemed okay, jyst like every other time they moved. All was well, until, one night, Mackenzie's dad was acting very strange, nervous which was not like him, and then, just all of a sudden and kind of out of nowhere, her parents told her that they were getting a divorce. Mackenzie was shocked, totally unprepared for the divorce announcement, and honestly thought they were joking. It seemed so unreal, and so sudden. Mackenzie, of course, had known other families who had gone through a divorce, or a separation, but she never imagined that her family would go through it. Her parents had been together forever - they were high school sweethearts, married for twenty-one years. Her dad left the next morning and Mackenzie and her Mom, now a single mom, decided at that exact moment that they would return to Missouri and settle there. This was where they both had their best friends and some real support, and neither of them wanted to stay in Florida with the memory of all that went wrong. Not long after settling in Missouri, Mackenzie and her Mom found out that her dad had met another woman, and that they were together. That was really difficult for Mackenzie and her Mom, a lot of stress, anger, depression and anxiety, and they ended up going to counseling together, which really helped them manage through their emotions. At first, Mackenzie was so upset she couldn't even bring her self to go to school. She had always been so close to her father, and she had always looked up to him as an amazing dad, the best. But, during that time, adjusting, she was in such a hard place with very mixed feelings about the divorce and her father. Doing home school online for awhile allowed her to spend more time with her Mother, and that was good for both of them. But Mackenzie was still very angry with her Dad, and every time they spoke on the phone they would argue and fight. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! My Embarrassing Period Story - NO PADS!

WATCH MORE: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTv86vY0AuCuVZFrilE3WncQhw1jZTxIW Ylezelle and her classmates were on a trip away from home and school to give a choir concert, fun, normal, easy - BUT - it just so happened that Ylezelle was on her period and already at warm ups with all the other kids AND she was down to her last pad. Bad planning, and they had been staying at a hotel where she hadn't had a chance to buy any new pads! Also, as if all of that weren't stressful enough - it was one of her "heavy" days, very heavy! So, while they're practicing and waiting for the performance, Ylezelle is sitting on the warehouse gym floor with her friends, just laughing and telling jokes and hanging out. Suddenly, she feels something flowing, something wet, and she was like "oh my god oh my god did this just happen?" She scooted back a little bit, trying to be casual and hide what she was doing and check to see what was going on, and of course, there on the floor where she had been sitting - a red spot! Blood! She was so embarrassed and kind of wiped the smear off the floor with her hand, said she had to go the bathroom, and kind of slinked along the wall, trying to be slick about it, pulling her shirt down over her pants, and when she was finally out of sight of her friends she RAN to the bathroom. There were kids everywhere, and of course, there was a long line for the bathroom. This was to be one of those embarrassing moments she never forget or maybe even ever get out of. When it was her turn, she ran in, got into a stall, and took a look. It looked like she murdered someone - period blood was everywhere! She was wearing a black shirt, which hid the stain, but her pants were bright yellow so it was clear that something had happened. She had bled through her pants. She went from fun mode to straight up survival mode. She grabbed as much toilet paper as she could and put it down the front of her pants, put it everywhere - she felt like she was wearing a diaper. She pulled her shirt down as much as she could, stretching it as far as it could go to cover her stained pants - and she was so embarrassed. She had to be there, like that, for almost 4 more hours! He's have to hide in there. She called her Mom, asked her to bring some emergency pads, but the family was out and couldn't come until it was time to pick her up at the end of the day. So she hid the best she could. As awkward and embarrassed as is was, she had to p[lay it cool until her parents came. When her parents finally came to get her all Ylezelle cared about was getting a fresh pad. She lifted her shirt to show her family what had happened and they all cracked up! Her little sister pointed and laughed "you had an accident! HA HA HA!" Embarrassing? Yes? But, saved by the pads at the last possible moment and a story to remember for Ylezelle! She survived a really embarrassing period story. And you know what? She's just fine. Most young woman have moments like these and whats real is that they are not alone. Just ask Ylezelle! While it really seemed like a big deal back then, and it was, after a while and after hearing other stories, its' just an embarrassing and even funny story now. Maybe this will become one of those funny videos after all~! "No Pads! My Embarrassing Period Survival Story" What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Rescued Abandoned Newborn Kittens

Visit PetSmart who helped make this video possible: http://bit.ly/Visit-PetSmart Jenna and her Mom live in an apartment complex, on the second floor with their two cats - Bella and Kitty. Their apartment has a little terrace attached to it, and she and her Mom, and the two cats love to hang out and watch all the activity going on in the courtyard, and sometimes in the other apartments across the way. Because of that, and the fact that their two cats are always perched on the terrace - they've had them since they were kittens - everyone knew they had pets. They didn't rescue or adopt Bella and Kitty and brought them home after they had already been cared for by their Mother. One night, Jenna and her Mom are hanging out and watching tv when all of a sudden there's a knock at the door. It's a little kid from the apartment complex, and he says that since they all know that they are cat people, they thought maybe Jenna and her Mom could help. The kids had been out playing in the courtyard and they heard little kittens crying, and mewing and meowing from somewhere in the bushes. Their parents weren't home, and they wanted help. They throw on their flip-flops, grab a couple of flashlights, and run out the door. They follow the little boy, and then the sounds of the crying kittens to the back of the apartment, and sure enough, deep in the bushes, actually, thorn bushes, seven tiny kittens all huddled together. And they don't look good - they look sick and frail, and their eyes are still closed. They look almost dead. Jenna jumps right into the thorn bush and passes the kittens out to her Mom one by one, then, they hurry back to the apartment with them to warm them up in blankets, feed them, and then clean them up a bit. Jenna and her Mom were so scared, worried that the kittens wouldn't live, so tiny and beaten up, eyes still closed up and unable to take care of themselves. After a long night, they took them to the vet. The doctor said that there was NOT a very good chance that they would survive. This upset them so much, Jenna burst into tears. When the vet saw how much they already cared about these kittens he told them that they could admit them to the animal hospital for care, but that it would be very, very expensive. Jenna and her Mom didn't have very much money, so they asked what else could be done. The doctor said yes, that Jenna and her Mom could take them home and nurse them back to health by themselves - on their own. At first, all they could think about was all that responsibility, and the time and commitment it would take to truly rescue and save the kittens. But, inside, they both knew that they couldn't just give up. So, after the doctor told them what to do, they went to Petsmart and got all of the supplies they would need to nurse the kitten back to health - eye medicine, a replacement for their Mother's milk and cozy beds. For three months Jenna and her Mom cared for the kittens, and slowly but surely their sight all returned and they were strong and healthy! They found good homes for all the kittens and loved that they were able to rescue these little babies, nurse them back to health, gave them shelter and place them with loving owners. Cat rescue, nursing back to health and cat adoption are powerful and important things. Not only that, but Jenna loved it so much she wants to work with animals, maybe even nursing and caring for kittens when she gets older. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Lost My Brother

Just like a lot of brothers and sisters, Elyse and her brother didn't always get along. But, also like most brothers and sisters, they loved each other and they both knew that, and they were pretty close. But, over time, as they got older, her brother developed severe depression - and there wasn't much Elyse could do, though it was hard, and sad for her and her whole family. He wasn't always depressed, but when he was it was really terrible. One day Elyse went on a class trip - a full weekend out and lots of fun. On their first night away they were all out for dinner together at a restaurant, when their teacher got a phone call. Elyse watched as she answered the phone and then suddenly a look of anguish and terror came over her. The teacher pulled Elyse aside and, with tears in her eyes, she told her that her brother had just been found, in the bathroom, no longer alive. Elyse left the trip early and went home. The police were there, and though she wanted to see her brother one last time, to say goodbye - even though he was already gone - her parents wouldn't let her, they didn't want her to see, or remember him that way. The funeral was so awful and painful and depressing. Everyone was still in shock, crying. They opened his casket so people could see, and say goodbye, but Elyse couldn't bring herself to go over to it - it was too overwhelming and she broke down, right then and there at his funeral. She couldn't take it - just wanted to leave, to be home, to close herself in and away from it all. She didn't stay to see him being buried. She couldn't. Elyse was so sad, and scared, and lonely-feeling. She stayed in her room for days, unable to stop crying, and her Mom would bring her food and check on her, but she wasn't hungry, couldn't eat. She lost almost 30 lbs, was sleepless and unhealthy - but eventually she began to venture out of her room, and, allowed herself to know, and to feel, and maybe to accept that her brother was gone, that she had lost him forever. Everyone had their own way of coping with the pain. Her parents essentially boarded up his room and they never went in there. After nearly three months Elyse finally got her strength up to go back to school, and it was hard when she did. She felt everyone staring at her, whispering to each other, like they couldn't believe she was back at school and trying to act normal. She started talking to a therapist, which slowly helped, and her Mom did everything she could to help Elyse and her sister get through the pain. One day Elyse came home from school and saw her mom talking to a carpenter. They were making plans to put a permanent wall over her brother's door, to block it off forever. Elyse didn't want that to happen, and she tried to convince her parents that it wasn't right, but they were set on it - they were going to do it anyway. Before they put up the wall, Elyse snuck into his room one last time, and she took everything out of the room that she wanted to save to remember him by. The main thing she took though was his hockey trophy - he had loved playing hockey and had always been so proud of their championship trophy. But the trophy taunted her, reminded her that her brother was lost and gone - but that was okay - she didn't ever want to forget about him. She visits the cemetery a lot, and sits by his gravestone and talks to him. She misses him so much, all the time, and every day, still, she wonders to herself "what could I have done?" - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! And of course, she was lonely, and wanted to be popular, to fit in, have friends, but it just never worked out that way. Until one day in school, in her class, another student, one of the most popular girls in school, asked if she wanted to work on a project with her, a presentation on road safety that they would present together in front of the whole school. Jennifer was so excited, not only would she be working with someone and not all alone, but, it was with the most popular girl in school! They got to work right away, but, right away this girl made excuses and asked Jennifer to do the work, all of it. That hardly bothered her, they would still be presenting together and that was what mattered! On the day of the assembly Jennifer got everything ready up on stage, hooked up her computer and set up the presentation and that's when it happened - this mean girl told her she had been replaced! She bumped Jennifer off the stage and gave the presentation by herself. Jennifer was ashamed, embarrassed, heartbroken and so mad. She said to herself, "That mean girl stole my work!" The presentation Jennifer worked on was so good though that it was chosen to be presented at all the schools all around them - a huge honor. And that's when KARMA stepped in to get even! Jennifer had the only copy of the presentation, on her computer, and what do you think she did? Do you think she gave her the computer to use at the other schools? No way! And guess what happened, when the truth came out, the mean girl made a fool of herself, she lost it in from of everyone. Not only that, Jennifer was in the limelight, and people noticed her and wanted to be with her. Karma brought justice! Instant Karma, Instant Justice! The bully who tricked her got what she deserved. My Friends Told My Crush I Liked Him

Comment, like, share this story. It was 6th grade and time for the Valentines Day dance. Izzy and a group of her friends decided they would all go to the dance together. In this group were three of Izzy's girlfriends and two of her guy friends. No one was dating - it was just a group of friends going to the dance together. They were having fun at the dance - dancing, eating, watching movies - no drama. But when the boys go off to the snack table, and leave Izzy with her three girl friends, things start to get a little uncomfortable. The girls ask Izzy who she had a crush on. Izzy , as it turns out, was crushing on one of the guy friends in her group - Jack - she almost even asked him to the dance but chickened out at the last minute. She even had a note, a love note, she wrote to ask him to the dance but she never gave it to him. This was her little secret that she wanted to keep all to herself. But the girls kept pushing and pushing and pushing until Izzy finally gave in and revealed to them that she had a big crush on Jack. He'd be a great boyfriend and she was crazy about him. One of Izzy's friend's, Yvonna, with a look of mischief in her eyes, immediately ran off towards Jack. Izzy was totally freaked out because she knew what Yvonna is going to do - tell Jack that Izzy had a crush on him. There was no way that Izzy was going to let that happen so she ran over to her as fast as she could and knocked Yvonna to the ground before she could tell Jack that Izzy liked him. Well she made it in time and dragged Yvonna back, and screamed at her to never do anything like that again. Well, Yvonna was too mischievous to listen to that demand. She slipped away once again and this time - told Jack Izzy had a crush on him...a Valentines Day Crush and she wanted him to be her valentine. Izzy, as you can imagine was super mad. Her friends denied it, saying that they told Jack it was just a prank. Izzy didn't know what to believe - did Jack think she liked him or did he believe it was just a prank? She never found out but she did get to have a slow dance, a Valentines Day dance with Jack, so maybe the fact that Yvonna shared her little secret wasn't such a bad thing after all. Valentine's Day turned out a little better than Izzy expected or hoped. We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! I Talked Behind My Best Friend's Back And Betrayed Her

Comment, like, share this story. WATCH MORE: https://goo.gl/9TwG5m When Shannon first got to her new school in third grade, she was on her own, lonely, and the other kids seemed to think she was weird - until, finally, she met a great group of girls - five of them - and they all became the best of friends. There was one girl in that group of third graders that stood out from the rest though - Celine - Shannon's BFF., her best friend. She was the gem of the group: creative, kind, smart - BUT - most of all, she was really into pink frilly things, and ponies and that kind of defined her. That style and those frilly, pretty things she loved never got old for Celine. But as they got older, in the fifth grade and going through puberty, and Celine had still not changed her style, still loved frilly dresses and all the rest, those other girls started to judge her, make fun of her, comment about her, talk about her. Those other girls - still Shannon's great friends - still really surprised her by how much they judged Celine, and how mean they were about it. They became mean girls. It seemed like they hated Celine because of her style and how she dressed, and maybe her bubbly sweet personality as well.... And Shannon, even though she felt it wasn't right, started to join in too - under peer pressure, but still, when she was with the other students, she would agree with the mean things they were saying. She'd go along with the the mean girls, the comments, the judgements, the insults, the rumors, the ridicule, the teasing, the gossip, the bullying. Even though is was awkward and made her feel bad and sad because deep inside she knew it was wrong, she still went along with it. How could she hate anyone, especially her best friend because of how she dressed? It got worse when Shannon made stuff up, lied, telling the girls that she really didn't like Celine anymore and that she followed her everywhere. But the truth was, Shannon really loved Celine, really and truly her best friend, and she realized, that they followed each other everywhere, both of them. But still, when she was with those other girls she lied to make it seem that she didn't like Celine, that she was a bad person and annoying and awkward to be around - like Celine was stalking her. Sometimes, when Shannon was out with Celine and she caught the other girls giving her dirty looks, she would try to ditch Celine, and incredibly, Celine never found out about any of it, but she was heartbroken that Shannon would disappear on her, and the she no longer wanted to hang out as much. Shannon was hurting her, she knew it. She had somehow become a liar and a mean girl - and to her best friend of all people. Was it worth it just to be popular or to fit in? How could she have don this to her best friend? She wonders if Celine would forgive her if she knew the truth. Would she be forgiven or would she be hated for the rest of her life for what she was doing? All this drama went on for a long time, until finally, at the end of sixth grade, Shannon realized how wrong she had been. She realized how much she missed her best friend, and how silly and weak it was of her to act the way she had and to spread rumors about her BFF. And how bad it was that she betrayed her best friend in the world. Shannon stopped the rumors, stopped the betrayal, ignored those other girls' gossip and got back to being best friends with Celine! She loved Celine and her love for her continues to grow every day. Real friendship, after all, is about love and loyalty! What's your story? We want to hear it! It's Storytime. I Stood Up to Racist Mean Girls

Comment, like, share this story. WATCH MORE: https://goo.gl/9TwG5m Back in 5th and 6th Grade, at Mareeha's school, everyone was just friends with everyone. There were students and kids of every color, ethnicity, from every culture, and all religions, and nobody cared - they all played together and they were all friends. Mareeha had a best friend named Caitlyn - a real best friend forever, and they did everything together. And she also had other friends, best friends too, but maybe just not quite as close as she and Caitlyn were - the two of them had something special. But, when they moved up into higher grades and got older, things began to change. It was like the kids turned meaner, and starting forming cliques, being exclusive and starting to leave people out. Even Mareeha's wider group of friends started acting differently, just meaner and looking down at other kids, not the way they all used to be at all, and it was upsetting. It made Mareeha sad. One day Mareeha and Caitlyn were playing at the park, and one of Mareeha's "other" friends came over to her and told her that she shouldn't play with Caitlyn anymore because she was black. She never considered her her black friend or her African American friends, just her friend, her best friend. This totally confused Mareeha because after all, she herself was brown skinned, but she was scared of these girls who used to be her good friends. There were a bunch of them, and they were kind of mean, and on the other side there was just Mareeha and Caitlyn. Mareeha felt all that peer pressure, and back then at least, well, she didn't have the guts to stand up to them, she just went with the crowd - that seemed like the least scary thing to do. So she did it. She went up to Caitlyn and said "I don't want to be your friend anymore because you're black". She chose popularity vs true friendship. Later, the reality of what she said hit her hard. She was a bigot who made a racist statement to her best friend. She felt so guilty and lonely and bad, because really, Caitlyn was her best friend and she just succumbed to peer pressure in the worst way. After a few days it got to be too much for her, and she went to Caitlyn's house and rang the bell and apologized. She admitted that she was just trying to fit in with the other girls, and it was wrong, and she felt awful about it. Caitlyn accepted Mareeha's apologies - they were best friends again. Later, those other friends, the racist mean girls, came up to her and asked "why are you friends with that black girl Caitlyn again?" and finally, Mareeha had her chance to stand up to them. She told them "no, Caitlyn is my best friend and I don't care what you say!" And that's when the racist mean girls turned on her. Mareeha started getting ganged up on too, bullied, made fun of for being "the brown girl with the black girl." But still, she didn't care. She knew that all that mattered was that in the end she did the right thing, and in the end, had her best friend who was a good person and a perfect friend! It became mean girls versus best friends. Discrimination is a terrible thing but a friendship this strong is a true gift. Their experience together make their friendship stronger. Everyone's got a story. WATCH MORE: https://goo.gl/9TwG5m Zarina and her best friend Alicia were just hanging out on a Summer day, just before school started. Typical teenage girls, they were busy on snapchat. Zarina was particularly interested in this one boy - a hockey player - and she had a huge crush on him. Of all the boys in her school, he was her favorite, her school crush. She thought he was so sweet, and cute - first love. And, to make things more complicated, they were kind of friends, helping each other with homework sometimes and sitting together at lunch. More than anything, she wanted them to be boyfriend and girlfriend, a couple. Alicia leaned over and saw his snapchat on Zarina's phone and came up with the bright idea of confessing her crush to him. At first Zarina said "no way," she was scared of getting rejected, scared that he would tell her that they were just friends and she would die of embarrassment. A confession could be an epic fail. But Alicia was very convincing - and, finally, convinced Zarina to do it! Zarina was so nervous that Alicia finally grabbed the phone and started texting for her. She wrote a long text "I've liked you for a really long time now, and hopefully we can get together..." a real confession of love! At the end she wrote, "But it's okay if you don't like me," and Zarina jumped out to grab the phone - "WAIT! Before you send it I want to read it" - but it was too late. Alicia had sent the message. Zarina freaked out! She was hyperventilating - all of her massive second thoughts were too late! She spent the next two hours panicking - staring at the phone - waiting for a reply, anything. Suddenly, her phone chirped that there was a response! Zarina snatched up the phone but couldn't bring herself to read what he had written. She wanted to know, but she also didn't want to know - not if it was terrible news, not if confessing her love to her crush made things awkward and with the whole "let's just be friends" thing - she couldn't handle that! So, Alicia grabbed the phone and told Zarina that she would read it first and let her know if it was good or not good. That sounded like a plan. Alicia opened the snap and Zarina hid in a bush, too nervous to know what to do, but also excited. After a minute Alicia looked up with a sad face - NOT GOOD - and all she said was "Girl, I'm really sorry." Fail! At first Zarina thought she was joking, which would be in character for Alicia, and so Zarina said "Okay, c'mon. What does it say." And so Alicia read it out loud: he didn't like her the same way - DID NOT - and then he said it, the friend thing - Zarina was heart broken. She wanted to undo the whole thing so badly - wished she hadn't done it. She had to answer him, so she said it was no problem, but inside she was a mess, crying. She was so embarrassed. In fact it was one of the most embarrassing moments of her life, an embarrassing fail. And lets face it, embarrassing fails are not something we will ever forget. And this embarrassing story was no exception. After school started they weren't awkward together, and they still talk and hang out sometimes, but, she still wishes that he had returned the crush, and honestly, she still has a major crush on him! I Wish I Never Moved Away

By Dejah | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Dejah was born and raised in Aurora Colorado. She took her first steps there, spoke her first words there and made her first friend there. It was where all of her most important firsts happened. Basically, everyone and everything that was closest to Dejah's heart was in Colorado. One day she was hanging out in her room, on her cellphone, when she heard her Grandma and her Mom talking downstairs in the kitchen and she heard her mom say that she got a promotion and that they would be moving from Colorado to Illinois. But it kind of went in one ear and out the other. Dejah's Mom is always playing jokes on them and teasing them so she just didn't believe it - it seemed so far out. But, two weeks later her parents, mother and father, pulled Dejah and her younger brothers together and told them, as if it was no big deal, as if it was actually a good thing - We're Moving to Chicago!!!! And, even though he smiled and hugged her Mom and congratulated her - she wasn't happy about it, not at all. The plan was that her parents would move to Chicago first and set up the new house and get settled while Dejah and her brothers stayed with their grandparents and packed everything up. But Dejah was so upset about the move, not wanting to, and pretty tough and stubborn, and while her brothers and parents and grandparents all worked to pack their stuff up, she refused - just lay on her bed pouting and angry. Packing her room was something she wasn't going to do. Her Grandma and Dad had to pack all of her things up while she just laid there - unhappy. Dejah and her brothers waved goodbye to their parents and their loaded car and they set off - two months of the kids with the grandparents and November set as the moved date for the kids. And even though Dejah felt like she would have enough time to get used to the idea of leaving, and be able to spend tons of time with her friends and extended family, November came really quickly and before she knew it it was time to go meet her parents in Chicago and start her new life. After a lot of tears were shed, and a lot of hugs and goodbyes, Dejah and her brothers boarded a plane to Illinois and off they went. Of course she was happy to see and be with her parents after so much time, but as more time passed and the more time she spent away from Colorado the more sad and unhappy she became. After a while she started feeling really depressed and had a really short and bad temper - the smallest things would set her off. Of course, her parents noticed that she was having a harder and harder time and they found someone Dejah could talk to, a therapist who could help her find ways to accept the moved and move on. The therapist helped with her grief, depression and sadness, and explained that she was literally grieving Colorado, and their family dog who had become sick and died before they left - that was hard too. Now Dejah has good friends at her new school in Illinois, and they have all been really nice and welcoming and that has helped her adjust to being in the new place - she's caught herself genuinely laughing and smiling, which she hadn't done for quite some time. So, today, while she's doing and feeling so so much better, she has to admit that she is not 100% happy and content, maybe even wish she never moved away because if she never moved away, she might be completely happy. She's super family oriented and no matter what, most of her family and lifelong friends are in Colorado and looking through all the social media showing them all together, doing the things they used to do with her, well, that doesn't help - it makes her feel sad for sure. All that being said, she is finding new things and people and opportunities in Chicago that weren't in Aurora, and she is starting to appreciate those things more and more. Perhaps things aren't absolutely perfect for Dejah - yet - but she is open and excited for whatever comes next! - - - We love this true story. What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! Don't Judge Me Because I'm A Goth

03:15
By Kaori | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Kaori is a Goth, and it hasn't been easy. In fact - for her - being a Goth girl has been pretty hard. She gets remarks and whispers and all sorts of reactions every single day. And, people make fun of her - they call her Wednesday Addams, or Morticia, or remind her, every day, that Halloween is over. Her Goth makeup and Goth style is her choice. And because of her style, she is misunderstood and discriminated against. Essentially, people judge her all the time, just because she is a Goth, gothic and make a lot of (false) assumptions about who she is and what she believes based on what she chooses to wear. They judge her as a person solely because of her fashion choices, and this makes her mad, and unhappy, and, as she says, hard to be a Goth. And sometimes it goes from being just a little bit hard and awkward and annoying to being really bad and confrontational and just plain mean. Last Winter, Kaori was walking to Walgreens and this little boy just stood there outside the door staring at her with his eyes (and mouth) wide open - gawking - so, she decided to just give him a smile and wave. When she did that, the kid freaked out, yanked at his Mom's coat, and yelled "MOMMY MOMMY THAT GIRL LOOKS DEAD!" At first his Mom was confused, but then when she turned around and saw Kaori she let out this giant dramatic gasp and then covered her child's eyes with her hands. The Mom yelled "HONEY, DON'T LOOK! SHE'LL CURSE YOU" She glared at Kaori, pointed at her, and called her a witch. Kaori - shocked at the judgment and reaction - just ignored them, and walked into the store. But, unfortunately, when she was done shopping and came back out, the woman and her kid were still standing there, waiting for her. As Kaori passed, the woman just kept chanting "witch, witch, witch" under her breath, when suddenly, Karoi noticed that the woman was wearing a necklace with the symbol from the show Charmed - a Wiccan symbol! Kaori chuckled - then told her "You're calling me a witch when you're the one wearing a Wiccan symbol around your neck." Another time, even worse really, was when she was checking out of a store, an older guy just stood there staring at her with a weird look in his eyes - creepy - and he wouldn't stop. She tried to just ignore it, got her stuff and her change and left. The guy followed her out into the parking lot, grabbed her by the shoulder and spun her around. He grabbed his bible and his cross and held them in her face. He accused her of being a devil worshipper! He ranted and raved that she was surrounding herself with darkness like she was going to be forever cursed in the pit of hell. This was the worst, and she just kind of snapped. She yelled at him that it's people just like him that depict Goths as satanic and evil and that it's totally wrong. "IT'S A FASHION CHOICE NOT A RELIGIOUS THING!" she told him. And then she told him that she grew up and was raised in a Christian house, went to Church, and grew up behind two Churches. And then she just walked away and left him there. The look on his face said it all - he was being ignorant and judgemental. In the end, she has to brush it all off and be herself. So what, she's Goth - it's her decision. It's how she feels and it's how she wants to look - really, it's just her, through and through, and she wouldn't want to be anyone else. Whether she is Goth, Emo, Kawaii, Punk, Pastel, pale, vampire or whatever, she is a person first. She is Kaori, not weird, but creative and sef expressive. "Being judged because of the way I look," will never lead to getting to know the incredible and creative person she is. "I'm a Goth and I proud of who I am" We think she's awesome and beautiful, and we love her style! - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! People Made Fun Of My Body In A Bikini

03:01
By Rebecca | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Rebecca has never been okay with her body. She was super skinny, then she added some weight, and then did a diet andhad weight loss, and that left stretch marks - just some extra skin here and there, but it made her really self-conscious and insecure about her weight, and her body, and the clothes and bathing suits she chose to wear. She wore jeans almost all the time, and if she had to wear shorts they were always longer, and with bathing suits - never in a bikini. One day Rebecca was in the car with a bunch of her friends just riding around, and they decided they would head to the beach to spend the day. She told them she didn't have her swimsuit or a towel or anything that she needed to go to the beach, but her friends were like "don't worry so much, we'll buy everything we need once we're there." The group sent Rebecca and her friend Trina to the grocery store to buy drinks and food for a beach picnic, and they said they would get everything else. When Trina and Rebecca got back from food shopping all of their friends were already lying out in the sun getting tan and playing in the waves. They had bought bathing suits - bikinis - for Trina and Rebecca and tossed them over to them. It may have been fine for Trina, but it WAS NOT what Rebecca wanted. It was a super teeny tiny little string bikini. She was already so insecure about her body and she didn't need kids making fun of her body in a bikini. She tried to come up with something, anything to get her out of having to put that bathing suit on, so she said she was having her period, but that didn't work because someone just grabbed tampons for her. There was no easy way out. She went into the changing room, put the suit on, and stood looking at her body and her stretch marks and thinking to herself, 'my god, what am i going to do?" She grabbed a big towel and wrapped it around her whole body, shoulders to toes. When she came out Trina saw her all covered up and said: "Hey, don't worry about it, just take off your towel and swim." So, she got her courage up and dropped her towel, and there was like this total silence on the beach - everyone did a double-take and just stood there staring at her. Except for this one girl from her school named Peaches - a real B----! -- who walked right up to her and called her disgusting and said she couldn't go in the water looking like that. Trina heard that, walked right over to Peaches and pushed her down into the sand (now that's a good friend!). Peaches got sand in her eyes and started screaming and crying and so all the boys came over to see what was going. Even with Peaches lying in the sand crying, and Trina standing over her, still, they just stood there and stared at Rebecca and her stretch marks in her tiny little bathing suit. Shame and body shame her which is just totally wrong. Rebecca was so embarrassed she burst into tears and ran back to the changing room and immediately put her clothes back on. When she came out her best friend was there waiting for her. She offered to take Rebecca straight home and on the way she called her Mom. Her Mom helped her, told her not to worry about what other people think and to just do and be and wear what makes her comfortable - you don't have to be perfect for anybody, just happy with yourself. Now Rebecca feels comfortable with herself, with her stretch marks and her body, and she wears what she likes and not what other people think she should wear. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! My Dad Was Never There For Me

Tina never knew what it was like to have a truly normal family. Ever since she was young, for as long as she can remember, she had a dad who was never there for her. She has a wonderful and amazing mother, who has always been there to comfort and support and love her, but she simply can't say the same for her father. Her dad drank too much, and it was a real problem that has caused a lot of pain and done a lot of damage. Having a dad with that kind of problem made it so that she could never act or feel normal, or do the typical things that kids do - like having friends over, because she was always nervous that her father would embarrass her, or being out and doing things that a lot of her friends got to do with their dads. She was often jealous of her friends because they had dads who were there for them, who were a part of their lives, and her dad was rarely a part of hers. He was hardly ever home, and when he was home he wasn't in his right state of mind. And even when he was in a "good" state of mind, he shut Tina, and her sister and mother out of his life. He would jus stay in his room watching tv or playing video games almost all of the time that he spent at home. It got to the point where she felt like she had been replaced by his gaming computer. This really hurt her and gave her low self-esteem because it made her feel so unimportant. The way her dad acted and the way he was toward her, broke her down. Most days she was afraid and unhappy to come home because she knew she was just returning to a torn and broken family. One night she was sitting at the kitchen table doing her homework while her Mom cooked dinner, and they suddenly heard her Dad teasing her little sister upstairs. His words were slurred and he was yelling. But then a surprising thing happened, her little sister obviously couldn't take it anymore and she screamed at him to stop, screamed that she knew he had been drinking. Tina and her Mom were in absolute shock that her little sister had stood up to him. No one had ever done that before. That's when her Dad really blew up - he yelled back at her little sister and accused their Mom of telling lies and turning them against him. He stomped downstairs and yelled nasty things at her Mom, then took a glass bowl and smashed it on the floor - looked coldly and angrily at Clementine - and stormed up to his room. After that they all just stayed out of his way and he avoided them, for the most part. But, a few years later he was taken to the police station. He had never physically hurt Tina or her sister but he had been so mean for so long, and said so many awful and damaging things, that by the time he was arrested she actually felt a huge sense of relief watching him being driven away by the police. After he got out and had spent a month living with his own father (Tina's Grandfather, Grandpa) he came back home, and promised he was better and would be a good dad again. But that didn't last very long, and soon enough he was at it again. This time though Tina felt stronger and she began to stand up to him when he was at his worst. She told him "This isn't okay and I would really appreciate it if you would try to quit!" But he didn't listen, and those few months after he came home were some of the hardest times of her life. Then one day, her Mom had finally had enough and she kicked him out, right then and there, and then filed for a divorce. Tina thought to herself, my Dad was never there for me. Mom and Dad divorced, and her Mother did all the parenting, and Tina has been slowly recovering, and, though it has taken months and months, now she knows and truly feels how important she really is, and that she matters, to her Mother, and her sister, and her friends. Now she could have a better life. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! The False Alarm - Hawaiian Missile Panic

Visit Chloe's YouTube Channel - Chloe Dias https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCec87MOkBIFXI9lAkIaQMBA It was January 23rd, 2018 on the beautiful islands of Hawaii. Chloe was fast asleep when she was woken up by her Mother who was running through the house and telling everyone to hurry up, quick get out of bed, and pack their bags. Chloe was still groggy and half asleep, so she got up slow, stumbled into the bathroom, then headed to her sister's room to find out what all the commotion was about and what was going on. But, her sister was frantically trying to pack a suitcase for herself and her daughter, Chloe's niece, and she looked totally freaked out. She didn't answer, just ran around the room throwing things into her suitcase, totally distracted. Chloe wandered into the living room, grabbed her phone and turned it on, waiting to see messages and new posts, but instead what she saw scared her half to death: "ALERT - INBOUND BALLISTIC MISSILE/BOMB THREAT. SEEK SHELTER NOW." And it wasn't just Chloe and her family, or just one of the islands, it was everyone in the state of Hawaii - they all got that alarm on their phones, on TV and on the radio. The Emergency Broadcast System, and all of the alarms on the islands went off. That sent Chloe into action and she rushed to her room to pack a bag - the whole time though, she and everyone else, really thought that this was it, that they might die. Chloe's Mom's best friend actually had a bomb shelter under her house that was meant to protect them from any type of bomb or missile threat, so the whole family piled into the car - Chloe's sisters and Uncle and nieces - and went to their friend's house. They ran downstairs into the shelter while her Mom and their friend started bringing supplies downstairs to prepare for the supposed missile attack - canned goods and bottled water, blankets and first aid supplies - panicked and frantic and frightened. They turned on the television, waited for news and instructions, and, after what seemed like forever, a newscaster came on and told them, and everyone, it was a false alarm. A FALSE ALARM! And, while they were totally and completely relieved, they were also a little bit confused and angry! How could a false or fake alarm like this happen? How could they cause such a huge panic about a bomb or a missile, and have it last so long, and then just come on the air waves and just say "oh, sorry - our bad." The word was that someone supposedly pressed the wrong button. Wrong button?!?! It was the scariest moment of Chloe's life, and probably everyone else's on Hawaii too - almost 1.5 Million people freaking out and afraid that they were literally minutes from being attacked. Missle defence. And, even though it was so scary, ultimately it really helped Chloe appreciate all that was in her life, her family, her island, and to live every day with appreciation! - - - We love this true story. So What If I Look Different?

02:42
By Pierce | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. Pierce was born with a rare syndrome called Tilted Disc Syndrome. It only effects 1-2% of the whole population, and unfortunately he ended up in that tiny percentage. It's a condition that causes his eye to rest in an awkward and somewhat unnatural position. When he was three years old it became more pronounced and when his parents took him to the doctor that found out what it was, and they also found out that at that age, there was nothing that could be done about it. So, growing up through his childhood years, he had to deal with the fact that he looked different than the other kids around him. The fact that his eye was a little bit off kilter, and he, therefore, looked different than the other kids, caused him to get bullied - a lot. Kids were cruel, they straight-up called him ugly, or wouldn't play with him, saying he was blind and couldn't join their games. This bullying, that happened all the time, got him to the point were he hardly trusted anyone, and just stuck close to the few friends he was able to make and who didn't care that he looked different. This caused anxiety and depression. It was right around that time when the book WONDER came out, and Pierce read it cover-to-cover. The book gave him a lot of needed inspiration, convinced him finally that even though he had been born with this weird and rare syndrome, he was still beautiful, unique - truly one of a kind - even though the other kids were the ones who were blind, too blind to see the real person behind his weird looking eye. Even though he would sometimes be depressed, he got through it. He made it through the elementary school years, and finally was able to get an operation that could partially fix his eye, and his appearance - for the most part. For the first few months following his surgery he had to struggle through a lot of side effects, like getting nauseous and having terrible headaches, but finally, all of that faded away. The operation had involved the surgeons planting metal implants around his eye socket so that they could adjust it into the right position, and those implants cause there to be some pretty weird facial expressions at certain moments. So, grinning and smiling wide for instance, would make his one eye bulge out, and if he turned his head to look behind himself, or to the side, his eye would look like it was being held wide open! Again, he thought, "so what if I look different?" Kids really reacted badly to these few instances - called him the devil, or just ran away in fear - and that made him really really sad and caused real depression and anxiety. But, in those moments, he would think back to WONDER, and what Auggie Pullman would say - YOU BE YOU AND YOU'RE AMAZING! And looking different does not make him different in a bad way. He's still an amazing and beautiful guy. Pierce carried that message to himself through middle school, and it helped him get through it. Now he is a freshman in high school and his attitude is "So what if I look different?" - he may have had a tough time growing up, and people may have made him feel like a freak when he was younger, but now and moving forward he stays proud and strong in being himself and he knows that that is what will get him through life in the best possible way. All that matters is that you know that you are beautiful on the inside no matter how you may appear on the outside. - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! My Crush Didn’t Kiss Me Back

By Dorothy | Subscribe: http://bit.ly/sub2storybooth | Record your story @ https://storybooth.com or our iPhone app for a chance to get animated. Comment, like, share this story. There was a really super hot guy in Dorothy's class named Jonah. Everyone drooled over him, though he was the cutest boy around, and Dorothy felt the same way about him. She was not alone in having a major crush on him. He was a major crush. One day she was hanging out by her locker and he came over to her and asked if she had any plans for that night. She said no, and he asked if she wanted to come to his party. On the inside she was freaking out - the hottest guy ever just basically asked her out - but on the outside, she played it cool and just said "yeah, sure, that sounds good." After school, she literally ran all the way home to beg her big sister to drive her to the party - and she agreed to take her. The party was great - lots of kids there dancing and partying and having fun - and Dorothy was just chilling out when Jonah came up to her. He asked if she would come help him - that he had stubbed his toe or something and needed help finding the band-aids. Right away Dorothy felt like something else was maybe, hopefully going on, like maybe he was just trying to find an excuse to take her away from the party and be alone with her. Nervous, and excited - this was after all her one and only crush - she was like "sure, whatever" and they went upstairs to his room to "look for band-aids." They sat on the floor in his room and just talked and laughed and got to know each other better. They were having a ton of fun, and she was crushing on him harder than ever. She kind of felt like he was crushing on her too! All she knew is that she wanted to kiss him so badly. They kind of pretended to look for the band-aids - without any luck - and when they sat back down they ended up being really close to each other. Her heat was pounding. And then, suddenly, he started leaning toward her, like leaning in for a kiss! Without thinking, just being in that major kiss moment, she just straight up grabbed him, kissed him, with tongue! She was doing it! French kiss, her first kiss with him - She was really kissing her crush - and it was AMAZING! This was not a first kiss story, this was a first kiss with a crush story. UNTIL, all of a sudden, he pushed her away - hard - and said "WAIT - WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?!?" She was so embarrassed and confused. She told him "Well, you leaned in for a kiss, right?" And he pointed behind her, at the band-aids that were on the floor behind her, and said "NO - I was reaching for the band-aids!" Record scratch...Major fail, epic fail, the first kiss fail, disaster. It was so awkward, so embarrassing - such a major fail. She was praying at 1,000 mph that he would say "well, that was good anyway" or "it was totally worth it." But instead, there was just silence, total and utter awkward silence. She didn't know what to do, and he was just sort of sitting there stunned. So, she just exited - quickly - so embarrassed. What a disaster. She ran out of the party, out of the house, and just cried. It had gone from so awesome and exciting to such a major fail and so embarrassing - just like that. The next day at school was even worse - everyone knew what happened and they were all talking about it. She was so mad that he had told people how she had kissed him that she went right up to him when she saw him and asked him "how could you tell everyone about that kiss?" But he told her it wasn't him, it was all his friends who had been outside his bedroom door, listening in. And then, somewhat uncomfortably, he said "Also, FYI - I'm gay. That's why I haven't been kissing any girls. I'm gay." He turned out to be gay. The thought to her self - "I kissed my crush, it was an epic fail and he's gay? Dorothy felt so bad, apologized, blushed, but, they both got over it. And, the whole thing helped Jonah feel more comfortable telling people he was gay, got Dorothy over any first-kiss anxiety she might have had, and the best part - now they are literally best friends! - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! Mercer, make tomorrow today. - - - Tony and his two older sisters never got along, not ever, for as long as he can remember, and to this day he doesn't understand why. They bullied and tormented him, did and said horrible things to him whenever they could. His sisters would dress him up like a girl, force make-up on him, and then tell him he should have been female because nobody wanted a brother. It hurt him deeply. And they made fun of his weight and the fact that he loved to eat. They hurt, they teased, they ridiculed, but still, he didn't feel unsafe - they hadn't done any physical harm to him, and he thought maybe it was just normal. But, deep down inside he knew it wasn't normal, and maybe he even knew that he really wasn't safe - his life with his sisters felt dangerous and terrifying. His Mom was amazing and loved and protected him when she could, but that wasn't very often because she was a single parent and had to work all the time to keep their apartment, and food on their table, and keep them cared for. His Mom just wasn't able to be around the house and with them often enough to truly see what was happening to him, and how abusive it was - and she couldn't enforce the rules since she wasn't there. As he moved into his teenage years, the bullying and abuse from his sisters moved from hurtful words to real violence, and that violence grew and grew until eventually, he knew he truly wasn't safe in that house. He was being abused. His mom realized what was happening and felt the same way - it was dangerous, unsafe, and she needed to get him away from his sisters. With nowhere else to go, and the situation at home going from bad to worse, Tony went to live with his Uncle. For a little while things were okay, he felt safe, there was nobody there to hurt and bully him, and his Uncle was easy to be with. But then, out of the blue, Tony came home to find an eviction notice on his Uncle's door. With his Uncle being evicted, Tony was left without a place to live - he couldn't go back home because his sisters were too threatening, and he didn't want to burden his Mother because she had so much to deal with on her own, and so, just like that, he found himself scared, hungry, and on the streets - He was homeless, a homeless teen with nowhere to go. He eventually found himself in Central Park, and tried to blend in and look normal. This was no homeless kid experiment, he was hungry, dirty and tired, and had no money for food. He found a McDonalds and just sat, scared and alone. Finally, some kids left a tray full of uneaten food on top of the trash, and, embarrassed but too hungry to care, he took the tray and ate their leftovers. He was a homeless kid on the street, spending his nights in the park with nobody to help him - not a homeless experiment like he watched on youtube, this was real. On his fourth night of homelessness, he had to sleep on the streets, while he was sleeping, he got assaulted - beaten up really badly by a gang of thugs. He learned firsthand what it was like to be homeless in America. It was unsafe and dangerous. After that horrible assault, he knew he needed to get help - homeless solutions - and he called his Mom. He needed more than a place to sleep warm, he needed a safe place to stay. They went searching and that is how they found Covenant House - a homeless shelter, an adolescent shelter for homeless kids. It was the best thing that could have happened to him. He made friends and learned to share his feelings, not hide in his pain and all he had been through. Covenant House gave him a sense of real hope and a feeling of deep connection and trust. He was able to connect more deeply with his Mother, knowing that she knew he was okay, and ultimately, after all, he had been through, he found his redemption at Covenant House. His homelessness was a chapter, a stop along his journey, and the shelter and care that he finally found set him on a new path where he, in turn, can help others - just like he is doing by sharing this amazing story! https://www.covenanthouse.org/homeless-shelters - - - What's your story? storybooth wants to hear it! Living With Diabetes and Without Junk Food

02:56
By Jamie - Age 14 | For seven years of my life, I grew up in the foster system. I had to leave my mom’s house because of the decision to stop being there for her children. At the time, it was just me, an eight year old girl, and my brother, and an eleven year old severely autistic boy. One day the police showed up at our house. They asked me a lot of questions and then told us I would be staying at my aunt's house with her three kids, and my brother to a home for his needs. I stayed with my Aunt and cousins for a year and a half, until one day my Aunt told me to pack some clothes. I thought I was going to spend some time with my other Aunt and cousins, so happily I went and packed some clothes but, once I was done I went to the front room and my Aunt told me and my cousins I was going away for some time. I didn’t know what that meant but, we all cried, and my ??? showed up. My ??? didn’t tell me too much on our car ride there but, for most of the ride I cried. Once we got there, I was greeted by someone I would soon look up to as my sister, and by more people I would soon consider my family. I lived there for 2 and a half years. I wanted that to be my forever home, my forever family. But I found out my biological mom had another baby. He was only 5 months old and the state wanted us to be together forever. I moved in with him and his foster family. ??? threw up, cried, fussed, changed his diapers. I never thought I’d have a little brother, but there he was right before my eyes. I thought that was it for my foster placements but, I was wrong. Something didn’t work in that home and, we were moved after a year and a half of staying there. Now, we were with our very first white foster parent. A single mother, with three cute, but crazy kids. To say the least on that home, it didn’t work and, we left. On my last day of school, we were taken to our next foster home and, our last one thank you jesus. Another white family with four kids. A boy in the eleventh grade, a girl ???, another girl in the seventh grade, and another boy in like the fifth grade. And of course two parents, a mom and a dad and two lovely black dogs. Those people showed me and my brother so much love and care even after our hearts were broken by so many people at so many different times. I’ve never had a father figure in my life, so when I got to this one I didn’t really know how it felt to have a father at all. December 31, 2014, we were adopted by these people. Being here for two years now, I’ve received lots of love, and crazy rules and groundings. I’m blessed to have a place to finally call home Do you LOVE junk food? Tons of people do - especially when we're kids, it's everywhere. And so, getting addicted to sugar is easy. Do you kind of HATE healthy foods like vegetables and fruit? You're not alone. Jamie, up until a few years ago, ate nothing but junk food - all the time - chips, soda, candy, anything she could find that had lots and lots of sugar, or was fried, or processed, or just plain bad for you. It was all she craved. Even though her Mom told her not to eat all that junk food, and tried to get her to eat better healthier foods, she just ignored her and went on eating whatever she wanted. And this went on for a few years, until, Jamie started having trouble hearing. She didn't think much of it, but it got bad enough so that her Mom ended up taking her to the hospital. After the nurse tested her blood sugar - which Jamie hated since she hates blood and needles - she came back with bad news. Jamie had diabetes! It was a diagnosis she did not expect nor a disease she wanted. Her Mom was concerned, but Jamie was just totally confused - she had to learn all about it fast, AND, she had to take medicine - insulin - every single day. So, with a serious fear of needles and shots, Jamie found out that she had to give herself the shots, and monitor and test her blood sugar levels on her own. It was scary, and people would look at her when she had to do it and make her feel different and uncomfortable. But the hardest part of all was that she had to stop eating all of the junk food and sugar and start eating healthy foods. As a diabetic, She had to totally change her diet. And eventually, she got used to her new diet and at making healthier choices for eating and snacking. She even got used to the shots and is really living a normal life - but she does have to take care of herself a little more carefully than most kids her age and manage her diabetes. This is an important storytime to tell and to hear. Everyone's got a story....we want to hear yours!
