Audi Q7 (2018) Automated Parking

02:40
In a multi-storey car park near the terminal of Hamburg Airport experts are currently testing autonomous parking with Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche vehicles. While the vehicle owner is away, parcels ordered are delivered to the vehicle boot and the dry cleaning service hangs freshly laundered clothes straight in the vehicle. Upon return, the driver simply sends a brief message via the app and a short time later the vehicle is ready to drive home at the exit of the car park. And the billing is also fast and without queuing at the parking machine – needless to say, via the app. If you love cars you should subscribe now to YouCar the world famous automotive channel: https://goo.gl/5i54Vg ► Don’t miss the next videos: Press the little bell (🔔) to get notifications

► Audi's automated driving for parking

04:10
Audi's automatic parking systems operate by means of either ultrasound or cameras, which display images via the onboard monitor. One particularly convenient solution is park assist. When backing into a parking space, it performs all the necessary steering movements; it can handle both parallel parking and parking perpendicular to the street. The system finds a parking space with ultrasound sensors that scan the roadside in two dimensions while driving at moderate speed. The system notifies the driver via a message in the display once the sensors have found a space which is large enough. If the driver wishes to park in the space, he or she shifts into reverse and the park assist system takes over the steering. The driver must accelerate, shift gears, and brake. When parallel parking, the detected space is large enough if it is about 80 centimeters (2.62 ft) longer than the vehicle itself. Park assist can perform multi-point parking maneuvers and also offers support in leaving parallel parking spaces. Another technology from Audi is the parking system plus with surround view cameras. Four small cameras -- in the single-frame grille, at the rear and in the side mirror housings -- record the vehicle's immediate surroundings. The driver can call up a variety of views on the large onboard monitor, including a top-down virtual view. On corners or junctions with an obstructed view, the system can analyze cross-traffic otherwise invisible to the driver in front of or behind the vehicle. ► If you love cars, you should subscribe now to YouCar's channel: http://urlz.fr/lEd Go ahead, it's free! Bugatti Chiron – PRODUCTION – Dream Car Factory

03:32
© 2016 Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. The doors of Bugatti’s “Atelier” at the brand’s headquarters in Molsheim opened for the delivery of the first customer vehicles in the Chiron series. Three of the world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports cars are now starting their journey to their owners in Europe and the Middle East. They were sent off on their journey by the 50 or so production, quality assurance and logistics team members. Bugatti intends to produce up to 70 Chiron at its plant this year. The French luxury brand will be presenting a further customer vehicle at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show (9 to 19 March 2017). 20 employees in the Atelier assemble the new Bugatti from more than 1,800 individual parts, working solely by hand. The Chiron is subjected to the most stringent acceptance tests and quality controls before it is delivered to the customer. Many modifications to the facility at Molsheim were made for the assembly of the 1,500 horsepower super sports car to take account of its higher performance and the generally more complex nature of the new product and its production process. CAR FACTORY: 2015 Volvo XC90

03:58
Production of the 2015 Volvo XC90 at the plant in Torslanda, Sweden. Symbolising this historic day in Volvo’s 87 year history, the new XC90 will be the first of its cars to carry the company’s new more prominent iron mark, which has the iconic arrow elegantly aligned with the diagonal slash across the grille.  Together with the T-shaped “Thor’s Hammer” DRL lights, the iron mark introduces an entirely new, distinctive and confident face for Volvo’s forthcoming generation of cars.   The XC90’s larger bonnet with its new topography, the beltline and the sharpened shoulders connecting with the tattoo-like, new rear lights are other important design signatures that will be mirrored across the range.   To add more visual muscle from the sides, the XC90 comes with a range of wheel sizes up to 22 inches. The top of the range XC90 Twin Engine, which combines a two-litre, four-cylinder supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, offers an unrivalled combination of power and clean operation: around 400 horsepower with carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of around 60 g/km (NEDC driving cycle). The XC90’s interior is the most luxurious to have been designed for a Volvo. The most striking feature is a tablet-like touch screen control console, which forms the heart of an all-new in-car control system. This system is virtually button free and represents an entirely new way for drivers to control their car and access a range of Internet-based products and services. It also helps create an interior that is modern, spacious and uncluttered. ► If you love cars, you should subscribe now to YouCar's channel: http://urlz.fr/lEd Go ahead, it's free! All the Best.

Tesla Model S - Crash Test

01:51
The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. Readings from the passenger dummy indicated good protection of all body areas except the head. Analysis of the dummy kinematics showed that the airbag on the passenger side had 'bottomed out' i.e. there was insufficient inflation to prevent the head flattening the airbag and coming into contact with the facia, through the airbag material. Tesla investigated the issue and found an error in the airbag calibration software supplied by the vendor. Euro NCAP has been informed that this error has been corrected in all vehicles supplied to customers. Although the calculated injury parameters were not hazardous, protection of the passenger head was penalised and rated as adequate. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. Tesla showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different seating positions. In the side barrier test, the Model S scored maximum points with good protection of all body regions. In the more severe side pole test, dummy measurements of rib compressions indicated marginal protection of the chest. Protection against whiplash injury in the event of a rear-end collision was rated as good for the front and rear seats. The Model S scored maximum points for its protection of the child dummies in the dynamic tests. Both dummies were seated in rearward-facing restraints and showed good protection in the frontal impact. In the side impact, both dummies were properly contained within the protective shells of their restraints, minimising the risk of head contact with parts of the vehicle interior. The front passenger airbag can be disabled through the user menu, allowing a rearward-facing restraint to be used in that seating position. However, the interface is not clear in all languages about the actions being taken to set the airbag status and the system was not rewarded. All of the restraints for which the car is designed could be properly installed and accommodated with the exception of the Group I universal restraint in the rear outboard seats. While the seat could be installed, the seat cushioning made engagement of the ISOFIX probes difficult. Integral child restraints are available as an optional third row in the Model S. The Tesla is equipped with an 'active' bonnet. When the system detects that a pedestrian has been struck, actuators lift the bonnet to provide greater clearance to hard structures underneath. Tesla showed that the system detects all statures robustly over a range of speeds and the car was tested with the bonnet in the deployed position. Protection was adequate or marginal over most of the surface of the bonnet with poor results recorded only at the base of the windscreen and on the stiff screen pillars. The bumper offered predominantly good protection to pedestrians' legs while the front edge of the bonnet gave good results towards the centre of the car but poor results at the outside edges. Electronic stability control is standard equipment on the Model S. A seatbelt reminder is standard for the front and rear seats, as is a lane departure warning system that met Euro NCAP's requirements. The Model S has a speed assistance system that can recognise the local speed limit and issue a warning to the driver when that limit is exceeded. The Model S is not equipped with an autonomous emergency braking system. ► If you love cars, you should subscribe now to YouCar's channel: http://urlz.fr/lEd Go ahead, it's free! All the Best.

NEW 2015 Ford F-150 reveal promo

03:08
The all-new F-150 delivers an impressive combination of power, capability and efficiency -- from advanced materials that improve durability and inhibit corrosion, to faster processors that enhance driving performance, to breakthrough cargo management and towing solutions. A new 2.7-liter EcoBoost with standard Auto Start-Stop and a 3.5-liter V6 engine with twin independent variable camshaft timing join the proven 3.5-liter EcoBoost and 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine features a lightweight, compact design to deliver the same power as some mid-range V8s. Auto Start-Stop technology helps save fuel. Unlike start-stop solutions in other vehicles, this technology -- specially tuned for truck customers -- shuts off the engine to save fuel when the vehicle is stopped, except when towing or in four-wheel drive. The engine restarts in milliseconds when the brake is released. Ford F-150 trucks equipped with EcoBoost engines also will benefit from standard Active Grille Shutters. Active Grille Shutters stay open when extra engine cooling is needed, such as during low-speed stop-and-go driving or while working in hot weather. They automatically close to reduce aerodynamic drag at cruising speed. ► SUBSCRIBE NOW: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=youcarpress ► FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/youcarpress ► TWITTER: http://www.twitter.com/youcartv ► GOOGLE+: http://plus.google.com/+YouCarPress

All-new Ford F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks roll off the line for the first time in the United States. Production of the trucks at Ohio Assembly Plant, previously built in Mexico, helps secure more than 1,000 hourly UAW jobs and a $168 million plant investment in the United States. Offered in Regular Cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab body styles and in straight-frame, dock-height and an all-new dedicated tractor model for heavy towing applications, the 2016 F-650/F-750 line features a bold new look inside and out. Ford is the only medium-duty truck manufacturer that designs and builds its own diesel engine and transmission combination – ensuring the powertrain will work seamlessly with all chassis components and vehicle calibrations. Along with its 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel engine option, Ford remains the only automaker to offer a gasoline-powered engine in the medium-duty truck segment. The 6.8-liter V10 with 320 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque now will be available for both F-650 and F-750 models with the heavy-duty TorqShift six-speed automatic transmission. VW Golf 7 4MOTION - Animation Technology

03:14
Volkswagen is expanding the new Golf range: following the models with front-wheel drive launched at the end of 2012, the versions with 4MOTION all-wheel drive are now being unveiled. Volkswagen is thus continuing the long tradition of four-wheel drive Golf models -- the first Golf with four driven wheels made its debut back in 1986. The new Golf's permanent four-wheel drive system is one of the most modern and efficient of its kind in the world. In this latest version of the Golf 4MOTION Volkswagen is using a four-wheel drive system with an enhanced, fifth-generation Haldex coupling. The intelligently controlled 4MOTION drive weighs 1.4 kilograms less than the previous system, requires no pressure accumulator and reacts extremely quickly to every conceivable influence exerted on it. The result is greater active safety and improved handling. 15 per cent lower fuel consumption. Volkswagen is offering the new Golf 4MOTION in Europe in three levels of specification (Trendline, Comfortline, Highline) and with two turbo diesel engines that provide both high torque and great fuel efficiency. The common rail four-cylinder engines deliver 77 kW / 105 PS and 110 kW / 150 PS and consume just 4.5 / 4.7 litres of fuel respectively per 100 kilometres. Just how efficiently the four-wheel drive Golf works is shown by a fuel consumption comparison between the 103 kW / 140 PS version of the old Golf 4MOTION and the new 150 PS model: despite being 10 PS more powerful, the 2013 Golf 4MOTION consumes 0.8 litres (15 per cent) less diesel. High tech as standard. Like the front-wheel drive versions the new 4MOTION models are equipped as standard with a Stop/Start system and battery regeneration. Also included as standard even on the base version (Trendline) are features such as the four-wheel EDS (electronic differential locks on both axles), the XDS front and rear axle transverse lock, the electronic stabilisation programme, an Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, seven airbags, daytime running lights, air conditioning, electric windows front and back, a multi-function display (on-board computer) and a TFT display with touchscreen operation. The premium payable for the permanent four-wheel drive system on the Golf 4MOTION -- sold fundamentally as a four-door vehicle -- is €1,800 in Germany. ► http://www.facebook.com/youcarpress

Jeep Celebrates 75 Years with this Willys MB-inspired Concept

02:14
Since 1941, the Jeep name has symbolized a unique family of go-anywhere, do-anything vehicles – first developed for military use, and after 1945, continually adapted for a wide variety of civilian applications. The Jeep brand is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2016, and to mark the occasion, a commemorative one-of-a-kind Wrangler 75th Salute concept vehicle is being created today as a tribute to the brand’s legendary history and military heritage. The “function over form” of the original Jeep military service vehicles is evident in this unique concept vehicle. The Wrangler 75th Salute concept – a modern interpretation of the Willys MB – is based on a two-door Wrangler Sport and highlights rugged functionality with heritage design cues, including the absence of B-pillars and doors. The exterior features an olive-drab color scheme that was first seen on military vehicles 75 years ago and is present throughout the Wrangler 75th Salute concept. Features, including 16-inch steel wheels wrapped in 32-inch military non-directional tires, hood latches, a rear-mounted spare tire, steel front and rear bumpers with tow hooks and low back canvas seats, echo the original military Jeep vehicles. Other features include custom wood hood blocks and side mirrors, as well as bronze commemorative fender badges. The Jeep Wrangler 75th Salute concept vehicle is built on the same assembly line that has produced the Wrangler in Toledo, Ohio, for decades, and is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and mated to a six-speed manual transmission. ► Audi's automatic driving in traffic jams

02:27
From Audi adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function to traffic sign recognition -- right across its model range, Audi offers a broad assortment of assistance systems that make driving even more relaxed and under control. The assistance systems are closely integrated, providing them with a high degree of intelligence and outstanding capabilities. Adaptive cruise control (ACC) with Stop & Go function acts as the core component of the Audi driver assistance systems. The system regulates the speed and the distance from the vehicle in front over a range of zero to 250 km/h (zero to 155.34 mph). The ACC Stop & Go function employs one or two rear-mounted radar sensors depending on the configuration. The sensors transmit radar waves in order to detect objects up to 250 meters (820.21 ft) ahead of the vehicle. The driver can vary the distance to the vehicle ahead and the control dynamics in multiple levels - from sporty to comfortable. In stop & go traffic the system slows down the car to a standstill. After a brief stop, such as at a traffic light, it automatically drives off and follows the vehicle ahead; after a longer stop, the driver must tap the accelerator pedal or briefly activate the control stalk. Audi adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function interacts closely with other driver assistance systems; it utilizes the data from almost 30 control units to analyze all of the vehicle's surroundings. The system uses this broad knowledge base to recognize complex scenarios and offer anticipatory support to the driver. Because it works in conjunction with the MMI Navigation plus, it knows which route lies ahead and can use this information to control the vehicle's speed. Audi offers a number of versions of adaptive cruise control for different model series -- including without the Stop & Go function. The individual versions differ slightly in their mode of operation due to the different degrees of networking and configurations. ► If you love cars, you should subscribe now to YouCar's channel: http://urlz.fr/lEd Go ahead, it's free! All-New 2017 Infiniti Q60 sports coupe

01:19
On sale late summer 2016, the Q60 will play an important role in the brand's global growth and re-ignite its presence in the premium sports coupe segment. Infiniti has been at the forefront of the sports coupe class, thanks to the G35 and G37, launched in 2002 and 2008, respectively. The first-generation G35 presented a blend of class-leading dynamics and eye-catching looks – and Infiniti development teams have designed and engineered the third-generation Q60 sports coupe according to the same principles. The high performance 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine from the new and exclusive "VR" powertrain family is born out of the brand's extensive in-house experience of six-cylinder powertrain development. The new engine has been engineered to empower the driver and offer increased power and torque with high levels of efficiency. This new "VR30" engine comes in two power ratings: 300 horsepower or 400 horsepower, with the latter offering one of the best power-to-efficiency ratios in the premium sports coupe class. A four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine, turbocharged to produce 208 horsepower, is also available in the Q60. Power is channeled through the Q60's rear wheels for optimal dynamic response and to benefit steering feel. The available rear-biased Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system provides enhanced stability and road holding in low-grip conditions. The Q60 has been engineered to deliver a truly engaging sports coupe experience, with a unique balance of ride comfort and agile handling. Complementing this position is Infiniti's new Dynamic Digital Suspension, which has been designed to offer best-in-class handling responses and agility, and enhanced ride comfort – thanks, in part, to a dedicated new set of dampers. In addition, Infiniti's second-generation Direct Adaptive Steering offers high levels of steering feel and feedback, and the Drive Mode Selector gives drivers the option to personalize and tailor the steering's precise levels of response and feel to suit their own preferences. Mercedes Arocs (2013) OFF-ROAD TEST DRIVE

02:41
The 4151 8x8/4 was chosen for the test drive on the so-called extreme circuit. In keeping with the established Mercedes-Benz nomenclature, this is a 41-tonner with four axles, all driven, two of which -- the front ones, of course -- are steered. The engine is rated at 375 kW (510 hp), as is also indicated in the model designation. The engine in question is the top-of-the-range 12.8 l six-cylinder in-line engine from Mercedes-Benz, which delivers its full output at 1800 rpm and summons up maximum tractive power of 2500 Nm at 1100 rpm. ► If you love cars, you should subscribe now to YouCar's channel: http://urlz.fr/lEd Go ahead, it's free! Mercedes GLC (2016) Crash Test

03:30
The passenger compartment of the new MY16 Mercedes-Benz GLC remained stable in the frontal offset barrier test. The car scored maximum points for its protection of the front passenger dummy, with good protection of all critical body areas. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and passenger. Mercedes-Benz showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions. In the frontal full-width rigid barrier test, the front driver scored maximum points, with good protection of all body regions. For the rear passenger, protection of the neck was adequate and that of the chest was marginal, the head and femurs being well protected. The GLC scored maximum points in both the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact, with good protection of all critical areas of the body. The front seats and head restraints provided good protection against whiplash injury in Euro NCAP's tests and a geometric assessment of the rear seats indicated the same high level of protection to the occupants of those seats. Autonomous emergency braking is standard on the GLC. Tests showed good performance at the low speeds, typical of city driving, at which many whiplash injuries are caused. The GLC scored maximum points for its protection of the 11⁄2 year dummy in the frontal offset and side barrier tests. Protection of the 3 year dummy was also good apart from marginally raised neck tensile forces. In the frontal test, forward movement of the 3 year dummy, sat in a forward-facing restraint, was not excessive. In the side impact, both dummies were properly contained within the protective shells of their restraints, minimising the likelihood of dangerous head contact with parts of the car interior. The GLC has an automatic airbag deactivation system which switches off the front passenger airbag when a rearward-facing child restraint is used in that seating position but switches it on again when the seat is occupied by a large child or an adult. All of the restraint types for which the GLC is designed could be properly installed and accommodated in the car. The GLC has an active bonnet. Sensors in the bumper detect when a pedestrian has been struck and actuators lift the bonnet to provide greater clearance between the bonnet surface and the hard structures in the engine compartment. Mercedes-Benz showed that the system worked over a range of speeds and for a variety of pedestrian statures, so the system was tested in the deployed (raised) position. Good or adequate results were recorded over almost the entire bonnet surface, showing a high level of protection to the head of a struck pedestrian. The bumper also offered good or adequate protection to pedestrians' legs. Only the protection of the pelvis was mixed, with predominantly poor results. Electronic stability control is standard equipment, together with a seatbelt reminder for the front and rear seats. A driver-set speed limiter is available as an option. It is expected to be sold in sufficient numbers to qualify for assessment by Euro NCAP so its results are included in this rating. A lane departure warning system is an option that is not expected to be sold in high numbers, so this was not included in the rating. The standard-fit autonomous emergency braking system operates over a wide range of speeds. The system performed well in Euro NCAP's inter-urban tests. Tesla Model S (2017) Crash Tests

03:52
The Tesla Model S, a large luxury sedan, earns good ratings in all IIHS crashworthiness evaluations except the challenging small overlap front crash test, in which it earns an acceptable rating. Despite lengthening the side curtain airbags to improve small overlap protection in the Model S, Tesla ran into problems in the test when the safety belt allowed the dummy’s torso to move too far forward. That allowed the dummy’s head to hit the steering wheel hard through the airbag. Measurements from the dummy indicated that injuries to the head, along with the lower right leg, would be possible in a real-world crash of the same severity. The ratings for the Model S apply to 2016 and 2017 cars built after October 2016. Tesla says it made a production change on Jan. 23 to address the head-contact problem, and IIHS will test the updated vehicle for small overlap protection as soon as it can be delivered. Crash Tests 2016 American Muscle Car - Mustang, Camaro & Challenger

04:38
Because no one buys a sports car to drive in the slow lane, the best all- around occupant crash protection is crucial. IIHS evaluated 2016 models of the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang in the full battery of crashworthiness evaluations. IIHS doesn’t typically crash-test sports cars as they make up a small share of the consumer market. IIHS engineers decided to evaluate these models with optional V-8 engines because they are big sellers in their class, and consumers often ask how they would perform in crash tests. Insurance data point to high losses for sports cars. As a group, they have the highest losses among passenger vehicles for crash damage repairs under collision coverage, data from the Highway Loss Data Institute show. Collision coverage insures against physical damage to the at-fault policyholder’s vehicle in a crash. The Camaro, Challenger and Mustang all earn good ratings for occupant protection in a moderate overlap front crash and side impact. In the Institute’s newest and toughest crashworthiness evaluation, the small overlap front test, the Camaro earns a good rating, the Mustang earns acceptable, and the Challenger is rated marginal. ► 2015 Volkswagen Touareg OFFROAD Demo

04:01
The latest Touareg is identifiable visually by its redesigned front and rear. Striking features at the front are the bi-xenon headlights, also redesigned and now standard on all models. At the back new rear lights are used. In the 'Chrome & Style' version the new Touareg is enhanced by a chrome strip running around the lower part of the vehicle body. The range of colours has been updated (new: 'Reef Blue Metallic', 'Sand Gold Metallic', 'Black Oak Brown Metallic' and 'Moonlight Blue Pearl Effect'), while the designers have also given a new look to four of the total of 16 styles of alloy wheels available: 'Arica' (18-inch), 'Salvador' (19-inch from Volkswagen R), 'Masafi' (20-inch) and 'Talladega' (20-inch from Volkswagen R). Redesigned interior features include the aluminium switches typical of the Touareg. They now look as though they have been milled from a solid block of metal. All buttons and switches now illuminated in white (instead of red as before) gives the interior ambience an additionally refined feel. The range of interior colours and styles of leather has been extended, while two new decorative wood trims have been designed to match these colours and styles: 'Sapelli Mahogany' and 'Engineered Ebony'. In terms of technical enhancements, particular focus has been placed on the V6 TDI engines, as in Europe over 90 per cent of all Touareg sales are of models with one of the two V6 TDI engine capacities on offer. Both six-cylinder engines have been modified and upgraded by adding an SCR catalytic converter. Using 'selective catalytic reduction', the amount of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust fumes is significantly reduced. Thanks to the SCR catalytic converter the 'Touareg 4MOTION V6 TDI BlueMotion Technology', as it is called in full, meets the demanding EU6 emissions standard. Also new on the V6 TDI: a coasting function. While the vehicle is coasting, the standard 8-speed automatic transmission is disengaged in order to utilise the kinetic energy during periods where no acceleration is required and thus to reduce fuel consumption still further. Aerodynamic refinements to the vehicle body and underbody, plus the introduction of new tyres optimised for low roll resistance, also have a fuel-saving effect: consumption on the 150-kW version (204 PS)1 has been reduced from 7.0 to 6.6 litres of diesel per 100 km; this equates to a reduction in CO2 from 184 g/km to 173 g/km. The advances are even clearer in the case of the larger of the two V6 TDI engines, the power output of which has been increased from 180 kW (245 PS) to 193 kW (262 PS)2: despite this added power, its consumption falls from 7.2 to likewise 6.6 l/100 km (equating to 174 g/km of CO2). In the case of the 'Terrain Tech' version3 – the Touareg with special off-road applications and a four-wheel drive system with low range set of gear ratios, designed among things for particularly demanding off-road conditions – there is an improvement from 7.3 to 6.9 l/100 km. The standard steel-spring suspension has been optimised, with improvements including even more agile steering and extra comfort. Available again as an option for the Touareg is an air suspension system, with which ground clearance can be increased to as much as 300 mm on off-road terrain. Meanwhile, at higher speeds (140 km/h and above) the air suspension automatically lowers the vehicle's body. ► If you love cars, you should subscribe now: http://urlz.fr/lEd ► Website: http://www.youcarnews.com ► Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/youcarpress ► Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/youcartv ► Google+: http://plus.google.com/+YouCarPress

NEW Mercedes-Benz Engine: CAMTRONIC System

02:03
CAMTRONIC is an innovative engine management system that reduces an engine's CO2emissions. It optimizes fuel consumption in the engine's frequently used lower partial load range by reducing losses relating to load change behavior. Mercedes-Benz equips its 1.6-liter variant of the M270 four-cylinder gasoline engine with the intake valve lift adjustment amongst others. The system operates mechanically, but is served by an electronically controlled actuator. The intake camshaft is made up of several components: two hollowed-drilled sub- shafts of equal size are mounted on the carrier shaft. The first sub shaft controls the intake valves of cylinders 1 and 2, and the second those of cylinders 3 and 4. The cams themselves take the form of a double-cam with two curved surfaces. The surface operating the valves via roller-type rocker arms is only half as wide as on a conventional cam, therefore the space requirement is the same. When the steeper half of the cam is active, the valve lift is increased and the valves remain open for longer. Switching to the flatter half of the cam shortens the valve lift and the valves close sooner. If you love cars, you should subscribe now to YouCar's channel: http://urlz.fr/lEd Go ahead, it's free!
